Copy Ashley Benson’s Pink-on-Pink-on-Pink Makeup Look for Summer
There have been a lot of makeup trends making headlines these days (even just wearing makeup — who can forget the half-made-up face trend about the power of makeup that went viral recently?). Terms like strobing and baking and even clown contouring have us updating our makeup bags.
Besides our fave beauty bloggers and editors, we’re always looking to the red carpets and Instagrams of our go-to stars for new beauty inspiration. The top pick this week came from Ashley Benson, who showed up at the Pixels movie premiere in NYC in all-pink everything. The glittery pink eye, baby pink lips and the soft blush all come together for a sweet look complemented by the pink in her outfit.
Try the trend out by choosing everything in just one color family for a bold look. You don’t have to limit yourself to pink, of course. Think corals, orange, gold — heck, even a soft lavender could be a really pretty look. In this case, all-pink is summery, and while it definitely makes a statement, it’s versatile enough to wear in the daytime too. DIY the look with these:
1. Party Pink Shadow: Since you’re skipping the liner, you’ll want to choose a shadow that’s really pigmented with glitter to pop, since pink is the only color you’ll be using on your eyes. Try Buxom Eyeshadow Bar in Party Girl ($12) or CoverGirl Queen Eye Shadow Pot in Pink Sequin ($6).
2. Petal Pink Lips: Since the eyes are such a fuchsia pink party, tone it down on the lips with a softer, rosier pink like Ashley — just keep it all in the same (color) family. Check out Laura Mercier’s Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Rose ($27), or for a more budget buy, try London’s premiere drugstore brand Boots No. 7’s Stay Perfect Lipstick in Pink Angel ($10).
3. Flushed Pink Cheeks: You’ll want a pretty glow here, but the pinks on the apples of your cheeks definitely take backseat to the eyes and the lips. Use a light touch and a rosy color. Go for Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Blush in Light Pink ($28) or e.l.f. Blush in Twinkle Pink ($3).
Monochrome makeup looks are trending, and this pretty-in-pink one is easy to pull off for all skin tones, all summer long.
