Good news — it’s not too late! You can easily throw a fab and festive last-minute affair with little to no stress. We’ve got a few tricks and tips up our sleeves to help get you geared up.

Send out e-invitations

Eco-friendly e-invitations from sites like Paperless Post are easy to create and mail out on a whim. They’ll also take a lot of stress out of the equation; the last thing you want is to be left wondering who is going to show up on the day of. Send invites, request an RSVP, and stock up accordingly so you can keep your guests fed and satisfied.

Opt for a casual mingle over a sit-down dinner

Sit-down meals are nice and all, but save ’em for other occasions. A holiday mingle is the perfect excuse to invite your favorite people over without the stress of putting on a big show. Since December is busy for everyone, your guests will appreciate the idea of a low-key soirée just as much as you do! Everyone loves a wine and cheese party, but if you want to go for a different angle, draft up a simple drink menu, pick out some easy crowd-pleasing foods, and keep things super casual.

Baked Eggs in Butternut Squash Rings

Yummy Thanksgiving Appetizers can be as cute as they are scrumptious — like these Baked Eggs in Butternut Squash Rings recipe form Lisa Steele, author of The Fresh Eggs Daily Cookbook. Here's how you make it:

Ingredients:

1 large butternut squash
Extra-virgin olive oil
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
6 eggs
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh sage for garnish

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Wash the squash and cut crosswise into six 3/4- to 1-inch slices. Scoop out the seeds and hollow out the middle of each slice to allow room for an egg.
Arrange the squash on the baking sheet and brush each ring with olive oil inside and out, then season with salt and pepper. Bake on the center rack of the oven for 20 minutes, until the squash has softened. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and gently crack and slide 1 egg into the center of each squash ring. Season with salt and pepper, drizzle with olive oil, and return to the oven. Bake about 8 minutes, until the egg whites are set and the yolks are firm but not fully set.
Use a spatula to slide the squash rings onto plates. Top with Parmesan, garnish with fresh sage, and drizzle with olive oil.

Almost two years after meeting Ariana Grande, Ethan Slater finally opened up about their relationship in a new interview with GQ. “Obviously, it was a really super big year and I think there was something that was really difficult about things in your private life being commented on and looked at by the public," he says. "There were a lot of big changes in private lives that were really happening, so it’s really hard to see people who don’t know anything about what’s happening commenting on it and speculating, and then getting things wrong about the people you love. So just to address that part of it, that feels really hard."

No one knows how to do dead-pan humor like John Krasinski (unless your name is Ryan Reynolds, of course 😉). His response to winning was, "Just immediate blackout, actually. Zero thoughts," (via PEOPLE). He followed up with, "That's not how I wake up, thinking, ‘Is this the day that I'll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?’ And yet it was the day you guys did it. You guys have really raised the bar for me."

Of course Emily Blunt couldn't resist making a little joke...

We know Emily Blunt has a great sense of humor too, so it comes as no surprise that she had a little something to say to John about his new title. Besides being "very excited" about his win, she apparently told him she'd willingly plaster his face all over their home, wallpaper-style (via PEOPLE). The Jack Ryan actor said, "My children will love that, it won’t be weird at all."

TODAY also reports the actor revealed Emily may pile on the housework given all this newfound attention. "I think it's going to make me do more household chores. After this comes out, she'll be like, ‘All right, that means you’re going to really earn it here at home.'" We don't see a problem with that!

It almost feels like the heartwarming TV show Foster's Home of Imaginary Friends, albeit the young girl is dealing with possibly losing her only living parent.

Next up, fans will get to see John star in Fountain of Youth alongside Natalie Portman, according to Deadline. They'll star as a brother and sister who are determined to claim the actual Fountain of Youth for themselves.

Deadline also reports that he'll take the lead role in the upcoming Jack Ryan film. A premiere date hasn't been announced yet, but we do know Amazon MGM Studios is behind it!
