If you’re looking for a new kind of getaway, there are plenty of quirky, Instagram-worthy places to stay on Airbnb. Whether you’re in the mood for something rustic or flat-out bizarre, they’ve got you covered. After trolling the site (with some major wanderlust), we’ve rounded up some of the best (and most unusual) spots out there for your viewing pleasure. From a new kind of glamping in a restored 1920s sheep wagon to your own private yacht and crew in the Mediterranean, these “hotels” are all kinds of crazy awesome.

1. The Muffin Mansion ($65+ per night): Visit Oakland, CA, and stay a few nights in this 1964 Kenskill camper that’s been restored to all its multicolored glory. You’ll get the most out of urban glamping on this small plot of land (with chickens) that’s just a 30-minute BART ride from San Francisco.

2. The Geo Dome ($350+ per night): Located in the southern Catskill Mountains in the town of Woodridge, NY, the Geo Dome is a modern-day yurt that offers you views of the surrounding sheep, goats, rabbits and chickens that wander the farm. Take advantage of the clawfoot bathtub and fire pit while you’re busy getting away from city life.

3. Spacious Airplane Apartment (Contact for availability): Unfortunately not available to rent at the moment, this airplane is so stylish we’d like to live here all the time. Who would argue with a home that has 116 windows? House rules include not trying to fly the plane, which is totally fine by us.

4. The Barn ($300+ per night): A chic, rustic place to stay in the Hudson River Valley, the Barn has an open-loft floor plan with a wood-burning stove for those brutal New York winters. And for sticky, humid summers, AC and a private outdoor shower will keep you cool. It sleeps up to 8, but with four acres of romantic surroundings including a pond, stream and fire pits, you might just want it to be a two-person getaway.

5. Fully Restored 1920s Sheep Wagon ($100+ per night): Sometimes you just want to get back to basics, even if that means going all Oregon Trail on your vacay. Visit Shirley Basin, WY, for a chance to park this 1920s-era sheep wagon — complete with a full-size bed and wood-burning stove — anywhere on the 30,000 acre ranch. Unplug and enjoy the streams, petrified forest, wildflowers and wildlife that occupy this family-run, 100-year-old ranch.

6. The Iglu Village ($115+ per night): This one-of-a-kind village in Austria is located high in the mountains of the Kuhtai ski resort. Sleep on the sheepskin-covered bed surrounded by snow and ice, and in the morning, enjoy a husky workshop or a game of traditional Tyrolean curling.

7. Secluded Tree House ($350+ per night): Who would think that in a bustling city like Atlanta you’d find a quiet treehouse escape? This magical floating compound in the woods has three tree houses connected by illuminated rope bridges. Don’t miss out on the hammock for an extra dose of rest and relaxation.

8. A Fairytale Gingerbread House ($120+ per night): Even more surprising is this “gingerbread” house in Geyserville, CA. The loft-style bedroom inside and stained glass windows will make you feel like you’ve traveled back in time to a land far, far away.

9. Houseboat on a Canal ($76+ per night): The Netherlands is known for its winding canals and the cozy houseboats that occupy them. This 100-year-old houseboat in the young, hip town of Groningen is surprisingly spacious and has all the amenities you’ll need. A stay on this conveniently located boat includes a terrace for catching some sun and a grassy knoll that begs for a picnic.

10. Triangle Cottage ($220+ per night): Enjoy the epic vistas Iceland has to offer from the triangle-shaped windows of this summer retreat. Sitting in the center of an old lava field, this eye-catching cottage is surrounded by lush vegetation that includes wild berries in the summer season.

11. The Seashell House ($225+ per night): Your eyes do not deceive you; this blazing white house is in fact shaped like a cluster of seashells. It’s pretty much perfect for the beach destination of Isla Mujeres, Mexico. With its gorgeous pool and serene surroundings, the Seashell House offers a hideaway for anyone looking to avoid the touristy scene. Just make sure you like geckos, because there are a lot of ’em around here.

