Anna Faris Had a Sweet (and Funny) Response to Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger’s Engagement
Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger are celebrating their engagement this week, and they’re not the only ones: Pratt’s ex-wife Anna Faris has been vocal about her support and love of the couple, both on social media and on her podcast.
“I’ve always wanted to be really open with my amazing listeners,” Faris said on the latest episode of Anna Faris Is Unqualified. “Sweet Chris, my ex, got engaged to Katherine today, and I’m so happy for them. I knew that it was gonna happen and I love her and I love him and I’m just so happy that they found each other.”
The Mom star said that Pratt texted her after he popped the question. “Chris texted me this morning and he was like, ‘I proposed to Katherine last night.’ And I was like, ‘Ahh, that’s amazing!’ I texted him back, like, ‘I just wanted to remind you I’m an ordained minister,'” she added, laughing.
Sim Sarna, the producer and co-host of Faris’ podcast, chimed in to say that Faris has been supportive of the coupling since Pratt and Schwarzenegger started dating last summer. “I so subscribe to the idea of expanding family with love, and I guess when you’re in a public relationship … the harder part is people looking to me for my reaction,” Faris explained.
Faris and Pratt split in 2017 after eight years of marriage but have maintained a friendship and an amicable co-parenting relationship for their 6-year-old son, Jack. The Overboard star also publicly congratulated Pratt and Schwarzenegger on their engagement with a pair of Instagram comments, writing, “I’m so happy for you both!! Congratulations!” on Pratt’s post, and adding, “I love you guys!” when Schwarzenegger later shared the news on her own account.
“They’re both f*cking amazing people,” Faris said on her podcast, adding that she would love to have them on the show one day.
