Banana Republic’s Summer 2015 Collection Makes Us Crave SUN
Today it’s cold and rainy in San Francisco, but that doesn’t mean we can’t daydream about sun-kissed summer holidays and bike rides on the boardwalk. Forget the visions of sugar plums — after taking a look at Banana Republic’s Summer 2015 collection, all we can see are ice cream cones and Labor Day barbecues.
With new Creative Director Marissa Webb modernizing the vision for the company, it seems a brand facelift is fully underway. Rather than the khaki shorts and white button-downs you might expect from BR, this collection is bursting with color, intricate detailing and modern silhouettes.
You’ll find military jackets, silky floral jumpsuits, minimalistic leather pieces and electric blue lace. For those who count on the brand for those boring basics, they’re still there, they’re now just looking a little less business casual-boring.
Khaleesi? Is that you?
It’s a little hard to think about sandals and summer dresses when we’re wrapping ourselves in scarfs and coats, but maybe the lengthy heads up is a good thing. Plenty of time to get those bank accounts in order… or so we’ll tell ourselves.
How do you feel about Banana Republic’s new direction? Would you wear it? Share you thoughts in the comment section below.
