Bed Bath & Beyond’s First In-House Brand Is Giving Us Modern Farmhouse Vibes
If you’re one of the scores of newly-minted “adults” who fondly remembers furnishing their first apartment (or dorm room) with strategic trips to Bed Bath & Beyond, you know that the big box store is synonymous with home essentials, from trash cans and box fans to cleaning supplies and sateen sheets. But the mega-retailer is branching out for the first time ever, debuting its own line of accessories, textiles, and even furniture with a more grown-up, modern farmhouse feel.
Dubbed Bee & Willow Home, the collection clearly draws lots of inspiration from the farmhouse trend we’ve been loving since we discovered Fixer Upper. Barn door-detailed furniture pieces, classic wingback chairs, and durable-yet-stylish rugs are some of the centerpieces of the collection. Beyond furniture and accessories, the collection also includes all you need to stock a classic farmhouse kitchen, like rustic ceramics and entertaining essentials. “The inspiration for Bee & Willow Home is a contemporized approach to the idyllic, rustic style of decor. We identified the unique stylistic thread that runs through all farmhouses and cottages from Maine to Key West, the Great Plains to Venice Beach, that evokes an honest, restorative and timeless feel,” Barbara Weston, director of global trend at Bed Bath & Beyond, said in a release.
Creating an upscale look at an accessible price was one of the main goals with Bee & Willow Home, so details like the hardware and natural woods give the collection an elevated feel. “The materials in the collection include an eclectic blend of rustic, distressed, and time-loved transitional decor pieces combined with distressed stone, wood and metal,” says Weston.
Bee & Willow Home is actually the first of six in-house collections the company plans to introduce through 2020. And if this is any indicator of what’s to come, we think it’s safe to say we’ll be furnishing our homes with BB&B finds well into our #adulting years.
