This Just in: We Designed a Brit + Co Fanny Pack!!
Oh, the fanny pack. A remnant of the ‘80s that has happily experienced a major resurgence in the last few years — I’ve personally always had a soft spot for this highly convenient accessory, in spite of mockery from the fashion-forward set. But now, all of my fanny pack dreams have finally come true. We designed a fanny pack, and you can buy it in the B+C Shop!
Also dubbed a belt pack, belly bag, buffalo pouch, phanny pack (what!), waist bag, waistpack, butt pack, waist wallet, hip pack, belt bag, bum bag or moon bag (h/t Wikipedia), this accessory is the ultimate in hands-free style. Laugh all you want, but a good-looking fanny pack goes a long way. If you’re dancing your face off, you don’t need to worry about holding on to your purse. If you’re traveling, you don’t need to wear a weird cargo vest to carry everything that’s precious to you. And if you’re someone who wears dresses without pockets every single day (read: me), then you can avoid being the chick that is always carrying their phone around in their hand.
We teamed up with Avenue Dee to design an exclusive fanny pack that screams Brit + Co: crazy colorful, patterned and even a little bit fancy with that luxe gold zipper. Snag your own in the B+C Shop for $32!
So, what’s the story with our design? We charged our design team with the task of creating a few different options, and then put it to a vote. The winner is what you see above: a frenzy of color, geometric design and nature-inspired pattern. It’s dubbed Kaleidoscope, and Brit + Co designer Annie Kubena was “inspired by uncut rocks and gemstones that change color where light hits them and also cracked ice and the beauty in the geometric randomness and imperfection of both of those things.”
And with that, a lifelong dream of a ‘90s child has been realized.
