The Bachelor Recap: Cheers to Falling Asleep, You Guys

Are you ready to fall in love with Arie? I’m mostly ready to fall asleep watching this season’s The Bachelor. Arie seems like a nice enough guy but going on this journey with him is tough because the dude’s super boring! And who even knows if investing in Arie’s love journey will be worth it for him or us? Of course, this won’t be so much about America falling in love with Arie as America falling in hate with Chelsea, even if she maybe isn’t the villain we all want her to be.

There are 21 women left (gulp) and it’s lucky Becca K. gets the first one-on-one date! This is the only way I’m going to remember who Becca K. is. He whisks her away on a motorcycle to a mansion where surprise guest Rachel Zoe is on hand to give Becca a gown and remind us all that she still exists. After she also gets expensive shoes and jewelry, Becca K. tells Arie, “Your eyes suck… people in.” That pause is telling, girl. Do you really deserve those Louboutins? Arie and Becca K. make an emotional connection over dinner. She’s gone through hard times! He’s gone through hard times! They have soooo much in common, so, naturally she gets a rose.

Krystal gets the second one-on-one date and if the first episode painted Krystal as a genuine soul dedicated to fitness and the homeless, this episode is giving us a full view of just how annoying she is. She and Arie go on a date that is shockingly both weird and boring. He flies her to Scottsdale, Arizona to visit his home. His home. He takes her to his old high school and talks about how he was an art nerd who played instruments. She claims to have also been an art nerd who played instruments, but I’m going to need receipts. They then go to his house and watch his home videos. Arie. Arie. This is moving too fast and you have 20 other women to date!

And if that’s not enough, he takes her to meet his family. Week two and he takes a rando he just met to meet his whole Dutch family. It appears that these Dutch folk are not as emotionally available as Americans and certainly not as bubbly as… oh, what’s her name? Krystal! I need them all to wear name tags on their heads until I can keep them all straight. He later takes her to a historic theater in Scottsdale and since he has shown her his entire life and family and they’re basically married, she now has to tell him her deepest darkest secrets. She lays it all out about her absent father, emotionally distant mother, and troubled brother. Krystal has been through the works and I feel for her, but the previews for the rest of the season tell me I’ll learn to hate her so I’m just going to guard my heart over here while Arie gives her that rose.

Because this episode can’t be 20 hours long, 15 girls have to go on the next date, a demolition derby. Nothing like getting a bunch of women hungry for love in an arena to smash cars into each other. Annaliese, who had a traumatic bumper car experience, cries her way into Arie’s arms but ultimately gets in the car and does serious damage to the other girls’ cars. I think this might be an example of exposure therapy but it also might be exploitation. Forget it, Jake. It’s The Bachelor.

Brittany goes hardcore and ends up in the hospital with a concussion BECAUSE THIS IS DANGEROUS AND THEY SHOULDN’T HAVE DONE IT. But it’s all for love, right? Sienne smashes the cars the best and wins some extra attention from Arie, as boring as that may be. Before he gets time with Sienne, Chelsea steals time with Arie again to admit to him that she’s a single mom. Phew. Mystery solved! Arie appreciates her honesty or whatever and it looks like this villain is sticking around. Sienne, meanwhile, reveals that she went to Yale and between those smarts and car-destroying skills, there’s a spark there! At least I can remember who Sienne is.

As we get exhausted over how many women he has to meet with, some of the women get exhausted as well. Bibiana, in particular, says her “patience is being trialed” and storms off crying before getting to talk to him. Bekah M., perhaps more emotionally stable even if she’s maybe 18 years old, continues to impress Arie and they make out. Don’t rob that cradle, Kissing Bandit.

