Maybe it’s just us, but the start of this week isn’t as cringe-inducing as usual. We could totally still be on a sugar high from National Donut Day though, TBH. To keep the party going all week long, we rounded up TWO new Todrick Hall videos, a super helpful book, two must DL apps and every fangirl’s dream road trip. This week’s commute definitely won’t have any lulls.

1. Todrick Hall’s “Evolution of Disney” + “Mickey Minaj”: The Disney-loving, Beyoncé homage pro’s creative YouTube reign just won’t stop. His most recent videos are everything you’d want for a morning or afternoon pick-me-up. Press play and you’ll be taken on a mashup masterpiece of classic Disney tunes from countless centuries.

The Mouse House party doesn’t stop with that transformative soundtrack, though his other latest vid mashes up everyone’s fave cartoon princesses with a real life princess’ jams — that would be Nicki Minaj, FYI. Both of these clips are bippity boppity bops.

2. Women’s World Cup Challenge (Free on iOS + Android): The FIFA Women’s World Cup kicked off Saturday. Fully invest yourself in the badass lady soccer tournament — through July 5 — with this app where you can catch up on all the tourney action on the go, predict match winners and fill out brackets a la March Madness to compete for prizes or some good old fashioned pride with your friends. May the best women (and Team USA) win.

3. I Know How She Does It: How Successful Women Make the Most of Their Time by Laura Vanderkam (Available on Amazon, Barnes + Noble, Books-A-Million, Google Play, iBooks + IndieBound): This helpful book takes a look at “having it all” through the lens of actual data from working mothers, who offer insight on how they juggle their personal and professional lives and the ways they break down the hours in their day through case studies and interviews. This is a definite must-read for all aspiring girlbosses.

4. Fan Girl Quest: This “travel blog with a geeky twist” is every fangirl’s biggest dream. Follow these fangirls as they embark on probably one of the most epic (and endless) road trips ever as they scout locations from movies + TV from all over the world. One scroll through this portfolio on your way into the office and you’ll feel like you’re on a journey to somewhere other than your desk.

5. Readerly (Sign up for beta): Get this app to hone your critical reading skills through interactive gameplay. Open it up a little every day and play around to improve your comprehension, discover new topics, build your intellectual confidence and even (if needed) help yourself enhance results on standardized tests — or, you know, annual reviews and stuff ;)

As much as I've written about Reese Witherspoon's book club, you'd think I was on a first name basis with her (wishful thinking)! But, the truth is that it's the reason I rediscovered reading for fun. As informational as books can be, there's also joy, anguish, fear — and even spicy romance — to lose ourselves in. I'm become a firm believer in holding on to things that bring us joy so if your book stash is overflowing, you're going to love Reese's January pick for 2025.

It's best enjoyed with crackers or veggie sticks to dip, but you could also smatter fried chicken or seared steak in it for some ahh-mazing flavor!

If 2024 was the year of celebrity book clubs, 2025 is when book-to-film adaptations will answer all of BookTok's prayers. From the many Emily Henry adaptations to even more Colleen Hoover (hello,Verity), there's PLENTY to look forward to. It's not that we haven't seen this formula before, but it just feels more people are putting on their unofficial culture critics' hats to see how many new TV series or movies match up against an author's written work these days.

We know Dakota Johnson will be playing Lowen Ashleigh while Anne Hatheway will star as Verity Crawford with Josh Hartnett taking the role of Jeremy. According to PEOPLE, Amazon MGM Studios is backing this powerhouse movie though a release date has yet to be shared.

Next up is Matthew Haig's The Midnight Library. It's being produced by StudioCanal and Blueprint Pictures to bring main character Nora Seed's incredible journey to the big screen (via The Hollywood Reporter). 6. People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry

We love Emily Henry so we're excited to see People We Meet on Vacationget a film adaption in 2025. Written by the charming and witty Emily Henry, the book follows the 'best friends to lovers' troupe that we can't help falling for. Starring Emily Bader as Poppy and Tom Blyth as Alex, readers will get to watch their characters embody the sometimes hilarious frustration of realizing two people aren't better off as friends. Other cast members include Sarah Catherine Hook, Jameela Jamil, Lucien Laviscount, and Lukas Gage (via Deadline).

7. Klara And The Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro

Earlier this year,The Hollywood Reporter shared an exciting update about the adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro's novel Klara And The Sun. Not only will it be directed by Taika Waititi, but Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams will be starring in it! Ortega will play the titular character, an A.I. "robot" that Adams' character buys "for her teenager."

8. The Hunting Wives by May Cobb

This book felt like reading something from an alternate timelines of The Real Housewives or The Stepford Wives being that it features familiar troupes. The most glaring difference is the reality that there's form of corruption and murder that takes place when a mom moves to the south with her family. She encounters a fun "socialite" who becomes her main focal point until she realizes all that glitters isn't gold. But by then, it's too late (via Variety).

Instead of going to theaters, viewers will be able to watch this series and it's cast on Starz:

Taylor Jenkins Reid is another author who's incredible work made it to our TBR pile this year so we're excited to see The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo being adapted for film. Netflix has their hands all over this movie and we don't blame them! Cast information isn't available yet, but fans can expect this adaptation to closely follow the plot of the book.

As a refresher, up-and-coming writer Monique Grant is given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to pen the biography of the popular star Evelyn Hugo. The latter gets candid about the marriages that didn't last and everything she's kept hidden from others. Eventually, she'll reveal the connection she has to Grant which will change the perception the writer had about one aspect of her life.

10. The Housemaid by Frieda McFadden

The Housemaid is another book to film adaptation we can't wait to watch because it stars Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia!, Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria, Anyone But You), and Brandon Sklenar (It Ends With Us). Sweeney will play Nina, a woman who becomes a maid for Nina (Seyfried) and her husband in their glamorous home. It'll also star Uma Thurman, Anthony Hopkins, and Phoebe Dynevor!

It appears to be a diamond on a chunky gold band, and if you ask me, the ring's modern, glam look is the perfect vibe for the "Houdini" singer.

Dua Lipa and Callum Turner keep their relationship pretty private (aside from some very cute walks), but according to one Page Six source, they've been "mad about each other" from the start. And it's clear because these two can't keep their hands off each other!

"Dua and Callum are so in love and know this is forever," a source told The Sun in December 2024. “They are engaged and couldn’t be happier. Dua has had one of the best years of her career professionally and this is the cherry on the cake."