12. Restored 200-Year-Old Church ($110+ per night): If you’ve ever wanted the chance to spend the night in a national monument, just go to Galway, Ireland, and stay in Bookeen Hall, a Church of Ireland chapel that was built in 1808. You’ll be pleasantly surprised when you walk in and see the renovated rooms and modern furnishings. And to top it all off, your hosts will even treat you to a continental breakfast each morning.

13. The Cave House ($70+ per night): If you’re visiting Spain, you have to spend at least one night in a cave like this stylish one in Granada. You probably won’t feel too claustrophobic, but if you need to get outdoors, city center is only a 20-minute walk.

14. Royal Train Carriage ($114+ per night): There’s something so romantic about trains, and this elegant train car is no exception. Surrounded by vineyards in New South Wales, Australia, this car accommodates two, with enough space for a luxurious bed and spa bathtub. Talk about a perfect spot for a second honeymoon.

15. Bonita Domes ($85+ per night): Get back to nature with a night in a sleep pod at the private, high-desert retreat of Bonita Domes located in Joshua Tree, CA. With a communal shower house, an outhouse and an outdoor kitchen, there won’t be a whole lot of privacy around here. But the stunning views of the starry sky more than make up for it.

16. Classic Yacht in Cinque Terre ($756+ per night): Head straight to Italy to live the high life on a private yacht that comes complete with your very own crew. The Rondine II is moored in Cinque Terre National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site comprised of five villages tucked into the cliffside and only accessible by sea. Take a gastronomic adventure through the villages, which are known for growing all their own fresh ingredients.

Glamping in the Columbia Gorge ($149+ per night): Just 2 miles from the Pacific Crest Trail in Stevenson, WA, this camping site might not look like much, but it has all the essentials for a pleasant night spent under the stars. With a hot shower, flushing toilet, internet and fully stocked kitchen, this space has everything you’ll need. The 18-foot teepee and outdoor kitchenette overlooking the beautiful Columbia Gorge are just icing on the cake… but wait, did we mention there’s even a keg on-site filled with a local microbrew? Our glamping dreams have been answered!

18. The Cubehouse ($145+ per night): This three-story architectural wonder sits in the city center of Rotterdam, South Holland, and with its slanted walls and interesting angles you might feel a little like you’re in a funhouse. But the stylish modern furnishings and 360-degree city view from the top floor are well worth the funhouse feel. The Cubehouse is also conveniently located near a train station that’s only a 50-minute ride to Amsterdam.

As brilliant of a writer as she was, Joan had a complicated relationship with Eve Babitz. They started as close friends, but time gave way to sour feelings. Truthfully, Eve was the only person who truly understood Joan and was able to decode the mysterious nature of her former friend. It is through her letters that Anolik was able to pen this eye-opening novel.

Tom Holland and Zendaya basically broke the internet when they graced the cover of The Hollywood Reporter's Nov. 2016 issue. The shoot was filled with plenty of classic Hollywood throwbacks, but I have always *loved* the blue dress Z wears on the cover. "Over the moon with my first cover," Tom writes on Instagram. "So grateful that I got to share it with the one and only @zendaya. Thanks mate for helping me out."

July 13, 2017 — Tom Holland And Zendaya Are Reportedly Dating

In July 2017, a source seemingly confirmed what many fans had been wondering for months: that Tom Holland and Zendaya had been dating. Considering the two other sets of Spider-Man leads (Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst and Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield) both dated, it felt like this was one relationship that was bound to happen.

"They started seeing each other while they were filming Spider-Man," the insider tells People. "They've been super careful to keep it private and out of the public eye but they've gone on vacations with each other and try and spend as much time as possible with one another."

"They're both really ambitious and they challenge each other — but, most importantly, they make each other crack up," says another insider. "They seem to have a really similar sense of humor and love joking around together."

Tom Holland and Zendaya actually took to Twitter (now X) to tackle the rumors. "Wait wait...my favorite is when it says we go on vacations together HA! I haven't been on a vacation in years!" Zendaya says, to which Tomreplies, "Does the press tour count[?]"

November 17, 2021 — Tom Holland And Zendaya Open Up About Their Relationship

In an interview with GQ, Tom Holland opened up about his relationship with Zendaya and how their relationship to fame has impacted everything. "One of the downsides of our fame is that privacy isn’t really in our control anymore, and a moment that you think is between two people that love each other very much is now a moment that is shared with the entire world,” he says of their July 2 kiss. “I’ve always been really adamant to keep my private life private, because I share so much of my life with the world anyway...We sort of felt robbed of our privacy.”

