This Video Gave Me the Unexpected Reminder I Needed to Love My Body

Every Body celebrates inclusivity and the representation of human beings in every shape and form.

Body-positivity can be a tricky thing. On the one hand, it’s amazing to recognize that all bodies are beautiful, but on the other, it can be hard to come to terms with our own bodies and our perceived flaws. As a woman in my mid-30s, I’ve had many ups and downs in terms of my health, my size, and how I feel about my body. Long gone are the days that I believed that getting to the smallest physical size meant that I looked my best, but it’s hard to be proud of where I’ve come when we’re still bombarded with images of the “ideal” woman (who is gorgeous, but totally not me).

Now that the youngest of my three kids is two, I’ve been able to take more time for myself and focus on my mind and body. With summer coming up, I’ve felt both excited about the warm weather and mortified at the state of my “imperfections.” It’s as if the season change suddenly reminded me that I’m not the size six I used to be. So when Brooklyn rapper Miss Eaves released the video for her song, “Thunder Thighs” yesterday, it was just the reminder I needed to love every inch of myself all year round.

With lyrics that include an ode to everyone’s favorite bod-flaunting summer garment, the sundress (“Thick thighs, sundress, I’m looking good”), Miss Eaves even opens the song talking about her “chub rub.” This ode to women’s bodies is genuine and catchy, with a love-yourself attitude that comes through in the video too.

Women of all ages and skin types are represented in “Thunder Thighs,” from the video’s pint-sized, sassy tween (Brianna, who Miss Eaves found through the video’s director) to the senior women rocking their leggings and crop tops. Every single woman in this video is inspiring me with her outfit and attitude, and it was exactly what I needed to see.

I know it seems ridiculous to say that one three-minute song was all it took, but it was. Last summer, still enjoying the first year (and beyond) of my baby’s life, I was proud of the body I had: It made my three perfect children and forever changed the way I see the world. But between then and now, with my baby in preschool and my eldest going into first grade, my self-image took a 180. For some reason, I’d developed the unrealistic expectation that my body would be smaller or more “presentable” this summer. But it was always presentable, and its physical size has no bearing on what it can do.

Just hearing the refrain, “Mom jeans all day, why you mad, tho?” made me realize that the body I’m in is perfect. The fact that I can ride my bike for 20 miles, swim in the lake, and eat half a tub of ice cream should each be celebrated. While I know that all bodies (including my own) are flawless, sometimes we can all forget that we’re great just the way we are. Listening to Miss Eaves’ “Thunder Thighs” was just the reminder I needed.

Amid the devastation of the LA fires, neighbors opening their homes to one another (like Hilary Duff housing Mandy Moore), internet users have found a new way to support people who have lost everything by streaming their old songs. When Heidi Montag's 2010 album Superficial hit #1 on iTunes, generating income for the popstar and her family, Gossip Girl fans called for another celebrity to get the same treatment: Leighton Meester (AKA Blair Waldorf) after she lost her home with husband Adam Brody.

Yep, in case you didn't know, Leighton Meester wasn't just an actress during her Gossip Girl days, she was also a singer! In addition to her role in Country Strong (which gave us the MASTERPIECE "Words I Couldn't Say"), Gossip Girl featured some of her music, like when the season 3 finale featured “Your Love's a Drug.”

Here's how fans are resurfacing Leighton Meester's old music right now!

Leighton Meester's fans include none other than Flavor Flav.

Stream @LeightonMeester Somebody to Love and use the song in yo TikTok’s 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Hip-hop artist Flavor Flav posted his support of Leighton Meester's "Somebody To Love" on TikTok on January 15. "Starting to hype up my girl Leighton Meester and help her family recover from the fire," he says in the onscreen text. And he's not the only one who loves her music, because fans started flooding his comments with their favorite songs.

"Good Girls Go Bad still goes triple platinum in my house annually," one user commented, while another added, "Stream Heartstrings by Leighton Meester too."

A third TikTok user ended up offering their own (phenomenal) idea when they said, "Can someone put together a LA fire playlist (philanthropy edition) so I can stream it all week?" Literally let's do it. I'm listening to the songs over and over anyway.

And the best part is that Rolling Stone reports that Heartstrings is now at 21 on iTunes!

Leighton Meester released some incredible music in the '00s and '10s.

Leighton Meester changed lives when she was a feature on Cobra Starship's "Good Girls Gone Bad" in July of 2009. This is quite literally one of the best pop songs of the decade — I never get tired of listening to it.

And she has some incredible features on her discography.

Leighton Meester follows up "Good Girls Gone Bad" with a song alongside Robin Thicke in a very steamy music video that Gossip Girl would definitely be writing about.

And in 2014, Leighton Meester released a full-length album called Heartstrings, which includes this title track. It's a little country, it's a little pop, and it's very addictive. It feels totally different than the Blair Waldorf vibe we'd come to associate Leighton with, and it's like a breath of fresh air.

