Amy Schumer Only Tried on 1 Wedding Dress Before Walking Down the Aisle
In case you haven’t heard, Amy Schumer is officially a married woman! The comedian tied the knot with chef Chris Fischer in a surprise seaside ceremony the day before Valentine’s Day, but lucky for stylist, Leesa Evans, the process of choosing the 36-year-old’s gown proved to be extremely simple — she only tried on one dress!
In an interview with InStyle, Evans recalls her client’s casual announcement, which came by way of text. “Hey, call me when you wake up tomorrow, Chris and I are gonna get married,” Schumer wrote.
According to Evans, the process of choosing her wedding gown was equally as chill: “[Amy] stepped right into [the dress] and we just knew it was right,” the fashion guru shared, adding that the gown was the *only* one the I Feel Pretty star tried on (!). “It was an effortless and simple sort of magic to putting on that dress.”
She wasn’t kidding — the blushing bride looked positively radiant in her Monique Lhullier Severine Chantilly Lace & Tulle spaghetti strap frock ($5,490) with its A-line skirt and subtle floral detailing.
The blonde beauty also went jewelry-free (save for her engagement ring). “Amy has traditionally never loved wearing jewelry and the ring that Chris gave her is really the first piece of jewelry she will have worn for years and years,” Evans dished to People. “And so it was so sweet that the first piece of jewelry she’s worn in so long is so special and beautiful.”
She also kept her shoes comfy, opting for some comfy scalloped white flats from Chloé ($495).
For dancing at the reception, Schumer switched into even *simpler* garb, opting for a low-key piece designed by the Olsen twins — a plain white slip from their fashion line, The Row (seen in the gallery from Schumer’s Instagram post above). It was “[an] easy thing for her to throw on,” Evans explained.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