“It was quite strange and weird and confusing and invasive,” Zendaya agrees. “I think loving someone is a sacred thing and a special thing and something that you want to deal with and go through and experience and enjoy amongst the two people that love each other."

“Our relationship is something that we are incredibly protective of and we want to keep as sacred as possible," Tom later told The Hollywood Reporter. "We don’t think that we owe it to anyone, it’s our thing, and it has nothing to do with our careers.”

Zendaya shattered records when she became the youngest person to win the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Rue in Euphoria. Tom also made headlines related to Euphoria when he said he'd be interested in making a cameo in the series. "I would be in Euphoria. In her Vogue cover story for May 2024, Zendaya talks a lot about how fame has affected both her life and Tom Holland's. “His [career] changed overnight. One day you’re a kid and you’re at the pub with your friends, and then the next day you’re Spider-Man,” she says. “I definitely watched his life kind of change in front of him. But he handled it really beautifully.”

That star power was evident in 2022, when Tom Holland and Zendaya spent the afternoon at the Louvre in Paris...and almost broke the internet. “You just kind of get used to the fact that, 'Oh, I’m also one of these art pieces you’re going to take a picture of. Tom Holland showed up for the London premiere of Challengers, and got to support Zendaya in the sweetest way. In this video captured at the premiere, you can see Tom and Z share a hug and a kiss on the cheek during the evening. Even the smallest gesture can mean a lot during a busy night, and I love how in sync Tom Holland and Zendaya are!

After going sober in 2022, Tom Holland announced on October 15 he was launching a non-alcoholic drink company called Bero. “When I got sober, I started exploring the world of non-alcoholic beers and realized there was space for me to fit in,” Tom says in an interview with Forbes. “My first year sober was really difficult, and had I had Bero, I think it would have been easier.”

“Zendaya hates beer, like, absolutely hates beer," he continues. And when she helped with the taste testing, a joke helped guide the overall brand. "She does not drink beer at all, and the first round of testing she was like, ‘Wow, these are really tasty’, and I was like, ‘Well, that's probably not a good sign.'"

How To Nail Halloween Cry Makeup That's Still Pretty

Alright, this was definitely an interesting Halloween makeup tutorial to do for y’all, but it had to be done! There seems to be a handful of pop culture-inspired opportunities to rep this look on Halloween. From Bey’s awesome sad streaks in her “Why Don’t You Love Me” music video to the repeated "Girls will cry and girls will lie" in Sabrina Carpenter's "Lie to Girls," you can pretty much turn anything into a sad version as long it’s done well. Whether you are going for a scary or gory look — BTW, you can totally switch out the black liner here for a red one to make this bloody eye makeup (Max Mayfield anyone?) — you’ll still look pretty. Sad, but pretty.

Prep: Flawless Face + Smokey Eye

Follow this tutorial to get your base makeup started. Add a pretty dramatic smokey eye. Layer up the eyeliner on both your upper and lower lash line — you’re going to need the extra pigment to help get those sad little makeup streaks to fall down your pretty little cheeks.

Step 1: Concealer

Normally I say keep it light on the concealer so it does not get cakey or look too heavy. In this case, you are going to be adding water and messing with the under eye area more than normal, so you want to go a bit more dramatic in this department. Apply an upside-down triangle shape and then blend in with a brush.

Step 2: Visine

Add a few drops of Visine to your lower lash line. Be sure to start off by focusing on one eye, because you want to take the next step immediately so you don’t lose the Visine drop.

Step 3: Smear

Brit + Co

Use a thin makeup brush to gently encourage your eyeliner to bleed in the same pattern that the Visine drops are falling down your face.

Step 4: Highlight

Brit + Co

Add a pop of deep silver metallic shadow to the inside corners of your eyes. This is going to give the highlight and dimension we want, but it'll maintain more of a moody vibe.

Step 5: Repeat

Go through these same four steps on the other eye! Easy peasy.
