It’s Time to Talk About Your Yoni!

In honor of International Women’s Day, let’s devote our attention to a much-needed topic of discussion — yonis! The term, Sanskrit for vulva, represents in Hinduism the power associated with the goddess Shakti and is known to be the most sacred term to describe our womb.

So what better time than today to connect to and celebrate your power. Keep scrolling through the latest edition of the Beauty Fix to find out everything you need to know and have to activate our creativity by honoring who we are.

THE YONI EDITION

1. Yoni Honey, Sensual Stimulator: Yoni honey was designed by Maria Talbot, founder of Mountain Original Medicinals ($50). The therapeutic blend of manuka honey (which heals and balances the pH), coconut oil, and full extract cannabis oil offers healing, stimulating, and aphrodisiac benefits.

2. Yoni Crystal, Sacral Chakra Stone: “Yoni Crystals are about serving the yoni temple. What happens when women are empowered to do this? The world lights up!” says Chelsey Lehl, founder and shee-e-oh of Yoni Crystals. These semi-precious stones are carved into egg shapes to tap into our sacral womb space for healing, pleasure, and activating our source of creativity. The practice of yoni eggs has been around for over two thousand years and was originally exclusive to empresses. You can check out the minerals, different shapes and sizes, as well as the rituals and meditations that can be used for this practice.

3. Fur, the Full Frontal: How you choose to outfit your yoni is completely up to you. The Fur Full Frontal ($80) is a kit that consists of Stubble Cream, Fur Oil, and Ingrown Concentrate. Each works with the other to soften hair, clear pores, and prevent ingrowns.

4. My Days, Cycle Tracker: Follow your cycle with apps like My Days — Period and Ovulation. This option allows you to input when you were intimate as well as the beginning and end of your cycle, and any symptoms or mood swings you have. It then calculates when your next cycle start day should be, shows you when you are fertile, and even details the cycles of the moon.

5. Yoni Steam, a Sacred Ritual: This tradition of steeping a blend of aromatic herbs in a pot of water and then sitting over it is said to detoxify your womb (relieving cramping, bloating, and other symptoms associated with pre-menstruation) and increase fertility, among healing many other ailments. It is best to do this right before your cycle and after, not during.

Here is the recipe and instructions.

How to Make Your Yoni Steam Blend: Mix equal parts dried herbs only (no essential oils) into a glass jar.

  • Rosemary: Increases circulation, inhibits yeast growth.
  • Lavender: Calms, nourishes, antiseptic, helps cramping.
  • Oregano: Increases flow, antiseptic, stimulating, prevents infection.
  • Marigold: Moisturizes, aids in healing scar tissue.
  • Basil: Reduces painful menstruation.
  • Rose Petals: Adds a gentle astringent.
  • Mugwort: High essential oil content, moves and nourishes blood, balances female hormones.
  • Wormwood: Antimicrobial and regulates hormones.
  • Burdock Leaf: Detoxes blood.
  • Chamomile: Soothing to vaginal tissues.
  • Motherwort: Astringent that is toning and cleansing. Relaxes the uterine muscles.

Instructions to Steam: No steaming when you are on your cycle or if you are pregnant.

  • Boil one gallon of water with ¼ cup of your blend and let boil for five minutes.
  • Steep for 10 minutes.
  • Pour into a glass bowl and either place in your toilet or under a stool that has a hole in it.
  • Wrap a blanket around the lower half of your body to help keep the steam in, and steam for 20 minutes to a half hour.

6. Ruby Cup, Buy One, Give One: If you have never used a menstruation cup before, let me tell you firsthand it has changed my life! Because this is reusable, you don’t have to buy products every month. You only have to change it two times a day, depending on your flow. Not to mention that when you buy a Ruby Cup ($30), you are gifting one to another woman in East Africa who is in need of supply.

7. Women’s Crampbark Compound, Wise Relief, Ahhh: Packed full of herbs that are formulated to help relieve the pain of menstruation, this item is a subtle pain killer that will help keep you calm and grounded during your cycle.

