The Rumored Cast of Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time Is A-List Perfection

It’s an exciting Friday evening for fans of Disney: Not only did we get at sneak peek at Emma Watson’s first Belle costume from the live-action version of Beauty and the Beast(out March 17), a little birdie has also just given us the scoop on the rumored cast for the House of Mouse’s up-and-coming adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s A Wrinkle in Time, and trust us when we say: It’s GOOD.

In addition to Oprah Winfrey (!) who is already signed on to play one of three “celestial beings” (Mrs. Which) that helps a group of children find their scientist father trapped in an alternate plane, A-list stars Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling are reportedly in talks to round out the trio.

With Reese set to play Mrs. Whatsit, which will see her as a grandmother wrapped in layers of clothing, and Mindy as Mrs. Who, a literature-quoting fiend, the two will likely join the Big O and Jennifer Lee (the writer and co-director of Frozen) for the upcoming roles, and we, for one, could NOT be more excited.

Hey, and if they’re open to casting suggestions, maybe Millie Bobby Brown (aka Stranger Things’ Eleven) could take on the role of 12-year-old Meg Wallace? Just a thought!

Let's be honest...I'll watch just about anything Reese Witherspoon or Will Ferrell are in, but I'm especially ready for You're Cordially Invited! While I was already hooked on this dynamic duo just based on the two of them alone, the trailer just dropped — and it did NOT disappoint. From wrestling alligators to wearing big, fuzzy zebra costumes, there's a lot of really funny stuff to unpack with this upcoming movie. Let's get into it!

Check out the You're Cordially Invited trailer here!

Okay, let's address the elephant — or two-time Superbowl-winning quarter back — in the room first. Hello, Peyton Manning! I swear, this man is everywhere right now, and I'm so here for it! I'd be lying if I said I didn't laugh at his "Paintin' Manning" commercials lately.

Anyway, back to the plot at-hand! When Reese Witherspoon's sister and Will Ferrell's daughter get engaged, the both manage to book the weddings for the same day (June 1)...and at the same venue! Classic conundrum! Instead of rescheduling, the two groups are forced to work it out between the two of them, and things get a little hairy.

Throughout the hilarity — and chaos — that ensues, we see a lot of good stuff. This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Will Ferrell doing his daughter's hair in giant rollers
  • The two wedding parties battling over the sunset ceremony
  • A giant, fluffy zebra knocking a cake over during a conga line
  • Male strippers that are totally giving Magic Mike vibes
  • Will Ferrell wrestling an alligator?!

Needless to say, there's a LOT going on in this movie. If I'm already laughing that much at the trailer, I just know this is gonna good!

Catch You're Cordially Invited on Amazon Prime on January 30, 2025!

I'll follow Reese Witherspoon just about anywhere.Legally Blonde, Love in Fairhope, and Where the Crawdads Sing are just a few of her projects that leave me feeling totally empowered and overjoyed when I watch them. Hello Sunshine has plenty of exciting stories on the horizon, and thanks to our AMC queen Nicole Kidman, we now know that includes Big Little Lies season 3. We're ready to head back to Monterey, and we're not the only ones.

Turns out, Nicole Kidman put out feelers for Big Little Lies season 3 after watching the series with her daughter Sunday. “She was like, ‘No. There’s no more discussion. The third series has to happen…I’m sick of the talk. Sick of circling it. Just get it done,’” Nicole toldVogue Australia. “You need a teenager to go, ‘Enough. Just do it.’”

Keep reading for everything we know about Big Little Lies season 3, and everything our Monterey Five have said about it.

When is Big Little Lies season 3 coming out?

HBO

Big Little Lies Season 3 Release Date

We don't have any official news about a release date, and since season 1 and season 2 released at different points of the year, it's a bit harder to pinpoint when a new season could hit our screens. Shailene Woodley, however, did just confirm that "it's happening."

