This Student’s Grad Photo Is Going Viral Because of Her Love of Highlighter
There are certain beauty products that attract such a following, they’re basically celebrities in their own right: the rose gold Smith & Cult polish that sold out in record time or Pat McGrath’s bestsellers that evoked such a reaction, she had to bring it back. One college student loved her highlighter SO much, it made a debut in her graduation photo.
Polytechnic University of the Philippines graduate Janssen Mendoza posted her graduation pic on Instagram with the caption: “@anastasiabeverlyhills is lifeeeee,”and makeup junkies from all over the world are loving it. YAAAAAS, girl!

Mendoza did admit that while she wasn’t the first one to do this (others have shown their love for makeup in their grad photos too), she wanted to do her own version. The 19-year-old, who works as a makeup artist on the side, told Seventeen magazine that she hopes the photo will work to break down stereotypes.“I posted this picture to show that I could pursue my love for makeup while excelling in academics,” Mendoza said. “I’m a full scholar and a candidate for hours. I just want to prove to others that I can do both.”
