8 Underrated Mexican Beaches That Are *Perfect* for a Bachelorette Party Weekend

Bachelorette parties are great, but bachelorette party WEEKENDS are a totally next-level shindig. Once you’ve convinced your girls to take off work and run away with you, it’s time to pick a stellar locale. And while you might think Mexico is a bit cliché, we’re here to tell you that it’s def not. Surrounded by three bodies of water (the Caribbean sea, the Pacific Ocean, and the Gulf of Mexico), the stunning country is bursting with endless views and sandy beaches made for you and your ladies. Just in case you’re still envisioning spring break in Cabo, check out the eight hidden gems below that are perfectly sophisticated for a classy ladies’ getaway. Brace yourself for a case of wanderlust, and keep reading to see where you should book!

1. Isla Holbox: Also known as Holbox Island, this small beauty is a rustic getaway from the packed beaches of #springbreak photos. To get to white-sand paradise, you can either take an airport shuttle or hop on an air taxi. Once you’ve made it, plan to lounge at the beach, take advantage of the many tours (including whale shark watching!), and munch on all the delicious fresh food the island has to offer. Sounds like a bona fide dream!

2. Sayulita: Active brides will love all of Sayulita‘s outdoorsy opportunities. From surfing to yoga on the beach to zip lining through the jungle, this gorgeous slab of land is a nature enthusiast’s paradise. And even if some of your squad isn’t into that #greengoddess life, fear not! Sayulita has something for all your besties. It’s packed with top-notch restaurants (with beach views!) and, of course, great shopping.

3. Zipolite: Located in Oaxaca, Zipolite has been dubbed a “hippie haven” since the ‘60s. It’s still a beach town with a tourist-free vibe that your laid-back gal pals will adore. Sit back and enjoy the quaint town and glorious beaches, which are surrounded by awe-inspiring cliffs (and were featured in Y Tu Mamá También). But be careful if you like to take a dip in the ocean — Zipolite’s waters are known for their strong currents!

4. Punta Mita: This highly secure 1,500-acre resort and residential community is a popular getaway for high-profile tech executives, and it’s easy to see why. Whether you’re looking for total relaxation or a *fancy* party, Punta Mita‘s got it. Expect to enjoy fine dining, luxurious shopping, cultural exhibitions, and all the fun outdoor adventure activities the coastline has to offer. It’s time to get a little glam, ladies.

5. Punta Diamante, Acapulco: Located on the open ocean (hello, huge waves!), Punta Diamante is the newly developed section of Acapulco. If you and your crew prefer party-friendly city vibes, prepare to turn it up because the nightlife here is hoppin’. While you’re in Acapulco, be sure to venture to La Quebrada to catch the city’s iconic high-cliff divers do mind-boggling jumps.

6. Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo:Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo is a gorgeous fishing village positioned on a bay and surrounded by mountains — making it a peaceful choice for some pre-wedding R&R. Fishing is kind of a must if you’re going to visit. However, there are plenty of sun-soaked beaches and a city feel in downtown Zihuatanejo where you can find lots of seafood to chow down.

7. Tulum: If it’s total Caribbean bliss you and your BFFs seek, look no further than Tulum. This showstopping town is packed with ancient Mayan history AND amazing beaches with turquoise waters. Tour the ruins, which overlook the crystal clear sea, or take advantage of nearby attractions like Xel Ha, a natural aquarium. Or, you know, be a total beach bum and bask in the cabana glory with your girls.

8. Barra de Navidad:Barra de Navidad is the perfect little paradise if you’re SO over the crowds. Here, you can explore traditional cobblestone streets, dine and shop at authentic Mexican markets, and even crank up the celebratory vibes at hip local bars. And as always, hit the beach!

When it comes to streaming platforms, having a variety of content is king, and Paramount+ is undoubtedly building an empire. Originally launched as CBS All Access, the platform rebranded in 2021 with a new name and became a one-stop shop for everything TV from binge-worthy originals to nostalgic classics.

To help you sort through the sea of options, we've rounded up 10 must-watch Paramount+ shows that deserve your attention this month. Whether you're into comforting oldies, comedies, gripping drama, or even reality TV, here are our top picks.

Scroll to see all the Paramount+ TV shows to watch in April 2025!

Paramount+

1. Tulsa King

Sylvester Stallone made a bold entrance into television with Tulsa King, a gritty yet entertaining crime drama from the mind of Taylor Sheridan. Sylvester plays Dwight "The General" Manfredi, a seasoned New York mobster who's exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma, after serving a 25-year prison sentence and starts building a criminal empire from the ground up. Other stars include Andrea Savage, Max Casella, Neal McDonough, and more.

DreamWorks Television

2. Freaks and Geeks

Before they were household names, actors like Linda Cardellini, Seth Rogen, Jason Segel, and James Franco were the fresh-faced stars of Freaks and Geeks, a short-lived but beloved dramedy that captured the awkward, painful, and hilarious high school journey.

The show, which came out in 1999, follows Lindsay, a bright student who veers off the mathlete path to hang out with underachievers; meanwhile, her younger brother navigates freshman year.

