It’s no secret that we have a special place in our hearts for rap. In fact, we’re totally banking on Brit’s budding rap career as our company’s fall back plan. And now, thanks to Smule's brand new raptastic AutoRap, aspiring rappers the world over (or at least those with an iPhone or Android), can finally gain some street cred.
This awesome app, by the same folks who brought you Songify, turns you into a rap star using “rappification” technology. (Yes, please feel free to take a second to appreciate the word “rappification.” We’ll wait.) Just talk, read, rhyme, or freestyle into your phone and then let AutoRap turn your words into a rap by matching the syllables of your voice to the beat of your choice.
If you already consider yourself a bit of a rapper, you can switch the app over to “Rap Mode” and show off your skillz. The app will correct any missteps you make and make you sound like the superstar we all know you are ;)
Premium backing tracks include hip hop classics like Tupac’s “California Love,” Nelly’s “Country Grammar,” OutKast’s “Ms. Jackson,” Cypress Hill’s “Insane in the Brain,” and so much more. Save your final tracks in a section of the app called "Rappertoire". That’s right. Rappertoire.
And, because AutoRap seems insistent on stealing our hearts, there’s also a social feature. Share your sick rhymes with friends via Facebook, Twitter, or email. And if you’re the judgemental type (or just an aspiring Simon Cowell), you can rate other rappers or help your friends reach the Top Rappers list.
Are you ready to show off your rapping prowess? Be sure to send us all your hot tracks. Talk to us in the comments below or over on Twitter.
