The Bachelor Recap: Nick Viall Gave Us the Bombshell Rose Ceremony We Didn’t See Coming

*Warning: This post contains spoilers from the most recent episode of The Bachelor, so if you haven’t seen it, don’t read ahead.*

Last week ended on a cliffhanger, with a knock at Nick Viall’s door like a ghost from Christmas past. Turns out, it was. The last time Nick was with ex-paramour Andi Dorfman in a hotel room, it was to break up, so this promises DRAMA. While Andi is currently single IRL, I personally doubt she’s there to ask Nick for another chance. Let’s also keep in mind that our bachelor hasn’t yet sent someone home from last week’s dates as we jump into this episode (which has also been shortened to an hour, just FYI)…

NEW YORK, NY - FEBRUARY 10: Andi Dorfman attends the Nicole Miller collection Front Row during, New York Fashion Week: The Shows at Gallery 2, Skylight Clarkson Sq on February 10, 2017 in New York City. (Photo by Astrid Stawiarz/Getty Images For New York Fashion Week: The Shows)

ANDI DRAMA AND THE ROSE CEREMONY

Upon entering the hotel room, Andi sat down and immediately asked for a drink (she’s apparently a whiskey girl). The other women began simultaneously arriving in the courtyard outside for the rose ceremony, which was incredibly awkward (but that’s editing for you). Nick and Andi still seemed to have a bit of their usual witty rapport going on, but that also could have been nerves and alcohol rather than a romantic spark. Then, however, we see him tell her he’s really happy with his final four, and that he thinks it’s seriously going to work. She asked if he’s going to sleep with any of them, and he replies that he doesn’t know. She tells him that if there’s an opportunity for it and he honestly thinks that person may be the one, he should go for it.

It was an interesting assessment to be sure, considering the fact that he more or less slut-shamed Andi on live TV for having sex with him when she didn’t end up picking him. They ended up talking it out, and it felt like they finally got closure in that moment. Nick said that he was “very grateful that [Andi] wants [me] to find love,” which was sweet.

Meanwhile, the women were still waiting outside in the cold, and Nick finally emerged from his suite to hand out the roses (but not before they each got some screen time to talk about their hometown dates and how much they love Nick). Raven got the first rose, followed by Rachel. Then, Chris Harrison came out of the bushes to announce the obvious (there’s one more rose, everyone!), and Vanessa was the lucky recipient.

The ultimate shock came, however, as Corrine, everyone’ s favorite Bachelor villain, did NOT hear her name called, with the internet letting out a collective scream as her tearful goodbye unfolded. Nick assured her that she hadn’t done anything wrong, and that he had “so much love for her” before she left, but it did little to ease the sting, as she proclaimed in the car that she would “never kiss up to a man ever again in her life.” TBH, I feel pretty bad for her. She seems like someone who has never been told “no” before, and this will be a pretty rough wake-up call. She went on to say that she was “done trying to impress men” and that she was “going to be her” from now on, so we’ll see if it’s a brand new Corinne we see at the Women Tell All show.

RAVEN’S FANTASY SUITE DATE

The next morning, Nick and the remaining contestants jetted off to Finland (nice!), where he shared that “all of his memories in this world” ended in heartbreak (odd?), and that he was hoping for a new ending (duh!). Finland looks… cold, but I guess that provides a lot of cuddling opportunities, which is great for what we’re ultimately trying to accomplish here. The first date was with Raven, and they started by taking a helicopter ride over some snow-capped trees, which actually looked really beautiful.

They then went to a cozy little pub and played darts (Raven won, by the way). Nick said being with her made him feel excited and “crazy” but in a “great fun way,” like “salty and sweet” (???). They sat down by the fire and talked about their recent visit to her hometown. Nick said that he could tell she was really close with her father, which he could relate to, as he’s close with his mom. They also discussed the more mundane things in life, like doing laundry, cooking, and folding clothes — Nick mentioned he’s fantastic at ironing (which somehow I would’ve guessed? Don’t ask me how).

Soon, they began skirting around the issue of the fantasy suite (Freudian slip — I almost just typed “fanasty suite,” so there’s that) and he asked her if and why she’s nervous. Cut to the confessional, where she revealed that she’s really only had sex with one person, and also that she’s also never had an orgasm before (!). She mentioned that she thought it might’ve been because she didn’t really trust her last partner, and that things might be different next time around. (Side note: It’s kind of awesome that they’re talking about this on The Bachelor, considering the show has typically been pretty judgmental about sex in past seasons).