Here's the full Heartstrings tracklist!

  1. Heartstrings
  2. Run Away
  3. Good for One Thing
  4. Sweet
  5. On My Side
  6. LA
  7. Dreaming
  8. Blue Afternoon
  9. Entitled

If you need me for the next few weeks, I'll be listening to all of Leighton Meester's music on repeat. Check out the latest news on Adam Brody & Leighton Meester's New TV Show Good Cop/Bad Cop.

Western lovers, there's finally a brand new show for us to obsess over! (And to add to our rewatch lineup of 1923 and When Hope Calls). Season 1 of Ransom Canyon premiered on Netflix April 17 and if you're still thinking about THAT ending, then you're not the only one. Here's everything you need to know.

Here's a full breakdown of the Ransom Canyon ending, which you can watch on Netflix now.

What happens in the Ransom Canyon finale?

Anna Kooris/Netflix

The last episode of Ransom Canyon immediately picks up the emotional fallout of the previous episode. Yancy learned Cap is his grandfather...right before Cap dies, leaving Ellie to think he just stood her up. Lucas is reeling from his brother Kit's arrest relating to Staten's son Randall's death in the pilot (and the fact Kit signed Lucas' emancipation papers without a second thought), while Lauren's shoulder injury means she might not be able to leave Ransom Canyon after all.

Um, not to mention the fact we finally learn Lauren's mom Margaret is the one responsible for Randall's death. (Chat, I don't know if I'll ever get over that one).

Each of those moments is enough to form a whole episode around, but Cap's death really got me (especially when way more people than Ellie invited show up to his memorial). And I'm not the only emotional one. "I think I had a lot to do in the second year," actor James Brolin told EW. "Even if I had a grandson that was going to take over. I liked my relationship with Jack Schumacher [Yancy], and I liked the girl that was almost like a surrogate daughter [Ellie], Marianly Tejada. We worked so well together, and we like each other so much. So that I'll miss." We'll miss you too!

Do Staten and Quinn get together?

Anna Kooris/Netflix

Elsewhere, it looks like Quinn and Staten have a very bright future, but Davis just can't stop messing with their lives. Quinn learns the investment from Austin Water & Power really was too good to be true, and that they're going to take legal action on Gracie's Dance Hall if she doesn't start making payments...that week.

Their relationship feels even more stress when Quinn tells Staten the New York Philharmonic offered her a six-month stint, news he doesn't react well to. And then at a dance at Gracie's Dance Hall, when Davis makes a really horrible comment about Staten's late wife, the two men finally come to blows, leaving Quinn disappointed, hurt, and resigned to leaving Staten alone.

What happens at the end of Ransom Canyon?

Anna Kooris/Netflix

The real culmination of the episode — and the season — comes at Gracie's Dance Hall. The town comes together, not knowing that the hall is in danger and that Ellie will be its future co-owner.

After Lauren tells Lucas she's not ready for a serious relationship and runs off, Lucas hops onstage at the dance to confess his love for her in front of the whole town. "You got a bum arm and a broken heart, and I can only fix one of those" is MODERN POETRY!

Ellie's evening is also looking romantic considering Yancy is waiting with a preacher, and lots of candles, for them to get married...until a woman shows up claiming to be Yancy's wife, and you can just see Ellie go into shock.

Sheriff Dan Brigman shows up and arrests his wife Margaret for Randall's death. Lauren and Dan embrace, as do Lucas and Kit, who finally comes home.

And the season ends with Staten looking out on the truly gorgeous land of Ransom Canyon before the screen fades to black. And I literally thought to myself THAT'S HOW THE SEASON ENDS?! Looks like we'll have to hope Netflix renews the show for a season 2.

The Ransom Canyon ending is definitely cliffhanger with plenty of shocks, but that final shot of the canyon gives both the viewers and the characters a few moments to breathe and to process. It also left me feeling hopeful about what's to come.

Will there be a season 2 of Ransom Canyon?

Anna Kooris/Netflix

We haven't gotten an official Ransom Canyon season 2 announcement yet, but creator April Blair hopes this isn't the end of the story. “My favorite feeling is when a show ends, and you don’t want it to end, and you just want more,” she tells Netflix. “It makes you feel warm and familiar, and you don’t want to let go. That is how I hope people feel. It’s how I feel about the show watching it.”

Taylor Swift has been teasing Reputation (Taylor's Version) for two years — or, at least, Swifties have been clowning over it for two years. When Tay showed up to the 2022 VMAs in a "Look What You Made Me Do"-inspired outfit, fans expected her to drop the first Rep (TV) single, but she announced Midnights instead. And history repeated itself at the 2024 Grammys, when Taylor showed up in black & white before announcing The Tortured Poets Department.

