‘Bachelor’ Arie Luyendyk Jr. Just Shared a Spoiler About His Season
The wait for Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s season of The Bachelor is getting shorter! While we already knew that all signs point to this season being dramatic AF, we also now know whether the season 22 leading man found love. (Spoiler!)
“The journey obviously was a great experience and I did fall in love,” Luyendyk told Us Weekly on Thursday, before dropping a bombshell about the upcoming season. “I actually fell in love with two people.”
Does this mean we could be looking at an emotional decision between the professional race car driver and a runner-up? It sure sounds like it.
“The toughest part about being the Bachelor would probably be the end, making tough decisions toward the end,” he continued. “I mean, that’s the hardest decision of your life, really. It’s a forever decision, so it’s not taken lightly. I think that was probably the hardest thing.”
Before his stint as the star of The Bachelor season 22, Luyendyk was the runner-up on Emily Maynard’s season of TheBachelorette in 2012. It’s been a while since he’s been in front of the camera, and the 36-year-old admits that his nerves got the best of him at times.
“I was so nervous that first night,” he told Us Weekly, revealing some of the thoughts that were racing through his head. “I was scared there wouldn’t be somebody there for me. I was worried about if the women were expecting me or expecting somebody else, and how I was going to deal with that.”
But, as Luyendyk has revealed in the past, he felt ready to give the franchise another shot, all in the name of finding love. This time, he had a plan — and by the sounds of it, it worked.
“I think my game plan was not to lead with chemistry,” he said. “I think in the past I’ve done that before and I think as a man it’s easy to do that. I just really tried to envision how that person would fit into my regular life and if I could fit into their life.”
Season 22 of The Bachelor premieres on Monday, January 1, at 8pm on ABC.
