Taste-testing new ice creams, made from dairy milk, nuts, or even avocados, is basically a competitive sport around here, and we've had a lot of good ones this summer. We've narrowed down the pints to our few favorites. Get the scoop on these 11 new treats to dish this summer.
Market Pantry Unicorn Magic Ice Cream ($3): Enjoy a little magic after dinner with a tub of this colorful pink cherry ice cream base that contains sweet white frosting, sour blue raspberry swirls, and edible glitter. It's almost too pretty to eat... but that won't stop us from trying.
Archer Farms Mini Donut Reduced Fat Ice Cream ($4): This Halo Top competitor definitely lives up to the hype. Loaded with 20 grams of protein *and* donut pieces, it's like adulthood and childhood in one pint.
Magnum Ice Cream Dark Chocolate Raspberry ($5):Magnum, makers of decadent ice cream bars, have finally branched out into pints with a crackable chocolate shell on top. Raspberry ice cream swirled with dark chocolate shards is our fave of the new-ish flavors.
Blue Bunny Frozen Bunny Snacks ($5): Sweet and salty snacks always hit the spot. We're just glad this salted caramel pretzel ice cream comes in bite-sized pieces, because otherwise we'd eat the whole pint in one go.
Museum of Ice Cream Piñata ($5): What does a piñata taste like? The masterminds at the Museum of Ice Cream created a version that straight-up tastes like cotton candy, though the vanilla base also features pieces of animal cookies, cake bites, and rainbow sprinkles.
Tillamook Buttered Maple Pancakes Ice Cream ($7): You can keep your breakfast for dinner, but we'll take breakfast for dessert anytime. Or dessert for breakfast — we're really not picky.
So Delicious Cold Brew Dairy Free ($6): This vegan frozen treat is actually creamy and tastes like a robust cup of coffee.
Ben & Jerry's Peanut Butter Half Baked® Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert ($8): Everytime a non-dairy frozen dessert doesn't suck, we do a little happy dance. That's why we totally stan for this fudgy, peanut butter-filled treat from Ben & Jerry's.
Haagen-Dazs Trio Belgian Chocolate/Coffee/Vanilla Ice Cream ($7): Haagen-Dazs has been expanding its flavor offerings over the past few years, and the new trio layers pint is a hit. Three flavors of ice cream are separated by crispy layers of chocolate, so you won't even miss that sugar cone.
Cado Organic Mint Chocolate Chip Avocado Ice Cream ($7): Avocado is the secret to this dairy-free ice cream's decadent texture. The mint chocolate chip variety is particularly refreshing.
Halo Top Peanut Butter & Jelly Ice Cream ($8): Peanut butter and jelly work perfectly well in a sandwich together, so the folks at Halo Top figured they'd be delish in ice cream too.
