Beauty Confession: I Get the Best Eyelashes Ever from This Weird Gadget
My beauty confession: I use a heated eyelash curler to step up my eyelash game and I’m obsessed AF. It’s super simple, safe and works to quickly perk up your eyelashes after you already have mascara on, which, to me, is a total game changer for girls on-the-go.
Don’t get me wrong: I almost always curl my lashes in the morning before I put on mascara, but they never seem to stay curled throughout the day the way I’d like them to. That’s where this nifty little tool comes in to save the day (and my lashes). The fact that you use it more like a touch-up tool rather than one to start your day off (when you have bare lashes pre-mascara in the morning) is perfect for busy girls running from a meeting to a night out and for anyone who needs a quick pick-me-up.
WHY I LOVE USING A HEATED EYELASH CURLER
What It Is: There are lots of heated eyelash curlers out there, but I’ve really been loving the Chella Heated Eyelash Curler ($22). This particular device warms up quickly, is super safe to use (seriously, you don’t have to worry about burning your lashes or the skin around your eyes) and makes a big difference in the way your lashes look. It gets the job done, is affordable and fits in your clutch. Boom.
How It Works: Justflip the switch on when you want the device to warm up. In about 15 seconds, the coils will be heated enough to curl your lashes — it’s some sort of crazy magic, I swear! You place the curler at the base of your lashes and wiggle it a bit at the root, gently lifting up your lashes in the process. You’ll notice that your eyes will look more wide-eyed thanks to this tool; it really opens up your eyes.
Where You Can Find It: You can find heated eyelash curlers at Sephora and many other makeup shops and drugstores, or shop the Chella Heated Eyelash Curler ($22) here.
Who Should Use It: Give a heated eyelash curler a try if you want to refresh your look midday or anytime after you already have your mascara on — you can see in the photo above that my lashes on the left are more curled (I used the curler on this side) while the right side doesn’t have the same lifted, wide-eyed look. It’s a great tool to throw in your purse so you can break it out while you’re out and about. It’s a total lifesaver for when you’re traveling (it’s so compact!) and something that deserves a spot in your desk drawer for sure.
Why This Is My Beauty Confession: I truly turn to this tool allllll the time. I never realized how big a difference a little lift and curl on your lashes can make in your overall look, and I love how it’s a subtle refresh that takes less than one minute.