Krystal received a rose on her date but feels the need to have some one-on-one time with Arie. How dare she interrupt his time with one of the, like, 40 Laurens there! Bibiana, already very emotional, is definitely not having it when Krystal goes for seconds. She calls out Krystal and Krystal shrugs it off because she’s clearly invested in their relationship that’s moving way too fast. Bibiana tells Krystal that she just dug a “big a** hole” for herself, which sounds a little confusing but totally appropriate. Bibiana seems like she might be on the chopping block, but ultimately Lauren G., Jenny, and Valerie are sent home. Frankly, I could’ve just made up some names and you still wouldn’t know how got eliminated last night, but with only 18 women left, I think I’m ready to start thinking about investing in Arie’s search for love. Maybe.

10 Unexpected Life Lessons I Learned from Binge-Watching "The O.C." As an Adult

I don’t want to say that I didn’t appreciate The O.C. when it aired in real time in 2003, because I really did. I knew from the moment those haunting Phantom Planet lyrics started playing from my TV screen that I had something special. I knew from the moment that Ryan Atwood and Marissa Cooper locked eyes for the first time that I was about to witness a teen drama love story unlike any other one I’d seen. If I sound extra, it’s because I mean to be! As an awkward middle schooler, The O.C.‘s quippy dialogue and emotional scenes gave me an outlet for my adolescent emotions, and its top-notch soundtracks set the stage for teary nights in my room.

I recently embarked on my first binge-watch of the first season as an adult, and I was fascinated by the extent to which a little grown-up perspective changed my colorful Orange County world. Once totally enamored with Marissa and Summer’s wardrobes, I was now more concerned with the subtle relationship dynamics playing out on screen (okay, the fashion is still pretty incredible). Once too in love with Seth to see his flaws, I was now tuned into the way his social faux pas and self-absorption made him kind of a bad catch. The O.C. has plenty to teach tweens and adults, but here are just 10 of the life lessons I learned from my recent rewatch of the show's first season.

1. A homemade breakfast can cure anything that ails you — and is pretty much guaranteed to make you more popular in any situation

A major tension in the first few episodes is the conflict between Sandy and Kirsten Cohen about whether or not Ryan should be allowed to stay in that beautiful pool house on a more permanent basis. True to form, Sandy the “Crusader for Justice” wants to give the kid from Chino a shot, while Kirsten thinks he’d be better off in foster care. While Ryan’s homemade breakfast doesn’t mark the final conclusion to this conflict, it definitely eases tensions between him and Kirsten. It just goes to show — there are few things that perfectly scrambled eggs can’t fix!

2. Hiding from a problem is typically not the best solution

As any group of high schoolers — or, at least, any group of high schoolers with easy access to empty mansions — would do, Seth and Marissa decide that the best way to avoid having Ryan sent to foster care is to hide him in one of Kirsten and Caleb’s model homes. Great idea, right? Wrong! I’ll spare you the dramatic details of the fight, the fire, and the awkward revelations about the history between Marissa’s dad and Kirsten, but suffice to say that hiding from potential consequences is rarely the answer...even if you are planning to do it in a mansion.

3. Share your dreams with the people you love

While Seth is open with Ryan early in the season about his dream to sail alone to Tahiti, it’s unclear whether or not he’s been as clear with his parents about it. This comes back to bite him in the you-know-where later in the season (and into The O.C. season 2), when he decides to flee Newport in pursuit of his lone journey. Don’t you think it would’ve been handy for people to know his dreams so they could support him in a more meaningful way?

4. Be open about your exes

Oh, where do I begin with this one? There are countless instances in this series where untold secrets about a previous relationship rear their ugly head at very inopportune times for the people involved, but let’s call Ryan, Marissa, and Theresa Exhibit A. If Ryan had been honest with new flame Marissa about his romantic past in Chino from the get-go, he would have avoided an extremely uncomfortable Thanksgiving encounter...and who knows what else? If you’ve had a tendency to be cagey about your exes with a current bae, watching Ryan’s example should make you want to be more honest.

5. People are rarely as intimidating as you think they are

For years, Seth was so enamored with Summer that all he could do was pine for her and secretly bestow her name on his boat, but when they finally met and start flirting, he learns that he’s not the only student at The Harbor School who sleeps with a toy horse next to their bed. (Princess Sparkle and Captain Oats are still so meant to be.) Think of how much less time our boy Cohen would have spent feeling sorry for himself if he’d thought for even one second that Summer was potentially his own kind of dork.

