26 Teen Drama Shows That'll Make You Feel Young Again

teen drama shows for 2024

There is one rule I live by: when life gets boring, there's nothing like seeing other people's (fictional) drama. Why worry about the ins and outs of my chores when I can watch a bunch of overdramatic teens go about their own lives, with expertly designed outfits and an amazing soundtrack to boot? Not to mention the fact that there are vampires to fall in love with, small towns to pretend I live in, and a pair of brothers to fight over my — er, the lead's — heart (seriously though, why is it always two brothers?).

This list has just about everything: there's magic, there are treasure hunts, and there's drama just for the sake of drama because that's what it felt like to turn 17 realize that your entire life is stretched out in front of you. For nights when you want to have an existential crisis one moment and ask "How the heck did someone come up with this?" the next, here are the best teen drama shows you can rewatch right now.

The Best Teen Drama Shows In Iconic Locations

Gossip Girl

Nothing, and I mean nothing, will get you in the mood for a trip to New York City like the OG Gossip Girl. Sure, we can't all spend thousands of dollars at Bergdorf's on the regular, or wake up to see the sunrise from our penthouse apartments, but there's a certain je ne sais quoi to seeing a bunch of private schoolers smiling while they absolutely tear each other to shreds.

Image via Fox /IMDb

Beverly Hills, 90210

Like so many teen drama shows (and IRL teen experiences), the kids on Beverly Hills, 90210 spend a lot of time dealing with relationship troubles, exploring what they actually want, and figuring out what life holds for them. I would, however, like some financial compensation for the Brenda-Dylan-Kelly breakup because it is DEVASTATING.

Image via Netflix

Outer Banks

Okay I'll be honest. I'm from the Outer Banks and I am a MENACE every time a new season drops. I am just a sucker for the friends-to-lovers plotlines, Goonies-style adventure, and all of the UNC vs. Duke Easter eggs. The first season also has major Y2K vibes and really just reminds me of home every time I watch it. Have I based my entire summer wardrobe off Sarah Cameron's OBX fashion? Yes. Have I found $40 million in gold? Not yet.

The O.C.

While I rue the day this show took Adam Brody (and Dave Ragowski) away from Gilmore Girls, I can't be *too* mad because The O.C. is gold.

It has that nostalgic thrill that the first day of summer vacation gave me as a kid, just with a lot more entertainment. The Summer x Seth pairing is one of my favorite tropes ever (you just can't go wrong with popular girl x nerdy guy!), and just like everything else it does, the show knocks it out of the park.

New Teen TV Series

The Summer I Turned Pretty

The Summer I Turned Pretty is a newer addition to this list but it's come out of the gate strong. As Emily Longeretta from Variety mentioned, it's one of the few teen drama shows on TV right now that focuses on the characters' relationships and basically nothing else.

Characters navigate family issues and real-world trauma, but there aren't any larger-than-life crazy plot lines that distract from the most important detail: choosing between Jeremiah and Conrad. Kidding!

Every character on this show is infuriating and messy and lovable all at the same time — just like us!

Image via HBO

Euphoria

In my opinion, the way that this HBO Max series contrasts the ultra serious problems among teens with overdramatic makeup is pure art. (Shameless plug for our Euphoria makeup tutorial).

Not only did Zendaya snag the Emmy award for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series (twice!) but it's also continually made headlines for the ways it shows the horrors of addictions. Even though the aesthetic of the show is glamorous, nothing about the characters' struggles are — and that adds a whole other layer.

Teen Romance TV Shows With Sports

Image via Warner Bros. Television./IMDb

One Tree Hill

One Tree Hillwill forever and always be my favorite teen drama show. It might start off all about sports but it quickly becomes much more than that (even though basketball is still a very important part). Aside from absolutely unhinged plot lines about psycho nannies and stalkers-pretending-to-be-someone's-brother, I was taken aback by how realistic the characters felt the first time I watched.

As fun as the drama can be, the best part of the show is that there are also plenty of moments where the characters just get to exist. My favorite scene of the entire series is at the end of season seven, where there's a sledding montage and everyone just spends time together after a season of hardship. No matter which season is your favorite, this series really emphasizes the beauty of life.

Image via NBC/IMDb

Friday Night Lights

Let me be the proof that you don't have to love football to get into Friday Night Lights. I needed precisely *one* season to fall in love with Matt Saracen and for Minka Kelly's Lyla Garrity to become one of my favorite TV females ever. Were plot lines like experimental surgeries in Mexico and random murders somewhat ridiculous? Yes. Did I watch every single second? Absolutely.