The two later met up again at a cabin-like setting, presumably after freshening up, and sat down to dinner. Nick was wearing what could only be described as a severe turtleneck with Raven decked out in the opposite — an off-the-shoulder look. She decided to get deep, and told Nick that while she thought she had been in love in her last relationship, she’d never said it, even after two years. She then told Nick that the way she feels about him, she never felt about her ex. She eventually said it was easy to love him, and that she wished she’d told him sooner. Though he didn’t say it back, they kissed, with Nick assuring her that it was incredibly meaningful and sweet.

After Nick read the fantasy card, she gently reminded him that she’s only been with one person and dropped her orgasm bombshell on him (which we already knew, but he didn’t). He seemed rather speechless, and was also blushing, but they still decided to spend the night together anyways — who knows what that night would entail, however. Raven said that she thought the night would “seal the deal on the relationship,” (an interesting choice of words), and with that, it was all over.

NEXT WEEK

Get ready, Bachelor fans, ’cause we’re heading into the next week (a three-hour “Bachelor Event,” oh my!) with not-so-subtle reminders that Rachel is the only one who hasn’t said she loves him yet. A preview suggests that Nick is less traditional than Vanessa, and that Kristina may still be broken-hearted. We’ll see! There’s also a Women Tell All episode to look forward to, so look out for that.

After only two episodes of Only Murders in the Building season 4, Hulu renewed the series for season 5! I'm so excited that the show breaks a recent pattern of cancelling shows after the third or fourth season, giving us more time with our favorite characters, and I'm not the only one.

"Here we go again… my favorite set family. I’m coming home!" Selena Gomez says in an Instagram post, while the official Only Murders account made their own post, saying, "We had our lawyers call business affairs. Turned the 4 into a 5. #OnlyMurdersInTheBuilding is coming back for Season 5!!"

Here's everything you need to know about Only Murders in the Building season 5, coming to Hulu soon.

What is Only Murders in the Building season 5 about?

Patrick Harbron/Disney

Only Murders in the Building Season 5 Plot

We finally got our first details about Only Murders season 5 — and we're going in a direction I totally didn't expect. When Sofia visits Mabel and Charles in the season 4 ending, and asks them to find her missing husband, she's disappointed when they turn her down. And since Téa Leoni just joined the season 5 cast, it looks like she's not taking no for an answer.

“I think she’s the great tease at the end of the finale and a little bit of an intriguing bump forward,” co-creator John Hoffman says in an interview with Deadline. “She’s an extension of the little news report in Episode 9 that Mabel makes note of at the hospital. [Sofia] is the wife of the Dry Cleaning King of Brooklyn, and maybe a couple of dry cleaning outlets in Manhattan, as well, we may come to know...It’s a world opened up potentially that we haven’t talked about too much yet in New York, so she holds a lot of intrigue.”

Patrick Harbron/Hulu

New York's underground is a wild space that we haven't really seen on Only Murders yet so I know we're in for one very interesting season — because if this show is going to go there, they're going to go there.

Executive producer Dan Fogelman told The Wrapwe can look forward to “another big fun mystery the writers have been cooking up," while Hoffman has gone on the record saying the new episodes will “hit on some very current things going on within New York, specifically very relevant things that are happening in the city right now.”

When is Only Murders in the Building season 5 coming out?

Only Murders in the Building Season 5 Release Date

According to The Wrap, Only Murders is looking to begin production on season 5 in March of 2025. Considering we've had a new season over the last four years (with season 1 in 2021, season 2 in 2022, season 3 in 2023, and season 4 in 2024), we're expecting to see season 5 in 2025. Stay tuned for the official Only Murders in the Building season 5 release date.

Who's in Only Murders in the Building season 5?

Eric McCandless/Disney

Only Murders in the Building Season 5 Cast

The cast of Only Murders in the Building includes Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin. Téa Leoni will also return as Sofia Caccimelio, whose husband Nicky has gone missing.

According to Dan Fogelman, “we can expect more big guest stars that’ll probably be announced sooner rather than later,” he tells The Wrap.

Season 3 featured Ashley Park, Paul Rudd, Meryl Streep, and Jesse Williams, while season 4 stars Streep, Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, Kumail Nanjiani, Desmin Borges, Siena Werber, Lilian Rebelo, and Molly Shannon.

"I am so grateful that I have been surrounded by human beings that make me better, challenge me, remind me day after day that every moment is a gift," Selena Gomez says about working with Martin and Short. "That’s my pure joy. I thank god for the era I’m in. It’s been the best yet."