"I ran into Nicole Kidman a few months ago and I was like, 'So, what's the...' And she's like, 'It's happening,'" she told Jimmy Fallon. "I was like, 'It is? It's happening?' She's like, 'Yeah.' I was like, 'But when? How? When? Why? How?' I think it's a lot of people with a lot of schedules. And our beautiful director from season 1 [Jean-Marc Vallée] passed away, and that was really hard for everyone. So I think the whole experience has been a little bit one of trying to find all the right pieces to come together."

The Fault in Our Stars actress told Brit + Co that she's hoping to hear news sooner rather than later! "I hear the same rumors and gossip that you hear," she says. "I hope it's true. It'd be very fun."

Hilary Bronwyn Gayle/HBO

Nicole Kidman also told Elle there IS a timeline for Big Little Lies season 3. “I think when you’re all scattered and never sort of cross paths, it’s very, very different," she says. "But when you’re all still very intertwined, that’s what makes it doable, because there’s a willingness and you want to spend time together."

In June 2024, Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon revealed to Vanity Fair that (in addition to why Reese won't call Laura Dern by her first name), season 3 is coming soon! After Nicole's comments about season 3 being in the works, the cast started getting calls about it.

“I’ve got Laura [Dern] calling me and Zoë [Kravitz] and Shailene," Reese says. "They’re all like, ‘Nic said that we’re making Big Little Lies season three?'”

“But we are now!" Nicole says. "We’re moving fast and furious, and Liane [Moriarty] is delivering the book. Yeah, and we’re in good shape.”

Who's in the Big Little Lies cast?

Jennifer Clasen/HBO

Big Little Lies Season 3 Cast

The Big Little Lies cast is almost too good to be true. In addition to Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Zoë Kravitz, Laura Dern, and Shailene Woodley, the show has starred Kathryn Newton, Meryl Streep, Alexander Skarsgård, and Adam Scott.

Shailene revealed just how close she's gotten with her costars, telling Bustle there's "zero animosity between Laura and I."

"There't not even a hint of that, like, behind-the-veil, female curiosity, rage, jealousy, all the stuff that can happen between women, we have none of that," she says. "And so it was just a fun little boogie we got to jump into and explore all of those different colors together."

What is Big Little Lies season 3 about?

HBO

Big Little Lies Season 3 Plot

Shailene Woodley told Bazaar how excited she is to explore the show's characters that are a little more grown up now. "I think what excites me about the possibility of a third season, more than what I could think of with Jane, is the fact that these children [on the show] are not children anymore. They’re teenagers now!" she says. "Their voices have dropped, they all have their teenage situation happening, and the angst is kicking in, and that, to me, is what is exciting about the possibility of a third season. What does life look like for those people who are not children anymore?"

Will there be a season 3 of Big Little Lies?

HBO

It looks like yes, there will be a Big Little Lies season 3! During the CME Group Tour Championship, Nicole Kidman talked about her involvement in the series.

"I loved Big Little Lies," she said during a Q&A (shared in an Instagram story by Deux Moi). "It sort of came along at a time in my life when I had my children and I was thinking I was going to retire. And then this situation came along, where Reese Witherspoon and I were able to produce that show and create that show. And then all of you watched it and made it a massive success...And we will be bringing you a third one, just FYI."

Laura Dern is also ready to do do Big Little Lies season 3! "Well, let's just say we're best friends in art and in life," Laura tells TODAY. "And there would be nothing more fun for all of us. You know, we would have the time of our lives."

What happened at the end of Big Little Lies season 2?

Hilary Bronwyn Gayle/HBO

To put it simply, Big Little Lies season 2 ended in pure chaos. Each of the Monterey Five have their own singular victories — Bonnie lets go of her husband and makes peace with her mother, Celeste gets full custody of her kids, and Madeline renews her vows to Ed — before they walk into the police station together. We're guessing it's so Bonnie can confess to her role in Perry's death, but it looks like we'll have to wait for season 3 to find out. One surprising detail about the end of season 2, however, is what didn't happen.

