16 Instagram Accounts Guaranteed to Make You Smile

If Instagram has taught us anything, it’s that people have a lot of things to take pictures of. No feed is complete without a snap of a #SundayFunday, #ThrowbackThursday or a #ShamelessSelfie. But there are some Instagram accounts that go beyond any hashtag. That’s why we’ve explored the strangest and most creative corners of our favorite social media app to bring you 16 themed accounts to make you laugh, smile and say, “Why does this even exist?” But that’s exactly why we love ’em.

1. @hotdoglegs: An Instagram favorite was turned into a viral fad: The #hotdoglegs. When you’re sitting outside catching some rays and you prop your legs just right, you’ll find that they resemble bunless hot dogs. And then you’ll get a good laugh.

2. @cintascotch: Artist Javier Pérez Estrella takes everyday objects and with a bit of doodling, turns them into reimagined works of art. A scroll through his feed can make you envision endless possibilities for pencil shavings.

3. @miserable_men: For many men, shopping is not something that’s done by choice. They’re dragged to a store by their wives, girlfriends, mothers or sisters and are forced to wait while their female counterparts go on a shopping marathon. These ‘grams capture men in those vulnerable moments of desperation and boredom.

4. @satiregram: On this Instagram feed, you’ll only see pictures of text — but they’re funny pictures of text. Each photo is a hand-written description of every Instagram cliche you can think of, from duck-face selfies to text screenshots and in this case, the fashionable shoe ‘gram. Let’s face it: We’re all guilty of at least one.

5. @bkstreetart: There’s a lot of street art on Instagram, but this NYC-based account takes the cake. From giant murals to sign stickers, this account proves that the streets of New York City are their own must-see attraction.

6. @thiswildidea: If you don’t know Theron and Maddie, then your Instagram feed needs an update right now. Theron is an amazing photographer and Maddie is his coonhound slash lovely muse. Together they travel the country getting into scenic adventures. You’ll fall in love… we guarantee it.

7. @richkidsofinstagram: The 1% may not be on Instagram, but their kids are. This blog-turned-book literally frames the gilded escapades of rich kids who have never known what it means to “brown bag it.”

8. @karlthefog: In case you didn’t know, San Francisco’s fog has a name… and an Instagram account. This delightful caption says it all: “San Francisco has 2 seasons: Me and anything else. I don’t like to talk about that other awful time of year so let’s focus on the best part which thankfully begins today. Happy June Gloom, you guys. It feels good to be home.”

9. @cashcats: LOLcats and Grumpy Cat have had their time to shine, but now it’s time for your new favorite Internet felines. Cash Cats is just what it sounds like, pictures of cats with lots of money and riches, and it’s hilarious.

10. @mensweardog: This New York City Shiba Inu has got GQ style that most human dudes only dream of. You’ll find him sporting the finest bow ties, beanies, blazers and bandanas.

11. @ohheyitschaz: Chaz Rorick started out posing as presidents, but now he’ll pose as anyone famous. With low-budget props and a great sense of humor, Chaz is mastering the flattering art of mimicry.

12. @cookingforbae: If you’re sick of salivating at delicious looking food porn, this account has the opposite effect. We all have those kitchen fails from time to time, so why not get a good laugh out of ’em? This is full of meal pics prepared with love, that unfortunately do not look appetizing. In some cases, they don’t even look like food at all.

13. @shavaunna: These frivolous Barbie doll heads go on rendezvous and get photographed by the paparazzi… kind of. We don’t know if this is funny because it’s creepy or if it’s just plain creepy.

14. @payphones: When was the last time you used a payphone? 1988? Never? What’s a payphone? This Instagram chronicles this endangered technology in what may be its final days in the wild.

15. @redhongyi: Her bio nails it, “Likes to paint, but not with a paintbrush.” Her gallery-worthy scenes are often made of food, but we’d never want to eat them. Can you frame food?

16. @darrylljones: If The Lego Movie and Toy Story taught us anything, it’s that toys know how to have a good time. Jones’ Storm Troopers prune basil trees, shovel watermelon and make hama bead self portraits. They’re men after our own hearts.

Do you have a favorite kooky Instagram account? Don’t hold out! We want to hear about it in the comments.

Nowadays, selfies are everywhere — from Apple’s latest ad campaign to profile photos to the full “selfies” folder on your iPhone, close-up photos of our faces reign supreme. A recent study published in JAMA Facial Plastic Surgerydisclosed that even a few years ago, back in 2014, people were snapping 93 billion pictures of themselves on Android phones each day; it’s mindboggling to guess how many selfies we’ve taken over the last half-decade. While selfies can be glamorous, funny, memorable, and even used as your password, researchers have also proven that they can cause unhealthy dysmorphia.

Do you like your facial features when you look in the mirror but feel like they look a little funky or not as attractive to you on your phone screen? If so, you might be observing something the researchers coined the “Selfie Effect,” which primarily causes noticeable distortion to the nose. The effect can be so dramatic that it can make your nose look 30 percent bigger than it actually is. Dr. Anthony Youn, a leading holistic plastic surgeon, explains this modern phenomenon in more detail. “Selfie dysmorphia is a term that describes an unrealistic obsession that many people have with taking selfies, getting rid of their perceived flaws with filters, and then having plastic surgery to try to look like their filtered selfies,” he schools us. “Patients actually bring their filtered and edited selfies to plastic surgeons’ offices and ask them to change their appearance to look like their altered photos.” Boris Pashkover, an assistant professor at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School’s Department of Otolaryngology and co-author of the study, cites patients coming in with selfies and asking specifically to make their noses smaller. Find this to be sad and unfortunate? Dr. Youn agrees and expresses his concern. “This is unsettling for me (as a board-certified plastic surgeon) because most millennials don’t really ‘need’ anything done.”