Will there be an Only Murders in the Building season 5?

Patrick Harbron/Hulu

Yes, Only Murders in the Building has been renewed for season 5! On September 4, Variety confirmed the next installment will have 10 episodes, just like the seasons before it. The latest season premiered on Hulu August 27, and will last until October 29 (just in time to try out an Only Murders Halloween costume!)

Just like the season 3 ending set up season 4, we'll have to wait for the October finale to figure out what kind of mayhem Mabel, Oliver, and Charles will get into next season. "We hope you like it!" Selena Gomez says in the Only Murders in the Building account's announcement, while Martin Short adds, "How exciting is that?"

"We're so exciting to be coming back," Steve Martin says. We're excited too!!

Audiences loved the way Greta Gerwig's Little Women brought all four March sisters to life, and Netflix's Anne with an E became so popular that when the show was canceled after season 3, 1.7 million fans signed a petition to revive the series. It all just proves that classic adaptations can make the original story even more powerful.

And the newest movie based on a book is going to be one we think about forever — and not just because of its cast. Emerald Fennell (who you'll recognize from The Crown and her work as writer & director on Satburn) is adapting Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights and Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi are leading the cast!

The book, published in 1847, continues to grip readers, and it's become the blueprint for moody complexity — just like Emerald Fennell's Promising Young Woman, which won the Oscar for Best Screenplay thanks to its scathing look at sexual assault. Well, the Em's are coming together for this new adaptation.

Here's everything we know about Emerald Fennell's Wuthering Heights — and your first look at the movie.

Here's Your First Look At 'Wuthering Heights'

The first look at Emerald Fennell's Wuthering Heights is getting some seriously mixed reactions. The photo features a close-up image of someone (maybe Margot Robbie's) with their fingers and a few blades of grass in their mouth.

"CAN NOT WAIT," one Instagram user said, along with a couple fire emojis. But the intimate (and somewhat shocking) image also has some users asking, "what in the saltburn?"

Is Wuthering Heights going to be in theaters?

Focus Features

It appears director Emerald Fennell and producer Margot Robbie are pushing for a theatrical release, which is why they've reportedly turned down a Netflix offer of $150 million.

Despite the fact Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said theatrical releases are "just not our business," and the company has stuck to at-home streaming instead, they did break that pattern for Knives Out: Glass Onion in 2022. The movie appeared in around 600 theaters the day before Thanksgiving, but left a week later ahead of its December 23 debut on the streamer.

Co-CEO Reed Hastings told The Hollywood Reporter that keeping the movie in theaters could have made Netflix more money, but later said they just wanted to "break through the noise" and get movie lovers excited for the film to come to Netflix.

All that to be said, Margot Robbie (whose Barbie made over $1 billion worldwide) and Emerald Fennell (whose Promising Young Woman nabbed her an Oscar win and two other nominations) know how to capture the imaginations of movie lovers everywhere. And it could definitely be in their favor to stick to a theatrical release. Stay tuned for official news on where you can watch Wuthering Heights!

Wuthering Heights Cast

The Wuthering Heights movie will be led by Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie as Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw, respectively. Margot will also produce with her production company LuckyChap, which worked behind the scenes on Emerald Fennell's Saltburn and Promising Young Woman.

While some fans were initially excited about the casting, others were concerned about the fact that in the book, Heathcliff is described as "dark skinned." He also tells Nelly that, "I wish I had light hair and a fair skin, and was dressed, and behaved as well, and had a chance of being as rich as he will be!" Um, it looks like Jacob Elordi definitely has fair skin to me.

"Heathcliff is described as a dark-skinned brown man in the book and a major plot point is that he was subjected to racist abuse by his adopted family," one tweet (which has over 8 million views) says. "But yeah sure Jacob Elordi is perfect!"

Another says, "Film studios will say 'We are committed to diverse casting' and then cast Jacob Elordi to play Heathcliff, one of the more famous people of color in literature, whose race is crucial to both his character and the story."

Check back here to see who will play characters like Edgar Linton, Nelly Dean, Isabella Linton, and Lockwood.

When is Wuthering Heights coming out?

Warner Bros. Pictures

Wuthering Heights Release Date

Wuthering Heights will premiere on February 14, 2026. Happy Valentine's Day!

What is Wuthering Heights about?

