Make the Most Magical Unicorn Tree of All Time

Fun fact alert! A group of unicorns is called a *blessing.* No joke! Inspired by this new knowledge, we’re bringing good tidings this Christmas with this super dreamy unicorn tree. After all, we do love everything and anything unicorns! These beauties are not the most graceful, but they sure are cute, cuddly and easy to make. So, read on to check out this unicorn horn tree topper and blessing of ornaments tutorial to add even more magic to the holiday season.

Materials + Tools:

Instructions:

  1. Cut out your unicorn template.
  2. Fold your white felt in half. Trace the unicorn template and cut, so you end up with two pieces.

  1. Draw half-moon eyes on the unicorns. Use this line as a stencil to stitch in the closed eyes with three lashes.
  2. Next, make your accent pieces. Create the tail and hanging look out of your embroidery floss. Cut a two-inch piece of string and make a loop knot at the bottom, forming an O.
  3. For the tail, cut a five-inch piece of string. Fold into thirds and tie at one end. Trim excess string.
  4. Using the template, cut a unicorn horn out of the gray felt and the mane out of your accent colored felt.
  5. Lay out your pieces (horn, mane, tail and hang string). On the inside of one unicorn piece, hot glue on your pieces. Glue the other body on top and you’re done.
  6. Next, make your unicorn horn topper. Trace and cut out the felt using the unicorn horn tree topper template.
  7. Twist into a cone and cut off any excess felt.
  8. Cut a long piece of the accent embroidery floss, thread and tie at one end. Stitch through the tip and wrap around the cone. At the bottom, stitch the thread into the inside of the cone. Tie off and cut off any excess thread.
  9. At the seam, glue the string so that it stays in place.
  10. Time to deck the tree out!

Get ready to make the cutest, fluffiest unicorn ever, but first you have to cut out the template.

Fold the white felt in half, and trace your template. Fabric scissors are super sharp and make it much easier to cut out the details.

Draw matching half moons for the unicorn eyes. Make sure that they’re mirrored so they show up on the outside of your unicorn when you glue the two pieces together. Using the line as a guide, stitch the eyes on with black thread. Make three stitches at the end of the arc for eyelashes.

Next, create your details. Make a two-inch loop and knot at the end for your hanging string. Fold a five-inch piece of string into thirds and tie at one end. Trim both ends and cut off any excess string. This will be your magical little tail.

Trace and cut the mane and unicorn horn.

Now bring it all together! Sandwich your horn, mane, tail and hanging string between the two pieces of unicorn body. It’s best to glue all of the pieces to one side first and then add the final unicorn body.

Time to make the unicorn horn tree topper. Trace and cut your felt. Glue one end and roll into a cone.

Add some pizzazz with your accent embroidery floss. With a knot at one end, stitch through the top of the cone and then wrap around toward the bottom. Stitch back through the felt and tie off, so that your knot is hidden on the inside of the cone. Finally, glue the string to your felt at the back of the horn so it stays in place.

Look how cute! Now all you have to do is make MORE unicorns.

Like a whole BLESSING of ‘em.

Now you can totally deck out that tree!

Vision boards are one of the most effective tools that you can use to build your business, your life, and your hobbies and I'm so excited to get my 2025 vision board going! Thoughtfully done, this process brings shape to dreams and emotions you're aiming for in the weeks and months ahead. Simply going through the process can bring clarity to your thinking, focus to your plans, and can leave you with a curated visual + tangible reminder of the life you want to build. But not only is the finished product fun to look at — the process is fun to make!

Here's how to get started to create your own vision board for 2025.

SUPPLIES

Brit + Co

Surface

I love white or black foam core board for creating vision boards. There are LOADS of sizes and options for this, so have fun picking the right one for you.

Adhesive

Glue sticks, Washi tape or pushpins work equally well. I prefer something non-permanent so I can revise my board as the year moves along.

Cutting tools

X-acto knife, ruler, scissors or a paper cutter are all great tools to have on hand.

Images

Magazines, old books, photographs all work well.

Set the vibe

A good playlist to inspire creative vibes, a big work area (floors work great for this!) and light some candles to keep it dreamy and inspiring.

Nosh and nourish

A cheese board, some wine, and good chocolate. All things are better with chocolate, right?

