Wedding decor doesn’t stop at the flowers. When looking for the elements that will make your wedding feel unique and in line with your personal style, consider checking a few of your favorite stores first. Before diving into the wedding decor hunt, consider function, the style of your wedding and the tables and stations or lounge areas that need a little something special. Stay focused and you’ll wind up with pieces that could be used again in your home or at your office.
West Elm is great for a more modern style. Plain white pots like these would make for perfectly simple and adaptable wedding decor. Place the pots at the top of your aisle, or stagger them on tiered stands near an escort card table at the reception for added drama. If your reception venue is feeling a little too big and empty in a few places, adding real potted plants can create a chic moment of lush greenery — and you won’t have to break the bank on a large floral installment. These would also look great with a little DIY gold-dipped bottom. (Photo via West Elm)
Thrift Stores
If you are lucky enough to live near some good thrift stores, we suggest hitting them up whenever possible. You can find some incredible items at prices your wallet will love. Our current faves are metal and mirrored trays to bring a little vintage character. After just a bit of polishing, you’ll have a wonderful way to elevate a floral centerpiece or display your signature cocktail. (Photo via Jenny Does Weddings)
Target
We especially love Target’s incredible selection of items inspired and curated by top designers and stylists. Currently, we can’t get enough of their selection of mid-century modern pieces that range from upholstered seats to lamps. You can decorate your guest book sign-in table with two lamps and add one of your engagement pictures to a modern frame. Accent it all with a statement piece such as a figurine or bud vase and you’ll have one beautifully styled vignette. (Photo via Emily Henderson)
Craigslist
As a wedding planner myself, I’ll admit that I am on Craigslist at least three times a week, especially the antiques section. You can find amazing deals on vintage glassware, china and even a statement pieces for a lounge. If you look long and hard enough, you can find the perfect love seat for the sweetheart table of your dreams. Plus, there’s always the joy of haggling and getting a seller down to a price you’re both happy with. (Photo via Lauren Louise Photography)
HomeGoods
Like Target, HomeGoods is an excellent place to find affordable decor, but not just for your home. I use their frame section all the time for my clients. They carry styles that range from modern to rustic and can display vintage wedding pictures from your family tree. (Photo via HomeGoods)
Anthropologie
If geometric glass vessels aren’t filling up your Instagram feed right now, then we don’t know who you are following. Everyone is loving these for their succulent terrariums, their jewelry collection and even floral arrangements. But it’s the large pillar candles surrounded by a geometric glass lantern that tops the list for my favorite way to add a moment of modern-boho design to an aisle or centerpiece. And if you haven’t checked out BLHDN yet, get ready to swoon over their gorgeous dresses, accessories and small decor items. (Photo via Anthropologie)
Amazon
Amazon is a great place to find items like 12-hour votive candles, any item you could hope to add to your welcome bag, canvas or paper gift bags and ESOS lip balm for your bridal party. Sign up for Amazon Prime and you’ll save on shipping and have items delivered the very next day. (Photo via Amazon)