Wuthering Heights Plot

Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights follows the Earnshaws and the Lintons, who are living in the Yorkshire Moors in the 1880s. Their lives change forever when the Earnshaws take in Heathcliff. Like any good dramatic novel, passion lies beneath proper connections, marriages, and societal expectations — and despite Catherine and Heathcliffe's feelings for each other, they have to choose between security and love.

The highly-anticipated A Court of Thorns and Roses movie may be canceled, but Sarah J. Maas pulled an uno reverse card that makes up for it. ACOTAR book 6 is in the works and may be here within the next year! As immense lovers of Onyx Storm, we're willing to set that series aside in favor of this one. Call it a hot take, but we think it has arguably one of the best takes onromantasy.

If you're just as excited as we about a new ACOTAR book, let's chat about what's to come!

Everything to know about Sarah J. Maas' plans for the ACOTAR universe, plus fan theories about book 6 👀

Is 'ACOTAR' a BookTok famous series?

Amazon

BookTok is the reason we love the ACOTAR series so much. All it takes is a quick search on TikTok to see how many fan theories, memes, and hot takes exist within its realm. Have an intense dislike for the way Feyre's siblings failed her after their mother died? There's a video for that. Want to see hilarious depictions of the Suriel? You won't be disappointed!

But, I've never read anything in the series? What's it about?

We thought you'd never ask! A Court of Thorns and Roses introduces readers to the thin line that separates humankind from the mythical world, but boundaries are crossed when a young woman named Feyre unknowingly commits a grave offense. As her family's only hope for survival, she slays a wolf who happens to be a close friend of one of the many high fae in ACOTAR.

As repayment for her "terrible" deed, she's whisked away from everything she knows to live the rest of her life in the spring court. But Feyre soon learns that politics and evil aren't just relegated to humans because she's subject to torment that turns her into what's she still trying to understand.

Throughout each book, we watch as Feyre comes to grips with who she thought she could trust, her perception of herself, and the consequences of each choice she makes.

Knowing this, what will ACOTAR book 6 be about?

Don't panic, but ACOTAR'ssixth book doesn't have a plot yet! The only sliver of hope we have stems from Sarah J. Maas' appearance on the TODAY show last year. She said, "I know much more about what’s happening in this one. And then the next book in that series, I have the ideas and general, vague thoughts. But the nitty gritty of writing and the emotional journeys with the characters — I usually love to go on those journeys with them.”

Has Sarah J. Maas shared a release date for ACOTAR book 6?

Sorry, but she hasn't shared a release date for ACOTAR book 6 either! The TODAY show speculates "readers will have to wait a year or two" which makes sense.

What theories do fans have about the next book?

Fans believe Sarah J. Maas dropped a massive hint about what to expect in her collab video with Spotify last year. Instagram user @just.innis wrote, "Hear me out: spilled the tea, spring, two rings on the same fingers (rose and blue), flowers and doors behind her, "a looong book" ("...Azriel’s wings are the biggest." if you know what I mean), soon... 👀📚🤯."

If you're not familiar, E! News reported this could be an indication that Feyre's sister Elain and Azriel, one of Rhysand's right-hand-men, will get the love story fans have been waiting for. Most fans are in agreement because this Reddit thread dives deeper into the potential lore. @plantsandanimalsdude wrote, "I think …. Elain will decide to reject her mating bond and choose Azriel, taking control over her life after losing her humanity and engagement to a man SHE chose."

A separate Reddit thread starts off with a belief ACOTAR book 6 will be a follow-up to Nesta's story (Feyre and Elain's eldest sister). User@PrestigiousFun782wrote, "...it's pretty clear that Nesta's plot is not done yet. For that my theory is that she will learn a lot about her powers and maybe she would leave the night court..."

However, nothing's set in stone. The only thing Sara J. Maas promised is that ACOTAR book 6 is "going to be a long book."

OMG, I want to catch up on ACOTAR! Where do I start?

Amazon

  • A Court of Thorns and Roses(Book One) — An introduction to Feyre, the high faes, and danger!
  • A Court of Mist and Fury(Book Two) — An exploration of Feyre's conflicted feelings about marrying Tamlin, her growing understanding of Rhysand, and an even darker evil
  • A Court of Wings and Ruin (Book Three) — A tale of 'sleeping with the enemy' to gain important intel that'll save Feyre's new home, albeit with damning consequences that changes everything
  • A Court of Frost and Starlight (Book Four) — A story of rebuilding and healing after mass devastation
  • A Court of Silver Flames (Book Five) — A close look at Nesta Acheron's journey as she learns to accept who she is, how she'll spend the rest of her life, and who she'll come to love