GET TO MAKING

Brit + Co

Set an intention. Or many.

I like to make one vision board for my entire world — work, family, love, hobbies, wellness, travel. Others prefer to have a separate vision board for each area of their life, or to only focus on one for the entire year. Let your intuition guide you here and decide the best approach for you. Really think about what you want to accomplish in the coming year. What emotions do you want to feel more of? Less of? How do you want to live?

You might find it best to journal about this prior to starting the image-gathering process to really bring clarity to mind. This intentional thinking will be important as you select images for your 2025 vision board. Try some Winter Journal Prompts For Improving Your Relationship or go for Emma Watson's Daily Journal Prompts!

Brit + Co

Curate images.

Find images that support your intention, and the life you want to build in the year ahead. Images should not just portray the WHAT of what you want, but also the EMOTION. The colors, people, and objects that show up on your final board should bring a smile to your face. I collect LOTS of images in a Pinterest board when I'm in the intention setting phase to have an abundance to choose from as I start my planning. Great resources for images are favorite blogs, Pinterest, Instagram, and Unsplash — really any image that speaks to you is vision board worthy.

Brit + Co

Build your 2025 vision board.

A reminder, this board is JUST FOR YOU so arrange the images in a way that speaks to your soul. You could organize each area by focus (work or home, for example.) Or let the colors of the images guide you in how they are arranged. There is no right or wrong way to do this — so just arrange and rearrange until you find what works for you. Stick the images to your surface once you've found a layout that you love.

Brit + Co

Find a home for your board.

Pick a spot in your home or workspace that you'll see your board regularly. The magic of this work comes in not just the building, but the visual reminder it gives you to give your time, energy, and resources to the things that support the life you want to build.

Brit + Co

Review often.

I'm a big fan of viewing these boards as evolving pieces of work. Take time to review it often and rearrange, add, or remove as needed to keep it as aspirational and inspiring as you need to move you toward your goals.

Giving yourself space, time, and a creative outlet to dream about your future is such a gift. One that can bring more positivity, intention, and purpose to your year ahead.

It's another week, so it's officially time for a brand new weekly horoscope! Whether you're navigating the New Moon, or simply just trying to get through the day, the stars have plenty to offer you for the week ahead. Here's what you can expect for your zodiac sign — and be sure to check your sun AND rising signs while you're reading!

Here's your weekly horoscope for January 26-February 2, 2025!

What's Happening Astrologically This Week

Linda Rodriguez/Dupe

This week continues with a strong Aquarius theme. Not only is the Sun and Pluto in Aquarius but Mercury, the planet of communication, thought, and learning, moves into Aquarius on January 27, followed by the New Moon in Aquarius on January 29.

When Mercury enters Aquarius, our thought processes speed up. We can assimilate new information, design unique solutions, and access an open-minded, electric energy that may feel both chaotic and energizing. It’s important to ground yourself so this exhilarating energy is channeled positively.

On January 28, Mercury and Pluto align in Aquarius. This alignment allows us to use our words and thoughts to uncover hidden truths within ourselves, our relationships, and our work. Be mindful of the power of your words and aim to use them for good.

Nai Vid/Dupe

The New Moon on January 29 is an excellent time to make plans—not only for the coming month but also for the near and long-term future. How can you create a life that feels more fulfilling, joyful, and aligned with your soul’s purpose? This is not about external success but about an internal shift. Write your intentions in a journal and use the next month to reaffirm your goals. The power of positive thinking is amplified under this New Moon.

A sense of discontent has been common in recent months for many. As Uranus moves direct, its unpredictable energy can help propel you forward into action. This may manifest in the financial arena; if you’ve been procrastinating or feeling stuck, now is the time to address financial issues. Consider meeting with a financial planner for long-term planning or simply tackle your taxes early.

Anne-Gaëlle C./Dupe

January 30 could be a lucky day. The Sun forms a trine with Jupiter, the planet of expansion, growth, and luck. This is not a passive energy — it requires action to make the most of it.

On February 1, a beautiful opportunity emerges to integrate an all-encompassing love into your life. Venus, the planet of personal love, conjuncts Neptune, the planet of universal love. Practice kindness and compassion, and don’t wait until Valentine’s Day to express your love to those around you.
