What’s Better than Tiramisu? Beeramisu!
Cake is always delicious. But you know what would make it more delicious? Some beer. Some beer-soaked cake. And some chocolate. Combine chocolate stout, moist pound cake, cream cheese, chocolate powder, and what do you get?
BEERAMISU. Also known as a beer-lover’s take on a classic tiramisu. You’re welcome.
Ingredients:
– 1 pack pre-sliced pound cake. If you get a regular loaf, you can cut it into 6 1/2 inch slices
– 1 pack (8 oz) cream cheese, softened at room temperature
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– 1 cup Cool Whip
– 1/2 cup stout (or more if you want your beeramisu to be extra boozy!)
– unsweetened cocoa powder for sprinkling
First, prepare the stout-soaked pound cake. Remove the slices from the wrapping and gently pour beer over the cake. Be careful to not oversoak the cake, or else it might crumble. To make squares, we trimmed off the top and cut it in half.
Voila! Arrange all your soaked cake slices on the platter you’ll serve them in. Then, we’ll make the topping.
Combine cream cheese and sugar in a large bowl and mix with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy. Gently fold in Cool Whip without using the mixer.
Top with the cream cheese mixture. It doesn’t need to be smooth and perfect, part of the charm is the textured top! Then, gently sprinkle the cocoa powder all over the bites. Now you’re done!
So cute!
We don’t mean to toot our own horn but this tastes pretty darn close to the real thing, just hoppier! :)
