Amy Schumer Says Her New Husband Chris Fischer Is ”Really Proud” of Her
Amy Schumer left fans surprised and thrilled when she revealed that she had married chef Chris Fischer in a stealthy ceremony back in February. While the actor-comedian has remained relatively quiet about her new spouse, her recent remarks about her husband’s reaction to her latest film, I Feel Pretty, give a super sweet glimpse into the pair’s relationship.
The newlywed sat down with E! News to chat about the movie. In it, she plays Renee Bennett, a woman who suffers a fall and wakes up believing that she is the most beautiful woman in the world. When the actress was asked about her husband’s reaction to the comedy, she said with a smile, “He’s really proud of me. He’s proud of this movie.”
Schumer also got sentimental about the perks of being married, showing a softer side of herself in the process: “The best part is just having a partner and being like ‘I got a team.’ It was just me and [my dog] Tatiana and now it’s cool, you got someone to go through life with together — that you love and you want to be partnered up with.”
Schumer met her husband through her assistant, who is the sister of the award-winning chef and arranged for him to come and cook for them during a trip to Martha’s Vineyard. Amy says that she knew Fischer for about six months before they started dating, but that it only took one month of being together to realize that he was the one. And considering how supportive he is of her work, it’s easy to understand why she felt that way.
I Feel Pretty, which also stars Emily Ratajkowski, Aidy Bryant, and IRL besties Busy Philipps and Michelle Williams, hits theaters on April 20.
