Beauty Confession: I’ve Been Wearing the Same Foundation Since I Was 14 Years Old
Confession: When I find a product I love, I will buy it over and over until I find something that’s better. Sometimes, this happens quickly and I find a better product in no time; other times, I stick with the same product for many years like I have with my foundation. When it comes to foundation, it’s not always easy to find a formula that you’re 100% in love with — maybe you dig the coverage but the price isn’t right, or you’re into the brand but the formula doesn’t cut it for you. It’s also tricky because foundation is typically a product you wear every day, so it has to be *on point*. Back in the day (like, more than 10 years ago) I randomly tried a foundation on a whim and haven’t used anything else since. It’s THAT good.
I’ve been using bareMinerals Original Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 since I was 14 years old! That’s right, my mid-twenties-self hasn’t budged from my tried-and-true foundation routine since my first year of high school, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. I absolutely LOVE this foundation for so many reasons (which I’ll tell you about v soon) but most importantly, it just makes my skin look great without looking like I have a ton of makeup on.

What It Is: bareMinerals Original Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 ($28) is a loose powder mineral foundation that’s used to give your skin light coverage and conceal any imperfections. It has slight sun protection in it (which doesn’t mean you should skip out on your daily sunscreen!) so it’s a particularly great option for everyday use. You can use it as concealer, too, so it’s definitely a versatile product you can get a ton of wear out of. It’s also buildable, so you can opt for lighter coverage or layer it on for full coverage — but you still won’t look like a cake face. You’ll have a healthy, luminous glow — and who doesn’t want that?
Who Should Use It: Anyone who wants a foundation that offers a range of coverage options, SPF protection and good-for-your-skin ingredients should use this foundation. It’s especially great for people who have skin issues, sensitive skin or break out because of its mineral base and lack of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, preservatives, talc and fragrance.
How You Should Apply It: Since it’s a loose powder foundation, you should apply it in circular motions with a kabuki brush or these brushes I swear by. You can do a light dusting over your face or continue to add layers to increase your coverage and hide imperfections. If you want to use it as concealer, use a flat brush and pat it on wherever it’s needed.
Why This Is My Beauty Confession: I’ve never found a foundation that I love — or keep repurchasing — as much as bareMinerals Original Foundation.