8. My Little Yoni, Celebrate Your Unique “Yoniverse”: Isn’t this the cutest doll you’ve seen yet?! I was introduced to Ariel White, founder of My Little Yoni, through a co-worker here at B+C and fell in love. She shared, “My Little Yoni is a magical creature that is an original symbol of female empowerment and self-worth.” Super sweet news: Ariel is offering a 10 percent discount. Every part of my makeup routine — from my primer to foundation — is locked down, except for my boredom with my lip choice. Usually, the '90s makeup look I wear is the classic dark brown liner and gloss trend, but I've been itching to wear a little more color on my lips. I think it has everything to do with my infatuation with leopard print and wanting to lean into my own version of the mob wife trend that managed to make some people cringe.

Even if I don't spend the rest of the year decked in animal print, I want to wear bold shades and I know just who to turn to — MAC Cosmetics! They have everything from creamy satin to matte lipsticks that'll make your makeup and outfit look amazing. But, I'd rather show you what I mean, so let's jump into these 7 incredible shades!

Ulta

Locked Kiss Ink (Teaser)

This toasted warm nude has everyone's name written all over it because it's literally perfect for fall? Why? Well, it's more of a peachy color that won't make you look washed out if you use a contrasting brown lip liner. How dark you want to go is up to you, but gorgeous ombré effect will make others wonder how you achieve the perfect pout.

Mac Cosmetics

Frost Lipstick ("O")

No, I haven't lost my mind because one of the MAC lipsticks I'm thinking about buying is frosted. It's a purplish red that has golden pearl flecks that literally reminds of me a shiny copper penny. I'm sure I'm not completely deviating from my signature '90s lip look, but I'll be adding this in the center of lips instead of a nude matte lipstick! Once it's topped off with gloss, I'm sure it's going to mimic a beautiful fall sunset.

Nordstrom

Locked Kiss 24-Hour Lipstick (Ruby True)

Okay, I'm giving in because I know someone is looking for red lipstick that won't budge. Oh, who am I kidding? I'm the someone who can't stay away from this sexy shade. I don't care what season it is, it goes with everything you can think of. Plain t-shirt and jeans combo? Sure! Cute midi sweater dress and boots? Of course! That one date night outfit you've been saving for a special occasion? You bet!

Macy's

Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour (Carnivorous)

The name of this shade is fitting because it is spooky spooky season. I don't suggest you pretend like you're a hungry beast waiting for its next victim, but you could certainly pull this off when you're in a spicy mood. It'll take you from the boardroom to the bedroom (if you want) which will no doubt make someone say, "Wow, I love it here."

P.S. This theory may or may not have already been tested, but you didn't hear that from me!

Target

Lustreglass Lipstick (Spice It Up)

I'm a firm believer that not all fall looks require bold MAC lipsticks. Sometimes you need a touch of color that's soft and airy like this Lustreglass shade. Unlike matte or creamy formulas, this will keep your lips moisturized once you apply it. The color is also buildable so you can apply as much as you want, but I think a little goes a long way.

Nordstrom

MACximal Sleek Satin Lipstick (Film Noir)

Get away from this red completely and go for this deep cool brown shade if you dare. IMO, you can even save this for your scary Halloween costumesbecause it's the literal definition of BOLD. While I usually don't deeper brown lipsticks, I will use them as a lip liner because I'm not always a fan of using pencils, so this could be a neat trick you use in your routine!

Nordstrom

MACximal Sleek Satin Lipstick (Guessing Game)

Skip the bright red lipstick in favor of something deeper like this gorgeous shade. This is one of my go-to colors whenever I get tired of wearing a nude lipstick look because it's effortlessly sultry. Not only that, but it looks good on all skin tones which is important to me as a brown skinned woman!