Iconic Teen Drama Shows

Image via Columbia TriStar Television/The CW/IMDb

Dawson's Creek

Dawson's Creek is another coming-of-age story that resonates so deeply with so many people, and thanks to the way it handles topics like mental health and addiction, it laid the groundwork for so many of our favorite Y2K teen drama shows. Plus, it gave us Joey and Pacey and for that, I will always be grateful.

Image via Alliance Atlantis/IMDb

Degrassi

Before there was Euphoria, we had Degrassi and this show *does not* pull its punches. Sex, drugs, parental issues, disordered eating — Degrassi covers it all. You've also got your pick: The Kids of Degrassi Street, Degrassi Junior High, Degrassi High, Degrassi: The Next Generation, and Degrassi: Next Class.

Image via E4/IMDb

Skins

Effy Stonem remains one of the *most* iconic TV characters in any teen drama. Skins really emphasizes the absurdity of our teenage years, but that craziness is underscored by the tragedies the characters go through — it really pulls at your heart strings!

The Best Teen + Family Dramas

Image via ABC/20th Century Fox Home Entertainment./IMDb

The Wonder Years

If you're looking to balance your drama with some humor, then this is a great series to opt for. Kevin's relationship with Winnie a huge part of The Wonder Years and their experiences together — from trying to make time for each other to the terrifying moment when you realize you have romantic feelings for your friend — are so relatable that you can't help but love them.

Image via The WB/The CW/IMDb

Gilmore Girls

Gilmore Girls falls under one of my favorite categories: shows where nothing happens, but in a relaxing instead of boring way. Stars Hollow (filmed in Washington, Connecticut) the perfect dose of autumn no matter when you watch it (something I'm looking for at all times) and even though Rory Gilmore is a little insufferable TBH, Dave, Luke, and Rory's boyfriends always keep me coming back. (And Rory's outfits, obvi).

Image via ABC Family/Freeform/IMDb

The Secret Life Of The American Teenager

Amy's (Shailene Woodley) whole life turns upside down when she learns that she's pregnant. While moments on the show don't always feel grounded (The "I am such a whore." "Well, you're my whore." scene will forever live in infamy), it did showcase the how teen pregnancy affects friends and family members — and made way for lots of real-world conversations.

Image via Warner Bros. Television/IMDb

Everwood

Every time I remember this teen drama stars Chris Pratt, the "Ariana what are you doing here?" audio automatically plays in my mind. Everwood starts off with a bang when Delia and Ephram's dad moves them from New York City to a small mountain town after the death of their mother. It's as much about family relationships as it is about romantic ones and I love it for that.

Image via Fox/IMDb

Party of Five

When the Salinger children lose their parents, oldest child Charlie is left with custody of both his four siblings and their parents' restaurant. Not only does this series feature Jennifer Love Hewiit and Scream's Neve Campbell, but it also gave us Hallmark Channel and Mean Girls icon Lacey Chabert.

High School TV Shows

Image via MTV/IMDb

Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County

This takes "teen drama show" to a whole new level considering it's a reality show! Not only did it offer a glimpse into the lives of California kids but it also introduced us to Lauren Conrad and thank goodness for that.

Image via NBC/IMDb

Freaks and Geeks

Freaks and Geeks really shows how cool freaks *and* geeks can be, especially considering how stacked the cast is. It also really balances the humor of how much high school can suck with some pretty important messages about identity and friendship. Our favorite quote remains "Just cause a girl speaks her mind doesn't mean she's a psycho." Say it louder for the people in the back!

Image via NBC/IMDb

Saved by the Bell

While this series has plenty of laughs, it also features a surprising amount of real-world teen drama, too. Saved by the Bell touches on everything from addiction to divorce to bullies, but every episode comes to a close in a very satisfying (if somewhat silly) way.

Image via CBC/Fox/IMDb

Edgemont

Edgemont is all about high school — the good and the bad. There's plenty of good *and* bad to go around when the teens are dealing with bullies, unplanned pregnancies, new independence, and a staple in young adulthood: junk food.

Supernatural Teen Drama Shows

Image The CW/IMDb

The Vampire Diaries

If I'm completely honest, I waited a long time to start this show because it looked dumb to me. But let me tell you, for a show about vampires and werewolves, TVD has no right being as good as it is (and it's not just because I dressed like Elena Gilbert throughout all of high school).

