If your New Year's resolution includes hitting the gym more, these simple DIYs will make your goal a whole lot more attainable. Instead of joining a pricey gym, hack an easy, at-home workout spot to get your sweat on without ever leaving the house. Scroll through to see how you can create an inviting exercise area using basic decor solutions that will work even in the smallest of studios.
You'll need: IKEA wall shelf and brackets, 2-tier shoe storage rack, 5-prong wall mount hook rack, spray paint, level, decor + workout accessories, paint + brush (optional), painter's tape (optional)
Instructions: 1. Spray-paint your shelf and bracket in colors that will complement your existing decor (we opted for white and peach). Then, mount your shelf according to the package instructions. Use a level to ensure evenness.
2. Hang your hook rack five to six inches below, using a level as well.
3. Accessorize your space by placing a yoga mat through your brackets and hanging towels, resistance bands, and more from the hooks. For extra flair, place motivational signage and a speaker on the shelf to stay pumped during your workout.
4. Place your bench under the wall hangings and store handheld weights, rollers, and sneakers for easy-to-access essentials. Optional: Paint a stripe on the bench using painter's tape.
Now you have your own cheery fitness station to take advantage of. Put it to good use, girl!