6. It’s important to know when to bring in an expert

Marissa got in way over her head in The O.C. when she tried to tackle Oliver’s health issues on her own, and while she probably needed a real grown up, even adults can learn from the cautionary tale that played out in the penthouse of that fancy hotel. It’s important to learn what you can handle and what’s above your pay grade. There’s no shame in admitting that you can’t get through something on your own. Rather, there’s only shame in knowing that a problem exists and that you didn’t seek the help that’s really needed.

7. Making a choice is almost always necessary, even if it seems like you can have it all

Teenagers everywhere swooned at the thought of being in Seth’s shoes (Chuck Taylors, obviously) and having twoseemingly perfect suitors vying for their attention. Remember those awesome Chrismukkah gifts Seth got from both Summer and Anna? Well, it seemed too good to be true at the time…and it was, because in the end, Seth had to make a choice, and his inability to do so in the first place really damaged his credibility.

8. When people show you who they are, believe them the first time

Sandy and Kirsten spend a lot of time in The O.C. season 1 trying to put their faith in Caleb, even though he continually proved he couldn't be trusted. While it’s nice to give people the benefit of the doubt, this dysfunctional family dynamic should serve as a reminder to all of us that people’s actions speak a whole lot louder than their words.

9. It takes a lot longer to rebuild trust than it does to destroy it

Ryan is basically the poster child for trust issues, and every time he’s let down by one of his friends (ahem, Marissa), we get a front row seat to the inevitably long process of the aforementioned disappointing friend trying to win him back. Life would be much easier — and TV much less interesting, I guess — if we didn’t tamper with people’s trust in the first place.

10. Appreciate family members and all of their quirks

No relationship better demonstrates this truth in The O.C. than that between the Cohen family and The Nana. By the time Sandy’s mother has arrived in Newport, we’ve already been treated to tons of family folklore about how intimidating and, well, mean she is. So when we find out later in the episode (spoiler alert!) that she actually has cancer, it’s like a punch to the gut for us too. This particular emotional roller coaster should serve as a lesson to us all that it’s important to appreciate the good, the bad, and the ugly in our family members because our time with them isn’t guaranteed.

10 Movies We're Devastated To See Leave Netflix This April

When Netflix refreshes its content library each month, viewers everywhere are presented with shiny new titles to choose from. But at the same time, we're also forced to say goodbye to others.

April is no exception, and several fan favorites across genres are slated to leave the streaming platform. So, if you've been meaning to rewatch the classic rom-com Love Actually or check out Hereditary, the horror film that had everyone talking in 2018, now is the time.

Here are five titles that have already departed the streaming giant as of April 1 and where else you can find them now, as well as five more that you can still watch before they're gone for good on Netflix.

1. Interstellar

Christopher Nolan's Interstellar is a sci-fi epic that explores survival, sacrifice, and the unknown of space. Set in a future where Earth is becoming uninhabitable, the film follows former NASA pilot Cooper, played by Matthew McConaughey, as he embarks on a mission through a wormhole to find a new home for humanity.

If you missed this blockbuster 2014 movie before it left Netflix on April 1, don't worry. You can still catch it on Peacock, Paramount+, and Prime Video.

2. Happy Feet

Happy Feet quickly became a heartwarming childhood classic after it premiered in 2006. The animated film tells the story of Mumble, an emperor penguin who, unlike his peers, can't carry a tune. However, he makes up for it with his top-notch tap-dancing skills.

As Mumble struggles to fit in, his story teaches viewers about self-acceptance and embracing individuality. Happy Feet departed Netflix on April 1 but is available on Apple TV and Prime Video.

3. Rush Hour

Rush Hour is an action-comedy movie that pairs martial arts legend Jackie Chan with Chris Tucker for a ridiculously funny adventure. The plot centers around the kidnapping of a Chinese diplomat's daughter in Los Angeles, prompting a Hong Kong Detective named Lee, played by Jackie Chan, to be sent to the United States.