You can tell how much everyone cares about each other, and there are such rich relationships between siblings, female friends, and family. Plus did I mention there are vampires and werewolves?

Image via Netflix

Stranger Things

The formative years of middle and high school are hard enough when you think about bullies, relationship drama, and family tension. Add on an alternate dimension, a little girl with super powers, and a faceless monster? Forget about it.

Image via 20th Century Fox Television/IMDb

Buffy The Vampire Slayer

If you've binged The Vampire Diaries and still don't have your fill of all things supernatural then you *have* to watch this classic teen drama. Beneath the fight against demons and other monsters (and a very charming cameo from Pedro Pascal), Buffy dealt with everything from domestic violence to how stressful paying your bills can be.

Image via Netflix

The Society

Fair warning: despite how amazing this series is, it was cancelled by Netflix after one season. Meaning that the teens' sleuthing, fractured relationships, and secrets — not to mention the question of how they end up in another dimension in the first place — are left on a serious cliffhanger. Do I still recommend it? 1000 percent.

Image via CW/IMDb

Nancy Drew

Speaking of sleuthing, the CW's Nancy Drew is one series that will have you looking for clues in literally every episode. Not only is the show compelling, romantic, thrilling, and heart-wrenching, but the casting is also pure gold. You will never be able to convince me Ace isn't *actually* one of the Hardy Boys.

Image via The CW/IMDb

Riverdale

Ah yes, the most unhinged of all unhinged teen drama shows. What started out as a somewhat down-to-earth (if exaggerated) comic adaptation became something that will be a part of the cultural zeitgeist forever.

It's led to countless memes (anyone up for "the epic highs and lows of high school football?"), and watching any episode feels like you're taking part in the best game of Mad Libs ever. Noun (Chad Michael Murray) in an article of clothing (stuntman suit) rides in a mode of transportation (a homemade rocket) — this is a real plot line FYI.

We've got random musical episodes. We've got the shining star that is Cheryl Blossom, Queen of the Bees. We've got some serious maple syrup drama (let's keep Buddy the Elf far, far away). Riverdale really is the gift that keeps on giving.

This post has been updated.

Our favorite dancing queens (Meryl Streep included) might be returning to the big screen for a third encore of Mamma Mia! and we’re already rewatching the first two movie musicals in preparation.

In an interview with Deadline in May of 2023, Mamma Mia! franchise creator and producer Judy Craymer said a third movie musical is in "earliest stages." She also shared that she has come up with a way to bring Meryl Streep back again.

"I don't want to over-egg it," she said of the unofficial news, "but I know there's a trilogy there…and I do think Meryl should come back, and if the script is right, she would, I think, because she really loved playing Donna."

"Of course I want to do it," Streep said during the 2024 Cannes Film Festival (via Deadline). Sounds promising to us!

Is Mamma Mia 3 happening?

Universal Pictures

Yes, Mamma Mia 3 is in its early planning stages! Christine Baranski just told The Hollywood Reporter that she's met with producer Judy Kramer, and that Kramer has plans for the third movie. "She gave me the narrative plotline of how it’s going to happen," Baranski says. "That’s all I can say! But, it’s not like, 'Oh, I wish it could happen!' Judy Kramer makes things happen. She made number two happen, and it was a phenomenal hit. I wouldn’t put it past Judy Kramer to get everybody back together."

Universal Pictures

A third installation was first mentioned way back in 2020, during a Collider interview with Mamma Mia! star Amanda Seyfried. Seyfried said she was on board — and at the time, she thought the rest of the star-studded cast would be too.

"Listen, every single person in that movie would say yes in a heartbeat because we want to hang out with each other," Seyfried told Collider at the time. "That's what we talked about last time, like did we ever think that we'd end up here again on an Island in Croatia?"

When will Mamma Mia 3 come out?

Universal Pictures

We don't have an official answer about when to expect this highly anticipated sequel. The project is in the "earliest stages," according to creator and producer, Judy Craymer. Cher also revealed to Entertainment Weekly that everyone is "talking about it," but she doesn't "know when they're going to do it."

Has casting information been shared about Mamma Mia 3?

Jonathan Prime/Universal Studios

While nothing's been made official, Amanda Seyfried just said something that made my heart skip a beat. She told ABC News she loves Sabrina Carpenter's music and dropped this admission: "If Sabrina Carpenter wants to play my daughter, I’ll make it happen."

