This Unconventional Makeup Brush Was *Made* to Cover Up Breakouts
We can all agree that breaking out is the absolute worst when you’re an adult. Once a bump makes its debut, trying to conceal it can often bring even more attention your way. The wrong shade or poor application of concealer can leave you with a mismatched complexion and an even more obvious blemish.
But recently, I found that a tiny circular brush works wonders on making breakouts look almost invisible. The somewhat magical combination of the unique shape, size, and tightly packed (but still soft) fibers on the Artis Circle 1 ($36) make this mini but mighty tool a non-negotiable when my skin is flared-up. I’m obsessed with how it allows me to pat on — instead of rub or blend — powder and cream products that cover unwanted spots seamlessly.
My main issue with using my finger, a makeup sponge, or flat brush for concealing is that each of those methods noticeably disrupts the product I have underneath. The flat, round face of this brush, however, lets you gently place the product on the spot you’re targeting, no rubbing or blending required.
Whether I’m wearing a light BB cream, a pressed powder, or a liquid foundation as my base makeup, this brush is versatile enough to work well with all of them. It easily picks up just a touch of pigment if that’s all you need — or if you’re wearing something sheer underneath and want to keep the no-makeup makeup vibes strong. That said, adding more product to the brush is easy and it still applies with an invisible airbrush effect. If a breakout can bum you out (I feel you), rethink your approach and your tools — starting with this brush.