"There was someone that was supposed to die," Zoë Kravitz revealed to Vanity Fair in 2020. "It wasn’t me, but I don’t know what I’m allowed to say, so I don’t know. But someone did die. But I think the way we ended the season was obviously really intriguing, but also everyone got to come together and I think that felt important to everybody." Because that death didn't happen, it would only make sense for it to have gotten pushed to season 3...right?

How many seasons of Big Little Lies are there?

HBO

So far there are two seasons of Big Little Lies, both of which you can watch on Max now. If you go ahead and press play, that means you'll have enough time to rewatch every episode before Big Little Lies season 3 drops. Trust me — you'll want to ;).

What town is Big Little Lies in?

HBO

Big Little Lies takes place in Monterey, California. Unlike some other series that have to shoot off location, Big Little Lies actually does film in Monterey so all of the scenes and settings are authentic!

What is the message of Big Little Lies?

HBO

Like so many of Reese Witherspoon and Hello Sunshine's projects, Big Little Lies explores a number of important and relevant issues families deal with in the real world: domestic violence, blended and single parent homes, and how far you're willing to go to protect the people you love.

Is there a spin off of Big Little Lies?

Vince Valitutti/Hulu

Hulu's Nine Perfect Strangers (which is based on the book of the same name by Liane Moriarty, who also wrote Big Little Lies!) serves as a Big Little Lies reunion of sorts — the show stars Nicole Kidman as actress and executive producer, along with Big Little Lies' producers Bruna Papandrea and David E. Kelley.

Bronzer is a big deal in my makeup routineespecially in the thick of winter, where this pale, pale girl gets even paler. When I’m ready for a full face moment, bronzer is a non-negotiable step for faking a summery glow. I’ve truly tried everything from powders to creams, liquids, and even cream-to-powder bronzers.

As someone who almost exclusively snags makeup products from the aisles of Target and CVS, these are the absolute best drugstore bronzers you've gotta try. Some of them are on regular rotation from my makeup bag, while others are simply top-rated from shoppers just like me.

Searching for a good summery glow this season? Look no further than these 10 best drugstore bronzers.

Amazon

Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer

I've been dipping into this bronzer since high school (don't worry – I've repurchased, like, 4 tins since then), and it's never failed me. The color itself is a nice blend of both matte and shimmery finishes, which I feel makes for the most natural glow around. I also adore how smoothly it goes on, likely thanks to the addition of murumuru, cupuaçu, and tucuma butters to the formula.

Amazon

From my experience, the Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer works best on fully makeup-ed skin. I typically wear it when I'm rockin' foundation, concealer, and powder, and find that it has more pop than if I use it on bare skin for minimal makeup days. A simple powder brush is the best tool for application!

Promising review: "I have bought many bronzers and this one is by far the best I've tried. I'm very pale and I use this to give a light sun-kissed look. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the applicator it comes with to apply. I use a blush brush instead. I use this almost daily and it has lasted me close to 6 months."

Amazon

Milani Baked Bronzer

Milani's Baked Bronzer is a very close second when it comes to the best drugstore blush. It definitely has more shimmer, which is perfect for an extra-glowy look. I like to apply it to my cheekbones, temples, and even add a bit on my nose for a tanned appearance.

Promising review: "This is the real deal! It is so beautiful and I love the subtle shimmer it has. So good I will definitely not be ordering my usual very expensive baked bronzer anymore. This is my new go-to!"

Amazon

Pixi On-The-Glow Bronzer Stick

I've come to really enjoy cream and stick makeup products over the past year. Of course, I fell for Pixi's viral stick blush, which led me straight to their stick bronzer. What I love about it most is how dang easy it is to apply. Just one or two swipes of the product does the trick, then I can lightly blend it out with my fingertips.

Amazon

The formula of Pixi's On-The-Glow Bronzer Stick is always super smooth and soft, so I can feel good about putting it on my skin regularly. As opposed to traditional powder bronzers, I feel like the creaminess of this product is super compatible with bare skin.

Promising review: "I recommend this, especially because it's really easy to manage the amount of color you want. It can sheer out so much, or build up easily. It won't break the bank, either. I use it as a lip tint, too. You really can't go wrong here."