“People, especially millennials, need to understand that selfies are not accurate representations of how they look,” he continues. “To be honest, selfies are more like a carnival funhouse version of yourself than an accurate representation — and it all has to do with the distance between your face and the camera.” According to Dr. Youn and the study, the closer you position your face to the camera, the more you might perceive your appearance as altered. “Portrait photos are typically taken from a distance, unlike selfies, which can be captured as little as 12 inches from your face. Portrait photographers have known this for years and take their photos accordingly,” he says. “Selfies aren’t a totally accurate depiction of what a person’s face looks like, and they shouldn’t influence the decision to undergo plastic surgery,” he reiterates.

Good news, though: If you’re not thrilled with how your face or nose look in close-up pictures, moving the camera farther away will definitely help — whether you set it up somewhere and use a timer, or get yourself a selfie stick. And there’s always the option of having someone take a photo for you; the extra distance will give you a better picture that accurately depicts how flawless you really are.

Stassi Schroeder may look picture-perfect when appearing on her reality series Vanderpump Rules, but beneath that seemingly flawless complexion, she wants us to know that she’s every bit as human as the rest of us.

The Straight Up With Stassi podcast host took to Instagram stories over the weekend sans cosmetics to let fans in on a little secret: She actually suffers from psoriasis. “The psoriasis situation is not on fleek,” she said in the accompanying post video. “If anybody else suffers from this and gets it on their face, I’m with you.”

She reiterated her statements with her caption, saying, “If you suffer from Psoriaris, you ain’t alone. Sh*t sucks.”

It’s not the first time she’s opened up about the topic: Back in 2015, she shared a similar selfie while letting fans in on her big beauty secret: Ultra HD Make Up Forever Foundation ($43).

“So many of you ask what makeup I use because It “looks” like I have flawless skin,” she wrote at the time. “I don’t. And these patches are an f-ing b*tch to cover up and make me feel ugly all the time… Feel beautiful today, girls. We all have our issues.”

As she told Bravo in a subsequent interview, it’s important for her to be open with her viewers about her looks. “Because I know if I go on another girl’s blog or if I’m looking at her Instagram — I stalk tons of female celebrities too — I don’t like feeling bad about myself,” she shared. “I don’t like when people pretend everything’s perfect, it’s not… And I don’t like when women feel insecure, and I don’t want them to ever look at me and feel that way so that’s why if I need to talk about my psoriasis or the fact that I’m wearing pairs of Spanx, fine.”

Her sentiments echo that of Lorde’s, who shared her own struggles with acne just last week. Kudos to both ladies for showing us all that even with our perceived “flaws,” we’re still beautiful in every way!

Zoë Kravitz may have moved on already after her split from Channing Tatum, but she's not the only one! According to rumors, Channing has his own new love interest — and she's apparently a model. While we want him to be happy, we're heartbroken to see one of our fave heartthrobs off the market yet again! So here's what we know about Channing, how we got here, and his alleged new gorgeous girlfriend.

Scroll to find out everything you need to know about Channing Tatum's alleged new girlfriend!

I believe that practically everyone has had their own personal "Channing Tatum awakening" at one point or another. For me, that came in 2006 when he starred as Tyler Gage, alongside Jenna Dewan as Nora Clark, in Step Up. What's hotter than a troubled, handsome, and surprisingly talented hip-hop dancer falling in love with a ballerina? I rest my case.

That's why it was thrilling to find out the pair began dating in real life and tied the knot on July 11, 2009. But then, after having a daughter together, Channing and Jenna announced they were getting separated in 2018, and plenty of fans were devastated.

Their divorce was reportedly only finalized in September 2024. Regardless, that hasn't stopped 44-year-old Channing from getting back out on the market.

First, on October 30, 2023, the news broke that he'd gotten engaged to Zoë Kravitz, an American actress and filmmaker most well-known for her portrayal of Catwoman in The Batman and directing Blink Twice, which also starred Channing as Slater King.

Yet, one year later, in October 2024, Channing and Zoë called off their engagement and split up after spending three years together. Since then, the actor has seemingly begun seeing a younger model, 25-year-old Inka Williams.

Channing and Inka attended a pre-Oscars party hosted by the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) at The Living Room in Los Angeles on February 28. They've also been seen together around town. One source confirmed the pair were "seeing" each other when speaking to People after reportedly meeting through mutual friends.

"She's great. She has her own life. She's young but seems older," the source said of Inka.

"Channing's doing well. [Inka] makes him happy. He's reuniting with Zoë later this spring for another movie project. It shouldn't be too awkward; they ended things on okay terms."

Inka, who was born in Melbourne, Australia, and raised in Bali, Indonesia, is signed to IMG, a top global modeling agency. She previously said that her childhood in Bali shaped her into a "very compassionate person," and she later moved to London to grow her career.

In addition to modeling, the 25-year-old also launched her own fashion brand, known as She Is I, in 2019. Her mother often made her clothing when she was a young girl, and she viewed the business venture as a way to continue her mom's "legacy in design and bring back to life her amazing relations from the '90s."

"I always knew one day I would try my best to create those timeless pieces from her wardrobe! I still wear the pieces she made and wore through the '80s, '90s, and 2000s," Inka wrote on her brand's website.

Channing and Inka both have yet to comment on public speculation about their supposed relationship. Nonetheless, she did post a story from the beach on her Instagram @inkawilliams, with the words "I love you" written on top of the sand.