Even though some fans feel confused, NOT getting Reputation (Taylor's Version) in 2024 totally goes with the "2 re-recordings one year, 1 new album the next" pattern we've seen since 2021. But there's one huge Easter egg that's been pointing us to 2025 all along: it's the Year of the Snake.

Here's the one major Reputation (Taylor's Version) release date Easter egg that suggests Taylor Swift could drop it in 2025.

When is Reputation (Taylor's Version) coming out?

Let it be known we still don't have an official Reputation (Taylor's Version) release date yet, but after the "I Can See You" music video featured the number 2.16 (February 16), everyone eagerly awaited February 2024 with baited breath...only to receive nothing. But now I've turned my eyes to February 16, 2025 because DUH, releasing Reputation (TV) during the Year of the Snake (the icon associated with the entire 2.5-year era) makes more sense than anything.

"Some of us have been saying this since like 2022," one TikTok user jokes, while another rationalizes, "We had fearless, red in 2021 then speak now, 1989 in 2023 so reputation and debut in 2025."

The Year of the Snake officially kicks off January 29, meaning we could be in for a late-January announcement, but some fans think Taylor will announce the album on New Year's Day 2025 in honor of the closing track on the album. In my opinion, it makes total sense to get Reputation (TV) for the first half of the year, and to wrap up the re-recording era with Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version) for the second half of the year before transitioning to her new movie (and a potential TS12, of course).

Will there be a Reputation (Taylor's Version)?

Yes, we're getting a Reputation (Taylor's Version)! Taylor Swift announced she'd be re-recording all of the albums leading up to Lover after she was unable to buy the rights to her music. In addition to more modern versions of all our favorite Taylor Swift songs, she's also added brand new tunes (called "From the Vault" tracks) as bonus songs for each album. Tracks like "When Emma Falls In Love (Taylor's Version)", "Timeless (Taylor's Version)", and "Is It Over Now? (Taylor's Version)" quickly became fan favorites!

Reputation has always been my favorite Taylor Swift album, and I can't wait to see what kind of vault tracks we get. At its core, Rep is a love album that also address fear and hope, and Reputation (TV) is going to be the one re-recording you won't want to miss.

We've all heard the saying, "Never meet your idols," and in the past, it might've sounded pretty dramatic. It assumes that the people we once looked up to will forever be altered in our minds after encountering them because, somehow, they'll disappoint.

Well, that was until one TikToker named Jordan recently posed an intriguing question that garnered some pretty unbelievable responses. On her account @idkjor, she asked people to divulge their craziest celebrity interactions.

"I don't mean, 'I got a selfie with so and so.' I wanna know who was rude, who was a flirt, you hung out with them all night, etc.," Jordan wrote.

Her TikTok, posted on April 5, has amassed 9.2 million views and over 976,000 likes. Plus, nearly 45,000 users opened up about their encounters with celebrities. Here are some of their most jaw-dropping celebrity stories (and thankfully, they're not all negative).

When does season 3 of Ginny & Georgia come out?

Brooke Palmer/Netflix

You can stream Ginny & Georgia on Netflix starting June 5, 2025.

What is Ginny & Georgia season 3 about?

Netflix

Ginny & Georgia follows the titular mother-daughter duo (plus Ginny's little brother Austin) who move from Texas to Wellsbury, Massachusetts after the death of Georgia's husband. But while a new town, a new school, and new friends can be complicated on their own, things get even messier in season 2 when Ginny discovers her step-dad's death wasn't an accident.

And at the end of season 2, Georgia's arrested for murder in the middle of her wedding reception. This was "always the plan," according to creator Sarah Lampert. "How we pitched season 1 and then how we ended our pitch of season 2 was, 'Then Georgia's married to Paul, they're having their first dance, and she's arrested for murder,'" she told People in January 2023.

"I'm blown away that the writers are still able to show us completely new sides of each character, and that's what you're going to see in season 3," actress Brianne Howey says. "You will see a lot of grit and hustle, but in an entirely new way. Georgia has to dig deeper into a part of herself we haven't seen yet. So, she has to use that grit in all new ways."

Who's in the cast?

Netflix

Ginny & Georgia stars Brianne Howey as Georgia Miller, Antonia Gentry as Ginny Miller, Diesel La Torraca as Austin Miller, Jennifer Robertson as Ellen Baker, Felix Mallard as Marcus Baker, Sara Waisglass as Max Baker, Scott Porter as Paul Randolph, and Raymond Ablack as Joe.

How old was Georgia when she had Ginny?

Amanda Matlovich/Netflix

Georgia was 15 years old when she gave birth to Ginny. This is another detail that reminds us of Gilmore Girls since Lorelai was 16 when she had Rory!

Where can I watch Ginny & Georgia?

Netflix

Ginny & Georgia season 3 is premiering June 5, 2025 on Netflix, which is where you can stream all 20 episodes of the show (10 in season one and 10 in season two). It's safe to assume that Ginny & Georgia season 3 will also have 10 episodes.