Emily in Paris season 4 was the buzziest season yet, and for good reason. Emily's in Rome, Camille was never pregnant, and Gabriel's hair went from très hot to tragique. In addition to the viral response to Gabriel's new hair, season 4 left me pretty sad because after four years of waiting for Emily and Gabriel to get together, they almost immediately break up — and actor Lucas Bravo is just as confused as we are.

Carole Bethuel/Netflix

“The ‘sexy chef’ was very much part of me in Season 1 and we grew apart season after season because of the choices he makes and because of the direction they make him take,” Lucas Bravo told IndieWire while promoting Mélanie Laurent’s Freedom. “As they made him kind of unaware of his surroundings, of the dynamic, always victimizing and always being completely lost in translation and oblivious to anything that is happening around him and being manipulated by everyone, it kind of became not fun for me to shoot or to see a character I love so much and brought me so much, being slowly turned into guacamole. I really grew apart from him.”

Honestly it makes me really sad that a character we all love so much is becoming unrecognizable. But at the same time, it makes me feel a little bit better, because we're not the only ones who feel like Gabriel has changed. And while Lucas has done what he can to bring those early-series aspects of Gabriel back, he says "there is only so much I can do in the limits of a script.”

Netflix

“I tried for seasons to bring nuances but we don’t have much liberty on set," he continues. “It makes me question if I want to be part of Season 5…because my contract ends at Season 4. I really want to see if Gabriel gets back to his fun, cheeky, playful, alive self. Because three seasons playing melancholic, sad, depressed, and lost is not fun anymore. It’s a comedy, everybody is having fun around me, everybody is jumping around, and I’m just slowly sinking into god knows what.”

Say what now?! If Lucas Bravo leaves Emily in Paris, I truly don't know what I'd do. Gabriel is my favorite character on the show! (Or at least, early Gabriel was.) Seeing him move from 30, flirty, and thriving to someone who's consistently in the middle of an existential crisis doesn't make sense within the world of the show. And even though Lucas thinks the show has a "lack of risk," he still loves everyone involved.

“I love the show. It started everything for me. I love the show and the people in it," he says. "With saying that, I feel like I am not being nice or grateful, but when you love something you want it to be…you want the best version of it. I’m not going to lie, I’ve been frustrated with the direction by character is taking. But we’ll see where it goes. The show is not over.”

Just like the show's iconic costumes are all about expression and fun, here's hoping Emily in Paris is able to bring some life back into our favorite chef. Because if not, it sounds like we could be nearing the end of the show's most popular would-they-won't-they relationship. Fix this Netflix, I beg you!

What do you think of Lucas Bravo's dilemma? Do you miss season 1 Gabriel? Let us know in the comments and check out the latest Emily in Paris season 5 news.

If you're thinking about trying out latte makeup looks this fall, you're going to need the best long-last matte lipsticks you can coat your lips with. Think of your genetic pout as a blank canvas that can create a soft-glam or high-fashion moment to match the cute dresses you just bought.

Well, pucker up because we have matte lipsticks for everyone, from reds with blue bases to soft neutrals with brown undertones! Here are 11 matte lipsticks to add to your makeup bag ASAP!

The Best Matte Lipsticks For Fall

Target

The Lip Bar Vegan Matte Liquid Lipstick

The Lip Bar's 'Rebel' Vegan Matte Liquid Lipstick is going to give you the sultry pout you've been dreaming of. It almost looks brown in the tube, but you'll see that it's actually more of a deep burgundy shade.

The fun thing about this formula is that it applies like lipgloss, but dries down to a matte texture that feels oh-so-good. With just one swipe, your lips will be rewarded with an intense color pay-off that'll have people asking you where you found such a gorgeous shade.

Sephora

Huda Beauty Power Bullet Matte Lipstick

Liquid formulas aren't for everyone because they can get out of hand if you forget about their initial glossy application. A good alternative to that is Huda Beauty's Power Bullet Matte Lipstick with it's cruelty-free ingredients! It does have a creamy texture, but it only adds to the smoothness you'll feel when wearing it.