But before she admitted that, the actress said something else that made me raise my eyebrows. "Everybody says it’s gonna happen, but I mean, I haven’t seen a script."

Cher is also eager to return to the beloved franchise and is rooting for Meryl to make an appearance again. "I keep saying, 'Meryl, you've got to come back,'" she said (via Entertainment Weekly). She also said she's told her, "'It'll be fun. You'll have a good time. You'll be able to sing.'"

I don't know what it'll take, but hope someone gets a script in Amanda Seyfried, Cher, and Meryl Streep's hands ASAP!

What is the first Mamma Mia about?

Universal Pictures

The first film follows Donna (Streep) and Sophie (Seyfried) as mother and daughter living on a remote Greek island. When Sophie is about to marry Sky (Dominic Cooper), she sets out to learn who her real father is after discovering it could be one of three men (played by Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarsgard, and Colin Firth).

Who does the second Mamma Mia follow?

Universal Pictures / NBCUniversal

Mamma Mia 2takes viewers back to 1979, where young Donna (Lily James) embarks on a series of adventures throughout Europe following her Oxford University graduation. On her journeys, she makes the acquaintances of Harry, Bill and Sam – the latter whom she falls in love with. In the present day, pregnant Sophie dreams of renovating a taverna while reuniting with her mother's old friends and boyfriends on a Greek island island.

TBH, we’re pretty happy that Mamma Mia! is far from over, and we can’t wait to see what the franchise has in store for us next. Stay updated on all the latest entertainment news with Brit + Co.

There's nothing ~normal~ about how much we love Normal People's Paul Mescal & Daisy Edgar-Jones. While it turns out we're not getting a Normal People season 2 (yet), the two actors are starring in some of 2024's biggest blockbusters (Twisters and Gladiator II, namely), and we've been soaking up their presences ever since.

Paul recently exhibited his ongoing friendship with Daisy at the Gladiator II premiere in Los Angeles. While he approached Brittany Broski on the red carpet for an interview, he recognized her from her recent 'Royal Court' interview with Daisy:

"You were with Daisy!" he chimed in excitingly. We just love this power duo!

Enda Bowe/Hulu

Daisy Edgar-Jones also revealed that she's remained incredibly close to Paul Mescal after their time on Hulu's Normal People. "Paul is one of my lifetime best friends," she says. "He’s an incredibly grounded person and I am too, I think, so it’s nice to be able to have those touchstones and those people you can laugh about it with and be lighthearted with. We met when I was 20 and Paul was 22; I’m so excited to see where we’ll be at 32, 42, and what life will bring us."

But the coolest thing is that not only is Normal People special for Paul and Daisy, but they've also been able to see the effect of the show on its fans.

"The thing I love people saying the most is, 'It made me contact my ex,'" Daisy continues. "Especially when much older people say, 'I just wanted to reach out to the person I was with when I was 17 just to say you were a big part of my history and thanks for being part of who I am, the tapestry of my life.' And that I really love, because I’m a massive romantic."

Daisy recently revealed they bonded over their training for Twisters and Gladiator II.

"I did running lessons — isn’t that crazy?" she told Variety. "Actually, Paul [Mescal] and I were laughing about it, because he was training for 'Gladiator II' and I was training for 'Twisters,' and obviously he had to be huge and I was like, 'Don’t worry, I’m going to be right up there with you.'"

If you know me, you know I'm a die hard Outer Banks season 1 fan. I binge watched the entire thing with my family in 2020 while quarantining on the real OBX, I joined the Drew Starkey fan club the moment he stepped onscreen, and I was obsessed with JJ and Kiara way before the internet started shipping them. So, needless to say, I waited for Outer Banks season 4 with baited breath — especially when I heard rumors it would focus on JJ (Rudy Pankow) the way previous seasons had focused on John B. (Chase Stokes) in season 1, Pope (Jonathan Daviss) in season 2, and Kiara (Madison Bailey) in season 3.

I think season 1 will always be my favorite, but Outer Banks season 4 pleasantly surprised me. We're far enough into the show that we really care about the characters, and they have enough history with one another that we're invested in their decisions. Plus, returning to the OBX provided real-world stakes I could relate to as a viewer: family drama, dealing with bullies, and more. No matter whether you really love JJ, or you're always dreaming about your next beach vacation, here's whyOuter Banks season 4 absolutely NEEDS to be your weekend binge. (Serious spoilers ahead!!!)

