“Bachelor” Alum Erica Rose Got Engaged at Her Daughter’s 1st Birthday Party
As Arie Luyendyk Jr. begins filming on this season of The Bachelor, another former contestant is finding happily-ever-after off-screen. Franchise alum Erica Rose had two reasons to celebrate this past weekend — it was her baby girl’s first birthdayand she got engaged!
Fans will remember Rose from Prince Lorenzo Borghese’s season of The Bachelor in 2006, as well as from her stints on Bachelor Pad in 2011 and 2012. She didn’t find her perfect match on-screen, but it certainly seems like she’s living a charmed life now.
Rose’s boyfriend, Charles, popped the question while they were celebrating her daughter Holland’s birthday at the Houston Zoo on Sunday. The bride-to-be told E! News, “We got engaged today at the zoo at my daughter’s first birthday! Charles proposed in front of all our friends and family and asked Holland’s permission. He didn’t want to take attention away from Holland but wanted all of our family and friends to be there, so he took me outside and did it, and then we came back in and did her birthday cake and put a baby diamond ring on there for her.”
She added that her fiancé is going to be a great stepdad to Holland, whom she shares with ex Galen Gentry. “He is so amazing with Holland and it meant so much to me that he asked her permission to marry me too and presented her with her own tiny diamond ring,” she gushed.
The engaged pair first met in high school but fell in love after recently reconnecting at a Kentucky Derby party. “We literally have been inseparable since,” she told E!, adding, “After our first date we never spent a night apart. It feels so good to find true love, especially with someone I’ve known half my life but never thought about that way.”
Congratulations to the happy couple and the adorable family!