Yet, the FBI doesn't want anything to do with Lee, so they stick him with eccentric LAPD Detective Carter, played by Chris Tucker. Even though the pair has their differences, they wind up learning to work together in order to crack the case.

Unfortunately, all three Rush Hour movies are no longer on Netflix as of April 1. To catch up on this film series, rent them on Prime Video.

4. Love Actually

Love Actually came out over two decades ago, in 2003, but despite its age, the movie has remained a holiday favorite. It weaves together nine interconnecting stories that explore the many forms of love.

From a newly elected prime minister, played by Hugh Grant, falling for a junior staffer to a sister struggling to balance family and romance, the plot captures both the joys and complexities of relationships.

If you missed this feel-good film before it said goodbye to Netflix, you can still find it on Prime Video and Apple TV.

5. Space Jam

Space Jam is a '90s classic that brought together basketball legend Michael Jordan and the iconic Looney Tunes.

When an evil alien theme park owner named Swackhammer sends his minions to capture Bugs Bunny and the rest of the gang to serve as an attraction at the park, Bugs challenges them to a basketball game to win their freedom. The stakes get tougher when the aliens steal the skills of NBA stars like Charles Barkley and Larry Bird, so Michael Jordan steps in to help.

Space Jam may have vanished from Netflix, but it's still available to stream on Hulu, Paramount+, Prime Video, and Apple TV.

6. A Quiet Place Part II

This gripping sequel, which came out in 2020, thrusts viewers back into the post-apocalyptic world created by John Krasinski, who wrote, directed, and co-produced the film. There, silence is key to survival because blind aliens that hunt by sound have taken over.

In A Quiet Place Part II, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Millicent Simmons, and Noah Jupe appear in the same roles, along with newcomers Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou. Be sure to watch it before it leaves Netflix on April 12, or catch it later on Paramount+, Prime Video, and Apple TV.

7. Hereditary

Written and directed by Ari Aster, Hereditary is a psychological horror that earned its place as a modern classic. In fact, it boasts a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which isn't easy to come by.

Hereditary follows a family who, after the death of their secretive grandmother, start experiencing eerie and unsettling events. This film is set to leave Netflix on April 15, and following its departure, you can watch it on Prime Video and Apple TV.

8. The Legend of Korra

The world quickly fell in love with Avatar: The Last Airbender when it was first released in 2005. The Legend of Korra is a continuation and centers around a fearless girl named Korra, who steps into her role as the new Avatar.

Set 70 years after Aang's time, Korra arrives in Republic City to master airbending when she finds herself caught in the middle of political unrest and a rising anti-bending movement.

The Legend of Korra features stunning animations and complex themes, but sadly, all four seasons of the show are leaving Netflix on April 16. After that, you can watch them on Paramount+, Prime Video, or Apple TV.

9. No Hard Feelings

No Hard Feelings is a raunchy yet surprisingly heartwarming comedy that stars Jennifer Lawrence as Maddie, a woman on the verge of losing her childhood home. So, she takes on an unusual job: dating a shy, awkward 19-year-old, played by Andrew Barth Feldman, to help him break out of his shell before college.

This rom-com is filled with sharp humor, but it'll no longer be on Netflix following April 21. Stream it before then or catch it afterward on Prime Video and Apple TV.

10. Minions

Finally, Minions, which came out in 2015, is actually a prequel to the 2010 film Despicable Me. It follows the yellow creatures as they search for a new villain to serve, ultimately landing on Scarlet Overkill.

Minions is an enjoyable watch for people of all ages. Catch it before it leaves Netflix on April 25, or find it afterward on Prime Video and Apple TV.

‘Bachelor’ Season 23 Finale Recap, Part 2: What Happened Between Colton and Cassie? (Spoilers)

It seems like a lifetime ago that we were watching season 23 Bachelor star Colton Underwood roam the Portugal countryside after being rejected by the one woman he apparently loves. But according to the laws of time and Chris Harrison, it was yesterday. Still, we’ve all seen and been through a lot since then, so let’s start from the beginning — or, as it were, the beginning of the end.