Sephora

Tom Ford Lip Color Matte Lipstick

Everyone should at least have one tube of sexy red lipstick in their makeup bag because it's going to brighten your face while making you look like you're on top of business for the day. Since you have more pressing things to worry about than finding the perfect shade, Tom Ford's 'Ruby Rush' is the vibrant true red you need!

Formulated without parabens and sulfates, the soothing Vitamins E & C will provide all the comfort your lips need.

Target

Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Lipstick

Want to achieve a long-wearing matte look on a budget? Head to your local CVS or Target to pick up one of Maybelline's Superstay Ink Lipsticks! The 'Exhilarator' shade is slightly darker than Tom Ford's 'Ruby Rush,' but that may make you feel more comfortable. We've found that darker reds tend to be a little more forgiving if you don't want to wear lipliner.

Despite the affordable price, Maybelline's lipstick provides the same rich intensity as luxury brands and offers over 10 hours of wear. You also won't see as much transfer when drinking or planting a kiss on someone special.

Amazon

Revlon Colorstay Suede Ink

If you ever see the word 'ink' in a matte lipstick's name, trust that you're going to be wearing something that barely budges. While you won't be able to wear this past your work shift without reapplying it before happy hour, you'll get crisp color that'll make everyone stop and stare at you in admiration.

You're free to get any shade you want for less than $10, but 'Lip Bloom' is speaking to the leopard print outfits we have planned.

Westman Atelier

Westman Atelier Lip Suede Matte Lipstick

This may surprise you, but this 'Lou Lou' shade is still considered a red lipstick. It's as bold as it's comfortable to wear, thanks to its suede texture. You won't experience any icky feathering that occurs when you wear some matte lipsticks nor will you have to worry about reapplying multiple coats throughout the day.

Ulta

WYN BEAUTY Word of Mouth Max Comfort Matte Lipstick

WYN Beauty may have created the prettiest berry matte lipstick of the year, and the fact it's universal makes us want to personally thank Serena Williams for the inclusivity. Since we can't do that yet, we're here to tell you why you should get this if you're afraid of wearing matte lipsticks that contrast with your skin's undertone.

Not only is Word of Mouth Max Comfort a vegan product, it also boasts up to 24 hours of hydration. Based on the 4.6 rating on Ulta, we think other customers can vouch for it!

Ulta

Juvia's Place Nude Velvety Matte Lipstick

Instead of wearing so much color on your lips this fall, you can choose a neutral matte lipstick to pair with your favorite lipgloss for the ultimate '90s "It" Girl look! This 'Toffee' shade is a safe bet because it offers a hint of color that won't overpower your makeup. Plus, it has hyaluronic acid in it!

Makeup Forever

Makeup Forever Longwearing Matte Lipstick

"Everything's coming up roses" with Makeup Forever's Longwearing 'Memorable Spice' Matte Lipstick. It's another neutral that works well with a brown lipliner and gloss, but you can always skip the shiny finish if you want! Delivering high-performance color and a weightless feel, you'll be glad you decided to give it a chance.

P.S. The sleek design makes it easy to fit in the smallest of Target bags!

NYX Cosmetics

Nyx Cosmetics Lip Lingerie XXL Matte Liquid Lipstick

It's hard not be influenced by TikTok trends, but we're not pretending that we're above them! We've come across some of our best makeup buys because of other people's thorough reviews which is why NYX Cosmetic's Lip Lingerie XXL Matte Liquid Lipstick made our list!

'Dusky Muted Rose' is a "full-bodied matte lipstick" that's long-wearing and vegan; two things we can't get enough of. Honestly, no one wants to wear something that disrupts their hormones!

Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie created reality TV gold when The Simple Life debuted in 2003. Their antics were outlandish, but we couldn't help repeating their iconic phrases like "That's hot" or "Sanasa" during random moments in our own lives.

It's no secret the two didn't really act that way, but their 'characters' left a huge mark on a generation of millennials. "I knew what I was doing but the whole world didn’t, so it was kind of frustrating to me to be perceived in that way because it’s not who I am at all," Paris told People.