Amazon

NYX Matte Buttermelt Bronzer

NYX's Buttermelt Bronzer is just as amazing as their Buttermelt Blush. The feel is extremely smooth, and as the name suggests, buttery. This makes it easily blendable, plus a little product goes a long way, so I feel like the $10 investment is well worth it.

Promising review: "I am in love with this bronzer! It has such a smooth, buttery texture that just glides on effortlessly and blends like a dream. It does have a slightly tropical, coconut-sunscreen scent but it's not going to haunt you all day the way some scented cosmetics can. The shade "BMB02 - All Buttad Up" works really well for my light olive complexion. 10/10 would recommend!"

Amazon

Sheglam Sun Sculpt Cream Bronzer

This $6 cream bronzer can double as a bronzer and a contour shade, thanks to the localized application tip. It allows you to place the product exactly where you want it, sculpting your face and adding a nice wash of color to warm up any look! It has amazing blending capabilities, so you can work it to be as bold as you please. It went viral on TikTok with 101 million views, and counting, so it pretty much has everyone's approval.

Promising review: "My skin is very light, most bronzers end up looking orange on me and don't match with my skin and undertones. THIS is the only liquid contour that had the actual tone I needed which has a grey tone rather than orange. It's buildable and blends flawlessly with my beauty blender! Will only be purchasing this now"

Amazon

e.l.f. Bronzer Palette

This bronzer palette is the way to go if you wish to customize your glow every time. You've got 4 fun shades to pick from, all of which host the perfect amount of shimmer for a natural finish. For a more sculpted, contoured look, simply opt for a contour brush instead of a powder brush (which'll give you more of a general sun-kissed vibe).

Promising review: "Elf is always affordable and delivers on their products, this palette is no different. Definitely useful and I think it’s a real systole to your makeup bag without breaking the bank."

Amazon

Wet n Wild MegaGlo Makeup Stick

This stick bronzer reigns supreme in the way of affordable drugstore bronzers. It's currently only $4 from Amazon! The product truly melts right onto your skin in one swipe and blends out just as easily.

Amazon

Plus, these sticks from Wet n Wild span across both blush and highlight shades, so you can get a full face look on the go.

Promising review: "What gets cheaper than Wet N Wild. I've tried many cream blushes at this point (I'm 38) and this is by far the easiest to blend and the most natural looking. I am NOT a make up aficionado, I only wear tinted lip products, blush and mascara, but this blush has been my favorite of all time. I swipe it right on my cheeks and blend with my fingers with a circular tapping motion. Flawless application, buildable and super natural looking on my light skin with cool undertone."

Amazon

e.l.f. Halo Glow Contour Beauty Wand

You'll fall in love with how buildable this product is. The cushion tip makes applying it extremely quick and easy, allowing you to contour and bronze simultaneously.

Promising review: "I use this every day when I’m getting ready for work. This is my go to to contour my face. I absolutely love how easy it is to use how well blends into your skin and the glow you have after you use it"

Amazon

Essence Baby Got Bronze Cream Bronzer Stick

This is another one of my fave bronzers since I can swipe it on and blend it with my fingers. Since I tend to go bare-faced more often than not, it works really well for bringing my skin to life when I don't want to apply foundation. The formula is undeniably smooth and silky, which feels so nice on.

Promising review: "I've been using this cream bronzer for a few months now and its even better than the higher end ones I've tried. This one is creamy, very pigmented and it stays on if you put a powder bronzer over the top. Really amazing and the best part is, the formula is clean! highly recommend"

Amazon

Physicians Formula Butter Glow Contour Wand

This wand is like the creamy, liquidy version of the Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer. It's definitely easier to apply on-the-go since all you need is the tube and your hands to blend it out. It also smells amazing!

Promising review: "Can't believe the price. It's definitely a dupe for the Charlotte Tilbury and i may also add that this one lasts longer so it's probably better in my opinion. very natural finish and easy to blend with fingers. It's thin so i powder after foundation and before using this wand. LOVE IT"