(Warning: This post contains spoilers from the Tuesday, March 12, episode of The Bachelor. If you have not seen the season 23 finale and don’t want to know what happens, stop reading here.)

Unlike with past seasons, the question tonight wasn’t who Colton would pick or even whether he was engaged, since that seemed like a long-shot. Instead, it was whether the woman he had already chosen would choose him back.

Going into Tuesday’s finale, Colton was completely single, having broken up with both Tayshia Adams and Hannah Godwin in order to pursue Cassie Randolph, who left the show after telling him she wasn’t in love with him. In the final moments of Monday’s episode, we saw him approach her door — right before the cameras cut away to host Chris Harrison.

Fortunately, the show jumped immediately back into the action on Tuesday. Cassie answered the door, visibly shocked to see Colton, and agreed to talk outside, where he revealed that he had broken up with Tayshia and Hannah on the off-chance that she would give their relationship another chance. “I’m not telling you that I love you. I want to show you,” he declared.

And just like that, they were seemingly back on track. Cassie said she still had some reservations and didn’t know what she was ready for, which is why she had broken up with him in the first place, but she was clearly moved by his gesture and agreed to travel to Spain to meet his family.

Understandably, though, there was some apprehension on both sides — Cassie’s and his family’s — about the unexpected change in plans. Cassie worried what his family would think of the situation, since she had (very recently) dumped Colton, and his family worried that he was setting himself up to be hurt by her again. (Honestly, same.) They had a lot of questions for her, particularly about what his mom called her “decision to bail,” but to her credit, she answered them honestly, admitting she didn’t know what the future held for them and wasn’t totally on the same page with Colton yet.

Colton, for his part, tried to reassure his parents that she was worth it and he had every hope that she would eventually fall in love with him. But it seemed like he was trying to convince himself and Cassie, too.

Fortunately, he had one more date to get her fully on board. After driving around Mallorca, Spain, for a bit, they arrived at the shore, where they rappelled down an oceanside cliff to get to a picnic, as Colton mused, in voiceover, about taking risks for love, even when there’s no safety net. (A little on the nose, ABC.)

Once they were back on solid ground again, Cassie confessed some of her fears about relationships. (Apparently, she had a college boyfriend who became controlling.) She said she worried she wouldn’t have the freedom to be herself anymore, but Colton said he loved her because she was herself. “More than ever, I feel how much Colton loves me,” she said in a confessional after the fact. “And I think I’m starting to kind of accept it.” Not the most romantic response, but okay.

Later that night, at dinner, Colton pulled out the invitation to the Fantasy Suite. To no one’s surprise, she said yes, and after a few minutes of on-camera kissing, Colton broke the fourth wall, told the crew members he loved them, and then promptly kicked them out — only to emerge a few minutes later to ask them to de-mic him. As the sound engineers walked away, one of them wished Colton good luck, and then he and Cassie disappeared behind closed doors.

At this point in the episode, the show took a break and invited Ben Higgins, Jason Tartick, Chris Randone, and season 23 contestants Onyeka, Demi, and Sydney to discuss what Colton and Cassie may or may not have done in the Fantasy Suite. (Note to Bachelor producers: Please don’t do this in the future.) Thankfully, most of them seemed to agree that the question of Colton’s virginity was not nearly as important as the question of Cassie’s commitment.

Which brings us to the next morning. Colton kept the details of their night together private, saying only that they did what was best for their relationship. And in case you were worried — we were! — that relationship is still going strong.

Colton and Cassie made their first appearance as a couple during the live portion of the finale, and a giggly, giddy Cassie told everyone they’re “super in love.” They’ve even talked about getting engaged. Cassie said nothing’s holding her back now, but Colton said they’re just enjoying dating, so there’s no ring yet, but it sounds like there might be one in the not-too-distant future.

For now, he’s living near her in LA and they’re making plans to travel over the next year. “I feel like the luckiest girl in the world,” she gushed to Chris.

