The Best-Selling Black Skinny Jeans You Need in Your Closet STAT
When it comes to denim, quality and fit are two things we’re not willing to compromise on. Imagine our surprise when we uncovered the black high-waisted skinny jeans of our dreams (fit to flatter in all the right places and made to last the test of time) at a price that doesn’t break the bank. Say whaaa? As far as best-kept secrets go, we would like to think that we’ve struck sartorial gold. We’re pledging our allegiance to cool-girl-approved denim brand Industry Standard once again, but this go-around, their best-selling black high-waisted Simone has caught our eye. Priced at just $115 per pair, these bad boys (made in LA and designed in NYC) would easily serve as an indispensable addition to any fashion girl’s wardrobe.
But hurry! On top of 250+ pre-orders, there’s currently an ever-growing waitlist that doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon. Even the brand’s founder, Nicole Najafi, is waiting to snag a pair of the notorious Simones (to replace her previous pair, natch). Holy guacamole is right.
Ultra-flattering, streamlined, and dare we say it, ridiculously comfortable — what more could you ask for? Najafi tells Brit + Co, “I think it’s hard to find a pair of jeans that have stretch but don’t stretch out. It requires a really high-quality denim with a high cotton content, and a lot of brands skimp on their cotton content to save costs. I’m denim-obsessed. I really can’t wear a low-quality denim. They’re on all day; they might as well feel great, right?” Our sentiments exactly.
Of the recent success of the Simones, she shares,“I knew they were a great jean, but I’m blown away by how many people have found out about them and how long people have been willing to wait for them! I mean is there anything that provides more utility and comfort in our closet than a perfect high-rise black jean?”
As far as styling goes, the outfit possibilities are truly endless. While Najafi pairs her Simones alongside “a thin cashmere sweater and white Vans pretty much every single day,” might we suggest anything from a white v-neck pocket tee and off-duty tennies to a chambray shirt and d’Orsay flats. Dress ‘em up or dress ‘em down for around the clock domination. It goes without saying: Run, don’t walk to claim your stake on this pièce de résistance.
