Amy Schumer Continues to Rule the Universe With This Huge News
Amy Schumer is unstoppable. The summer was pretty much all about her, starring and writing in her hit film Trainwreck (and looking gorg at every premiere), giving us MAJOR FOMO galavanting around with new BFF (or F) Jennifer Lawrence and taking home an Emmy for her Comedy Central show Inside Amy Schumer on Sunday night. Now this major announcement is furthering her streak of winning at life: Amy Schumer just signed a book deal, and it isn’t just any book deal — the winning bid for the project from a still-unknown publisher is reportedly somewhere between $8 to $10 million. Who run the world?
Though details are being kept under wraps, Publishers Weekly says the book will center on Schumer’s “childhood, how she got her big break in comedy, her family and feminism.” Throw in a few LOL-worthy stories like the time she thought she was dating Bradley Cooper after having just one convo with the star (we probably would too) and we’re sold! We’re also thinking a forward by Lawrence, who she is working on a screenplay with, isn’t a bad idea either.
Funny women writing honest, funny books is definitely a trend right now/hopefully forever — Mindy Kaling, Tina Fey, Lena Dunham and Amy Poehler have all jumped on the train — but we know Schumer will add her own unique voice to the mix. It’ll be a little while until the book comes out, so in the meantime, you’ll just have to nab tickets to her comedy tour, watch her host episode two of the new season of Saturday Night Live, watch season 4 of Inside Amy Schumer and wait for Trainwreck to come out on Netflix and On Demand. We don’t mind this Amy Schumer-filled universe one bit.