That would have been a good place to end the show, but Chris couldn’t let them go without asking point-blank whether Colton had lost his virginity. He declined to share — honestly, good for him — so Chris ended the interview by introducing a performance from Air Supply, which… made about as much sense as anything else this season. Kylie and Jason welcomed their fourth daughter March 30, according to PEOPLE, but an official announcement was shared via the couple's joint Instagram post on April 1. "Whoop, there she is! Finnley “Finn” Anne Kelce 3/30/25," reads Kylie's caption and we think it's the cheekiest way to describe her arrival.

The subsequent photos of Finnley are just as cute as she's seen wearing the cutest floral onesie and being held by her parents. Call us biased, but she has the most precious face we've ever seen. Even her uncle Travis thinks so!

PEOPLEalso reports the NFL player incredulously told his brother how much he wanted to see Finnley after the latter asked how he felt. "Yes, I want to see my new niece, Jason! You only sent one picture. You didn’t even tell me what name you picked yet."

But his complaints stopped the minute Jason showed him Finnley during their latest New Heights podcast episode. Travis immediately melted and said, "Hey, little muffin! Look at you. You hanging out with Mom? Tell Ky I said hello. I’m glad everything’s going great." He even thinks her name is "adorable."

Kylie Kelce shared the huge news on Instagram November 22nd! Of course grandma Donna Kelce was the first to leave a comment. She wrote, "🔥🔥🔥🔥😍😍😍 Love it!!!" Brittany Mahomes also commented by writing, "Ahhhhhh Congrats you guys!!!🥹🤍."

In Kylie's same Instagram post, her and Jason's daughters can be seen expressing a range of emotions. There's an 'Eek' expression from their oldest daughter Wyatt, a happy look from their middle daughter Elliott, and pure tears from baby girl Bennett. Kylie wrote, "I feel like we captured a very accurate representation of how each of the girls feel about getting another sister. At least Ellie, mom and dad are on the same page! 🤷♀️"

How did Jason and Kylie prepare to be a family of six?

Jason Kelce took the news of being an official girl dad like a champ. He told E! Newshe's "got it pretty easy" because "the clothes are all going to be hand-me-downs or already bought." Not only that, but they'd already secured a baby crib prior to their newborn's birth.

“I love my kids so much, and especially my daughters,” he added. "I was telling somebody out there because they're expecting their first — and they look at you. They smile at you. There's just a way that kids have to warm your soul in a way that nothing else can.”

He also shared his excitement about watching his daughters grow up with a new sibling. "And hopefully we'll welcome a fourth into this world, and we'll be able to watch them fight and tear each other apart and all the good stuff."

He even appeared on The Rich Eisen Show where he joked, "I'm screwed [in] like in 10 years. The moment they’re all in middle school, I feel like it’s just gonna be chaos." He also hopes Wyatt "can start helping out a little bit more." But, he's still looking forward to it! "I obviously have not had a son, but there is something about a daughter in the way I think as a dad, you feel an extra amount probably of protection and love toward that child," he shared.

What did Kylie say about her fourth pregnancy?

Kylie previously opened up on her new podcast, Not Gonna Lie, about her feelings on her fourth pregnancy. At the time, she said she was "so incredibly grateful to be able to get pregnant, but it is a means to an end." She further said, "When I tell you that I cannot stand being pregnant, I mean it. I don't have a a fun time."

If that sounds a little uh...negative, it actually makes a lot more sense when she explained more! She elaborated, "I am nauseous for most of my pregnancy. It tapers off a little after the first trimester, but I continue to have nausea throughout my pregnancy." Woof, I know that's tough!

Kyle continued by explaining she hasn't even really had the fun, wacky cravings many pregnant people get — instead she had more "aversions" in each of her pregnancies. I'll take cravings over aversions any day!

The podcast host then joked, "When you're super pregnant and someone comes up to you and says, 'Isn't this just the most beautiful thing ever? 'I want to punch you in the face. I'm not going to, but I want to."