Here's a full Outer Banks season 4 recap of every shocking detail you missed the first time around.

  • Outer Banks season 4 finally brings the cast back to the OBX.
  • John B., Sarah, Cleo, Pope, Kiara, and JJ are up against the Kooks — and other treasure hunters.
  • Season 4 feels more grounded and relatable than past seasons, making it a very strong installment.

We're Back On The Outer Banks!

Netflix

FINALLY! After a couple of seasons in the Caribbean and South America, Outer Banks is back, well, on the Outer Banks. Honestly, this automatically makes the season better because it provides a ton of familiarity, nostalgia, and comfort for readers. And it also provides a realistic, grounded aspect to the adventure. Because let's be honest, a group of teens hopping on a tiny plane and taking part in a jungle treasure hunt requires a little too much suspension of disbelief for me. Plus, just like Gossip Girl wouldn't be the same without Blair and Serena hitting up Bergdorf's, a Pogue beach & surfing day just feels right.

The Pogues Open Their Own Bait, Tackle, & Deep Sea Charter Business

Jackson Lee Davis/Netflix

The first episode of Outer Banks season 4 catches us up on that season 3 time jump. After learning how much money they actually have their hands on, the Pogues move into JJ's old house (renaming it "Poguelandia 2.0"), and open a bait, tackle, and charter shop. While I have a few questions about how six teens literally built a business without the help of a contractor, I love seeing this group lead regular lives. The shop plays into their strengths and allows them to cultivate their relationships in normal settings instead of life-or-death ones. Friendships are made in those boring moments, IMO.

The Group Is Searching For More Than Blackbeard's Treasure

Jackson Lee Davis/Netflix

After Outer Banks season 3, the one thing I said I didn't want the show to do was go into supernatural, ghost territory. And for a moment, I thought that's where we were going. Wes Genrette and his son-in-law Chandler Groff hire the Pogues to find Blackbeard's treasure, but it doesn't take long for them to realize they're in over their heads (again).

Wes is a direct descendent of Francis Genrette, the man responsible for killing Blackbeard and his wife Elizabeth. Now, Elizabeth haunts every generation of the Genrette family, and once she appears, you don't have long to live. Wes reveals his daughter Larissa (Chandler's late wife) saw Elizabeth a week before she died, and Wes himself has seen her, which means his days are numbered.

At the end of part 1, the Pogues are on a mission to find Elizabeth's amulet & break the curse, which also puts them on track to find the Blue Crown. Their race against Lightner and Dalia brings Pope, Cleo, Sarah, and John B. to Charleston — and leavesPope and Sarah trapped in a crypt as it slowly floods.

Turns out, Chandler Groff was behind the ghost murders the whole time, something Shoupe should have clocked a long time ago.

John B., JJ, And Their Friends Have A Beach Day Run-In With The Kooks

Netflix

Because so much of Outer Banks season 4 takes place on the OBX, it means John B., Sarah, JJ, Kie, Pope, and Cleo are once again clashing with Topper, Rafe, and the rest of the Kooks. Despite the fact this season features plenty of death-defying stunts, the scene that will stick with me the most is when the Pogues and Kooks wind up at the same beach access.

I audibly gasped when Ruthie, Topper's new girlfriend, plays chicken with the Pogues on the beach, almost hitting Kiara with her Jeep and running over a turtle hatch in the process. (IRL, protecting endangered sea turtles & their hatches are a big deal on the Outer Banks, so this definitely got a visceral reaction from me).

At the end of the day, the major (and arguably, the most painful) conflict of this teen drama is how the Kooks make the Pogues feel like they don't belong anywhere. And if you ask me, exploring this tension and these relationships is where the show truly shines.

Lightener Is Determined To Take Out The Pogues

Jackson Lee Davis/Netflix

That being said, I found the villains this season, Lightner and Dalia, to be way scarier than I expected — especially once Lightner killed Terrance and almost killed Cleo. Every time he showed up onscreen, my heart started pounding like he was chasing me! The thought of being stuck in my bait shop alone with a creepy guy, especially one brandishing a knife? Thank you, next.

Luke Returned To The Outer Banks

Jackson Lee Davis/Netflix

After JJ & Kiara said goodbye to JJ's dad Luke in Outer Banks season 2, he's been totally off the grid. Except, apparently, he hasn't? JJ learns Luke is back when he visits Barracuda Mike, but the father-son bonding quickly takes a turn for the crazy when Luke drops a piece of news that changes everything: he isn't JJ's biological father. Chandler Groff is.

