You Won’t Believe Barbie’s Latest Makeover
In time for Paris Fashion Week, British makeup artist Pat McGrath has debuted a whole-new look for Barbie. No, we’re not talking about a new convertible or a new career. This is a serious makeover for the doll. McGrath debuted the new high-fashion, red carpet-ready look on the @barbiestyle Instagram this week. And they look seriously fierce!
For the first in the series, McGrath used Swarovski crystals around Barbie’s eyes and a radiant orchid shade on her lips. According to Vogue, this look was inspired by face jewelry at a recent Givenchy show.
The second Instagram photo features Barbie with winged eyeliner, strong brows, a septum ring and jeweled lip. McGrath says this punk transformation was based on a look at the 2013 Met Gala.
In the third look, Barbie wears vibrant blue and yellow eye shadow and blush contouring inspired by Jessica Stam circa a September 2004 shot. McGrath finished the look with red lipstick.
The last photo features Barbie wearing a light, soft lipstick and bold turquoise shadow based on last fall’s Atelier Versace show, according to Vogue.
We must say, we’re loving Barbie’s new versatile makeup looks and her recent adventures in Paris, including a trip to the Musée des Arts Décoratifs and room service at Hotel Particulier Montmartre. C’est magnifique! And we might just be stealing these bold makeup looks for our next big night…
