This Wes Anderson-Themed Airbnb Is the Whimsical Getaway of Your Dreams
We don’t need to tell you that Airbnb is chock full of gems, whether you’re getting out of town for a destination bachelorette party, going glamping Airstream-style, or in need of an alternative to a hotel while on vacay. Sometimes, you even come across one so perfect that you consider planning a whole trip around it, which is exactly how we’re feeling about this Wes Anderson-themed Canadian dream home. Finally, our chance to live like Margot Tenenbaum.
Located about two hours outside Toronto in the rural Ontario community of Prince Edward County, a place known for its wineries, food, and arts culture, the 100+ year-old home has been outfitted as an adorable ode to Anderson’s whimsical work. Whether you consider yourself a Royal Tenenbaum or a lifelong student of Rushmore Academy, you need to see each and every room.
Some of the details are a little more subtle, like the reading nook inspired by Suzy’s bedroom in Moonrise Kingdom.

Colorful accents in homage to the Darjeeling Limited make this already-amazing kitchen all the more inviting.
Max Fischer would approve of the Rushmore-inspired details in Mr. Anderson’s House.

The host, Dayna Winter, describes it on Airbnb as a “work in progress and ever-evolving art project,” and one of the property’s most recent Instagram photos shows that even guests are contributing to the decor. “In the beginning, when I was new to the game, the guests seemed to be booking based on the area and because they liked the home,” she tells Brit + Co in an email. “Now, I have proportionately more people coming for the Wes Anderson experience. It’s really cool to see how people really get into it — I see a lot of fun little photo shoots on Instagram!” One recent guest even made and left this incredible doll of Sam from Moonrise Kingdom.
Enviably, Winter is actually currently living in the house full-time (!), meaning that rental availability is a little more restricted but that her life is basically a dream. That said, if you do manage to snag a booking, the location also boasts shops, cafes, and restaurants within walking distance, and beautiful beaches just a short drive away. BRB, planning a trip here stat.