JJ Has Actually Been A Kook This Whole Time

Netflix

JJ's entire character is based around the fact he's proud to be a Pogue. He hates the Kooks and everything they stand for, which is why when Luke reveals he isn't JJ's biological father, and that JJ is related to the Groff/Genrette clan, it totally sends JJ into orbit.

JJ Destroys Downtown

Jackson Lee Davis/Netflix

And by "sends JJ into orbit," I mean he literally destroys downtown Kildare...with a baseball bat (okay Steve Harrington!).

This Kook identity is something JJ's been running from the entire series — even before Kie had to reassure him that finding the gold didn't make them Kooks — and he's going to have to do some serious soul searching to figure out who he actually is now.

I was wholly sold on the theory Outer Banks 4 would reveal JJ and Sarah were siblings, but this is a pretty good alternative. And who knows? Maybe they're actually cousins.

Powers At Be Want To Bulldoze The Cut

Jackson Lee Davis/Netflix

If this show has proven anything, it's that the OBX is far from paradise. This season, some big names are trying to turn The Cut — including Poguelandia 2.0 — into an extension of the wealthier Figure Eight. Things get even more complicated when Hollis, who worked with Ward before he died, wants to trick Rafe into being her financial partner...and then gets his girlfriend Sofia to convince him to sign her contract.

Rafe Proposes To Sofia...And Then Breaks Up With Her

Jackson Lee Davis/Netflix

It doesn't take long for Rafe to learn Hollis tricked him. And despite proclaiming his love for Sofia, proposing, and telling her nothing could get in the way of their relationship, Rafe breaks up with her and kicks her out of his home the second he finds out she conned him. Messy, messy.

The one silver lining is that it sends Rafe back to Sarah and her friends! Is he finally turning into the kind and protective older brother fans want him to be?

Sarah Learns She's Pregnant

Jackson Lee Davis/Netflix

After she starts feeling sick, Sarah takes a pregnancy test that comes back positive...and Kiara immediately finds out. Despite the fact adding a baby to the Outer Banks dynamic is a wild concept, this is exactly the kind of domestic, sweet ending I would have hoped for Sarah and John B. And Kiara's statement that Sarah's going to be an amazing mom? I couldn't agree more.

The Pogues Head To Morocco

Jackson Lee Davis/Netflix

Remember how excited I was for the Pogues to return to the Outer Banks? Well, that doesn't last long because in the final episode of Outer Banks season 4, the group heads to Morocco to find the Blue Crown. It's definitely not smooth sailing, but I really love seeing John B. and Sarah, Pope and Cleo, and JJ and Kiara work in their pairs.

Rafe Begins His Redemption Arc

Jackson Lee Davis/Netflix

Drew Starkey admitted after season 1 that he didn't care whether Rafe got a redemption arc, and I agreed at the time. I found the idea of Rafe, who was so driven to please his father he'd literally murder for him, incredibly compelling. Plus, he's been the ringleader of the War on Pogues this whole time, so suddenly making him sympathetic towards them felt like backtracking on his character.

Rafe still has his moments (like saying he'd never date a Pogue after finding out Sofia was from The Cut), but now that him and Sarah are finally moving towards reconciling, it seems like we could actually be getting a Rafe redemption after all. But that doesn't mean I want Kiara and Rafe to get together. Let's keep things platonic people!!

JJ Dies In Kiara's Arms

Jackson Lee Davis/Netflix

If you're a fan of OBX, or you've been on the internet at all over the last week, then you already know where this is going. After the group splits up, it's total chaos. Pope ends up killing Lightener after Cleo's wounded, while JJ finds the Blue Crown.

When Chandler Groff threatens Kiara, JJ gives up the treasure in exchange for Kie — and Chandler kills him for no reason anyway. Fans went wild over the season 4 ending, and more than one told me they were heartbroken. Outer Banks will never be the same, that's for sure.

"Revenge"

Jackson Lee Davis/Netflix

After they bury JJ's body, the group gathers around a campfire and acknowledges that if any of them had died, JJ wouldn't rest until they were avenged. Kiara stands up, looks into the fire, and mutters "revenge" before the screen cuts to black.

Season 5 is going to be one wild ride, because based on Kiara's pure, white hot anger, and Rafe's love of all things vengeful, I can only imagine what kind of havoc this group is going to wreak on Chandler Groff.
