15 Tips to Wake Up With Perfect Hair

Isn’t it every girl’s dream to go to bed and magically wake up to perfect hair like the movies? Instead of waking up at the crack of dawn so you have time to tame your mane perfectly, get that much needed beauty sleep and try these tricks before you go to bed. Whether you have natural texture, long curls or a pixie cut, there is a trick to get gorgeous locks while you snooze. Because, really, we shouldn’t have to choose between getting enough sleep and looking gorgeous.

1. Long Beach Waves: To get those perfect, messy curls, take a shower at night, towel dry your hair and divide it into four sections. Spray tanning oil ($8) into your hair and twirl it while you watch TV. There are rumors that the oils will make your hair grow faster, which is pretty rad if you’re going for a longer ‘do for fall. 2. The Modern Crimp: If you want to get a little crimp-y, apply Mousse Bouffante ($37) from the roots to the ends of your damp hair. Then, starting at cheek level, braid your hair into four braids. In the morning, you’ll have fluffy curls at the bottom, but a sleek look at the top of your head for a more modern crimp. (via Refinery29)

3. Natural Curls: Natural hair’s worst nightmare is waking up to a face full of frizz. Keep your curls perfect with a technique called “pineappling.” Wrap your hair on the top of your head with a silk scarf ($41) — don’t use cotton, it will strip moisture from your hair. Then tie the scraf at the base for a turban that kind of looks like a pineapple! (via Refinery29)

4. Luscious Long Locks: Once a week, completely soak all your hair in coconut oil ($13) overnight. Then wash it out in the morning. Believe it or not, coconut oil will actually keep your hair grease-free for up to four days with a little help from dry shampoo or baby powder. Since everyday shampooing is really rough on hair, this is a great trick to get stronger healthy locks, especially if you have thinner hair. (via Annapolis and Company)

5. Delicate Waves: Have a mop that doesn’t hold curl very well? Try using a styling mousse ($37) on damp hair. After lathering up, wrap your hair into four twisted buns; the buns give a looser, more beachy wave than what leaving your hair in braids will do. (via NY Mag)

6. Textured Bob: For those of you with straight, fine hair, your goal is to keep your locks from falling flat after just one night. Braid your hair into six separate little braids, making sure to not braid too tightly and leaving a couple inches at the end of each. You want texture, not an ’80s poof! Thoroughly mist this Coconut Milk and Peaches Detangler ($11) into each of your braids. In the morning just shake them out and you’ve got texture! (via Refinery29)

7. Curl Conservation: There is nothing worse then getting the most perfect head of curls and then knowing that when you wake up in the morning they will all be just a knotted, tangled mess. If you want to get your curls to last another day, spray your hair with Moroccan Oil Medium Hold Hairspray ($17), then wrap it into two buns. This will keep your curls from getting dry and frizzy and save you from another long morning of curling-iron work! (via Duckings In A Row)

8. Wavy Bob: To magically wake up with perfect waves, apply Shimmer Mask ($68) to your hair after a shower, and rinse it out after 20 minutes. Apply a leave-in conditioner or Argan oil. Then, go to bed with wet hair. Since your hair is so well-moisturized, you’ll wake up to chunky waves instead of dry frizz. (via Stylelist)

9. Elegant Wrap: For an overnight style that looks as pretty going to bed as it does waking up, try this curl technique that uses an elastic headband ($3). Starting from the front, wrap your hair around the headband, and leave it overnight. (via Made By Jimin)

10. Volumized Pixie Cut: To avoid dealing with wet hair in the morning, spray dry shampoo ($6) into your roots before you go to bed. Instead of waking up to oily, flat hair, you’ll have dry textured locks that are totally ready for whatever styling you want to do. (via Refinery29)

11. Consistent Curls: If what you want is consistent, uniform curls, then try this trick. Spray your hair with Hydrating Hair Milk ($28) and divide your tresses in half. Twist each half in toward the back of your head, then bobby pin each twisted section across the top of your head like a headband. Instead of crimped braided curls or random kinks from buns, you’ll get a perfect curl in the AM. (via Brit + Co)

12. Sleep On Silk: Simply sleeping on silk sheets will help keep your locks from tangling and will add extra bounce to your curls! Applying a Curl Smoothing Cream ($12). Twisting your hair into loose ringlets will also help give your hair soft curls when you wake up in the morning. (via Pop XO)

13. Long Thick Hair: On the nights when you want to take a shower before bed, put your hair into a French braid before sleeping; the braid will give your hair mermaid texture. In the morning, just add some bigger curls with a Conair Curling Iron ($18) to get a lot of volume with only half the effort! (via Brit + Co)

14. The Vintage Wave: Waking up to curls like these almost seems too good to be true, but you really can do it! Saturate your damp hair with Texture Spray ($36), then divide your hair into a deep side part. Wind two-inch sections of hair into little pin curls and secure each with a bobby pin. In the morning, just brush out the curls for those perfectly shiny, loose rings. (via Refinery29)

15. Sock Bun Waves: If you have fairly straight hair and just want a little bit of volume but not a lot of curls, try the Bun Shaper ($6). Just put slightly damp hair up in a big bun. In the morning, tousle out the curls for lovely loose volume. (via Daily Makeover)

Dua Lipa and Callum Turner spent New Years Eve together, and based on the giant ring Dua's wearing on THAT finger, it looks like they could be spending the rest of their lives together too! This celebrity couple were first spotted together in January 2024, and immediately became my favorite couple, like, ever. Engagement rumors were flying by the end of the year, and thanks to Dua Lipa's latest Instagram posts, the internet is more convinced than ever that these two will be headed down the aisle soon.

Here's everything we know about those Dua Lipa and Callum Turner engagement rumors.

Dua Lipa's been wearing a gorgeous ring on THAT finger since Christmas.

In a post celebrating the holidays, Dua Lipa posted a roundup of photos — led by a shot of her wearing a sherpa jacket and reindeer antlers. But as fun as her outfit is, the internet immediately focused on another detail: her new ring. It appears to be a diamond on a chunky gold band, and if you ask me, the ring's modern, glam look is the perfect vibe for the "Houdini" singer.

"THE RING," one user commented, while another user said, "ENGAGED VIBESSSSSSSSSS," under another end-of-year post.

And when Dua Lipa finally posted photos from her epic New Year's Eve celebration on January 3, a third user commented, "We all still waiting to see the 💍." TLDR; the singer's fans really want to know if she's engaged! But if there's one thing I know for sure, it's that this couple won't tell us unless they want to. And I'm here for it!

And Dua Lipa and Callum Turner are totally "mad about each other."

Dua Lipa and Callum Turner keep their relationship pretty private (aside from some very cute walks), but according to one Page Six source, they've been "mad about each other" from the start. And it's clear because these two can't keep their hands off each other!

"Dua and Callum are so in love and know this is forever," a source told The Sun in December 2024. “They are engaged and couldn’t be happier. Dua has had one of the best years of her career professionally and this is the cherry on the cake."

"Callum is such a solid support for Dua and they make a wonderful couple," the source continues. "Their family and friends are so happy. It’s been an amazing Christmas for them.”

Stay tuned for the latest news on Dua Lipa and Callum Turner's potential engagement, and read up on Tom Holland and Zendaya's engagement!