Paramount+

3. Colin From Accounts

Colin From Accounts is an Australian rom-com that begins in an unexpected way: with a car accident and an injured dog. When the character Gordon, played by Patrick Brammall, nearly hits Ashley, portrayed by Harriet Dyer, with his car, the pair find themselves co-parenting a stray dog they name Colin.

The show's depiction of modern romance is witty, heartfelt, and filled with chemistry, making it easy to binge.

Paramount+

4. Evil

If you're more into the dark and twisted, check out Evil, which explores the blurry line between the psychological and the supernatural. It follows Kristen, a skeptical forensic psychologist, who teams up with a priest to investigate unexplained phenomena.

Evil weaves in commentary on science, faith, and the modern world's own dark side: internet culture. The cast includes Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, Michael Emerson, Andrea Martin, and more.

Lynch/Frost Productions

5. Twin Peaks

While it came out in 1990, Twin Peaks is still considered one of the best shows ever created. When a high school student named Laura Palmer is found dead, Dale Cooper, an FBI agent, is called in to solve the case. This leads to the discovery of secrets buried within a seemingly quiet and unassuming town.

Created by David Lynch and Mark Frost, the cast includes David Lynch himself, Kyle MacLachlan, Sheryl Lee, Lara Flynn Boyle, Sherilyn Fenn, Frank Silva, Grace Zabriskie, and more.

CBS Studios

6. The Twilight Zone

Rod Serling's The Twilight Zone is one classic that will never go out of style. This series uses science fiction, horror, and fantasy to tell self-contained stories that often end with a moral punch or twist. The episodes are only 30 minutes long, but each one pushes the boundaries of viewers' imaginations and reflects the anxieties of its time.

Still, even decades later, the thoughtful themes and eeriness resonate among audiences, both young and old.

Showtime

7. Yellowjackets

Yellowjackets is the kind of thriller that pulls you in from the very first episode. After a high school girls' soccer team crashes in the remote wilderness, the series jumps between the events that unfold following the accident and the lives of the adult survivors over two decades later.

This show, starring Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Sophie Nélisse, Ella Purnell, Hilary Swank, and more, is unpredictable and binge-worthy.

CBS

8. The Amazing Race

The Amazing Race is a reality TV staple that's continued captivating audiences for more than 20 years. It follows teams of two as they race across the globe and tackle challenges for a chance at winning a $1 million prize.

Beyond the adrenaline rush, the series gives viewers a glimpse into diverse cultures and gorgeous landscapes. It's part travel, part competition, but totally entertaining.

Comedy Central

9. Drunk History

Your high school history class definitely wasn't like Drunk History, where real historical events are retold by intoxicated narrators. Hosted by Derek Waters, the show delivers tipsy (and not always entirely verbatim) takes on all sorts of scandals and situations, from the death of Rasputin to the Stonewall riots.

It's chaotic but surprisingly informative and features a rotating cast of comedians and celebrity cameos.

Showtime

10. Dexter

Last but not least is Dexter, an unsettling yet oddly endearing crime drama. Michael C. Hall stars as Dexter Morgan, a forensic blood spatter analyst by day and a serial killer by night. The twist is that he only targets people whom he thinks deserve it.

Dexter came out in 2006, has eight seasons, and is still one of TV's most compelling depictions of a monster hiding right in plain sight.

If you were in the bridal scene in the 2010s, chances are you remember J.Crew's bridal collection. The classic American brand traded boat shoes for ballgowns from 2004 until 2016, opening their first bridal boutique along NYC's Madison Avenue in 2010. Tragically, the once go-to shop for ready-to-wear bridal and bridesmaid gear was sunsetted as J.Crew went back to their traditional roots, leaving a gaping hole in the market.

Don't worry, though. J.Crew weddings may be a thing of the past, but we've got plenty of new brands with their own collections of stylish, classic wedding apparel — whether you're a bride, bridesmaid or guest.

What happened to Van in 'Yellowjackets'?

Showtime

In Yellowjackets season 3, episode 9, the living adult women cross paths with adult Melissa after thinking she was dead for years.

When the group finds out that Melissa faked her own suicide, came up with a new identity, and married the daughter of a woman they killed in the wilderness, needless to say they feel pretty suspicious of Melissa's motives. Things get especially dicey when everyone learns that Melissa sent Shauna a tape recording of one of their notorious wilderness feasts — some of the only actual evidence of their more heinous acts during their time stranded in the woods.

While Melissa's tied up (in her own home, I might add), she turns on the fireplace and keeps the flu closed. Tai and Shauna get CO2 poisoning while Van is outside, leaving Van to save them as quickly as possible. After rescuing her friends, Van unties Melissa to confront her, but can't bring herself to kill Melissa.

Much to everyone's surprise, Melissa doesn't take this mercy with kindness. She turns the knife on Van, stabbing and killing her. Much like Van's literal bleeding heart, I was broken after that.

Where did 'Yellowjackets' season 3 film?

Showtime

According to IMDB, Yellowjackets is filmed in British Columbia, Canada and Los Angeles.

Is 'Yellowjackets' based on a true story?

Showtime

No, Yellowjackets is (thankfully) not based on a true story!