Even though she may have felt judged, it seems that Paris Hilton realizes how many people actually loved The Simple Life because she and Nicole Richie are teaming up to film a reunion special that'll debut on Peacock as we speak! Here's everything we know so far!

When did speculations about 'The Simple Life' reboot begin?

NBCUniversal Media

Peacock first shared a video clip on Instagram that hinted something special involving Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie is coming in May. A nostalgic TV set with a black and white screen can be seen while our favorite duo's voices can be hearing saying, "Sanasa, Sanasa."

Peacock captioned the post, "New Era. Same Besties. Coming soon to Peacock," and fans could barely contain their excitement. Even celebs like Naomi Campbell and Katy Perry commented on these hot vibes.

Bravo

Then Paris Hilton took to her own Instagram to share more about what fans could expect. She said, "As some of you may know, we are doing a reunion special to celebrate 20 years of our show The Simple Life and it's been so much fun."

Actress Selma Blair shared how much she's looking forward to this by commenting that she's "living for this."

So are we!

What was 'The Simple Life' about?

The Simple Life/20th Century Fox

The Simple Life showed Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie as they basically traded their wealthy lifestyles for 'everyday' living. Cameras followed them from fast food jobs to dealing with getting out of sticky situations they'd supposedly never experienced. Needless to say, it was hilarious, iconic, and instant reality TV gold.

How long was 'The Simple Life' on air?

Peter Kramer/Getty Images

The Simple Life was on air from 2003 to 2007 with five successful seasons. It seemed like it wasn't going to be hit at first, but it defied expectations. By how much you ask?

According to reporting from The Cut, somewhere around 13 million viewers tuned in to watch Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie's oddball take on daily life. That's a pretty huge deal if you ask us!

When will 'Paris & Nicole: The Encore' debut?

Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images

Paris & Nicole: The Encore will premiere on Peacock December 12! The two were previously seen at a Sonic drive-thru yesterday so it can be assumed filming is underway (via People)!

Sporting partial Sonic uniforms, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie added accent pieces that match their signature flairs. Paris wore a pair of reflective sunglasses, silver sequin heels, and added a pink flip phone to front of her blue apron. Nicole wore gold hoops and a pair of slingback pumps alongside her hotdog mascot costume. That's hot (dog).

How does Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie feel about reuniting for a reunion special?

Frazer Harrison/Getty Images

Paris Hilton has expressed how much she loves to be sharing the screen with Nicole Richie again. "I'm so excited to be doing this with Nicole on Peacock. Nicole has been my best friend since we're 2 years old, every memory that I have is with her," (via E! News).

Nicole also posted a few throwback moments from The Simple Life on her Instagram, but the most notable one is the video mashup of them singing "Sanasa, Sanasa" over and over. "20 years ago, not only did we become television stars… we became song writers. Happy Anniversary Sill @parishilton#TheSimpleLife#sannnasaaaaa" she wrote in the caption.

What have Paris and Nicole said about their reunion special?

Peacock

Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie sat down with W Magazine to let the world know the Paris & Nicole: The Encore show is on its way! Not only that, but fans can expect to see an Opera version of the show they fell in love with two decades ago. Paris said, "The idea of the opera was unexpected" while Nicole chimed in with, "What people need, even though they don't know it yet, is for 'Sanasa' to be an opera.'"

The two besties came up with the idea via a series of texts that started off as ideas between them. Nicole said everything "came up organically" for the two and we can only imagine the memories this brought up for them. OG influencer Paris even talked about how The Simple Life was an "important show in pop culture history" and we couldn't agree more!

Nicole truly wants people to enjoy themselves while watching Paris & Nicole: The Encore and "find the same joy" she had while filming it. According to Paris, she feels what they have is "magic" because "there's just so much history behind it."

It's not every day that you can get to have fun with your best friend while coming up with long-lasting memories that contribute to pop culture, but Paris and Nicole have always danced to the beat of their own drums. Now we'll get to see them in action again!
