It’s been two days since the finale of season 20 of The Bacheloraired and by now, we all know that Ben has picked Lauren B. over JoJo Fletcher. Sadly, TV’s most romantic reality show is over for another season. Now that Lauren’s and Ben’s engagement has been announced to the world, fans of the show are left with a The Bachelor-sized hole in their hearts. Luckily, we’ve always got plenty of Netflix and TV show and movie recs handy. Plus, you know what they say: The only way to get over one show is to start binging another. So, in that spirit, we’ve got five other shows if you need an immediate rebound. Good luck out there.
One of the best things about reality television is the authentic portrayal of people as less-than-perfect. For those that loved The Bachelor for its portrayal of sometimes-crazy people in love, Judd Apatow’s Netflix original Love should be the perfect binge replacement. It’s basically guaranteed that these two characters will make you scream at your screen just as many times as the reality TV contestants. (Photo via Netflix)
IF YOU’RE A SUCKER FOR ROMANCE, Stream BRIDE & PREJUDICE
Bride & Prejudice premiered Tuesday on FYI, and the season looks like it’s going to be gripping. The docuseries examines what happens when families don’t approve of a loved one’s S.O. — for reasons of race, religion or sexual orientation. The series looks like it’s going to highlight all that’s best about reality TV: providing a glimpse into the lives of real and authentic people and perhaps even reveal some certain human truths. Plus, it looks really entertaining. (Photo via FYI)
IF YOU LOVE TO HATE REALITY TV, Stream UNREAL
Everybody knows that reality TV shows aren’t reality, but sometimes it’s easy to forget just how staged the whole thing can be. UnREAL from Lifetime is a scripted show that makes fun of the whole stereotype, especially The Bachelor. The show’s witty, thought-provoking, a little dark and will let you indulge in “reality TV” with none of the guilt. It’s available for immediate streaming on Amazon. (Photo via Lifetime)
