Beyoncé May Be Joining the Lion King Remake As Nala
Beyoncé has taken us on a rollercoaster of highs and lows lately, from her epic goddess-inspired Grammys performance to the Coachella announcement that we really didn’t want to hear. And while we eagerly wait for the arrival of her twins, new Beyoncé buzz claims that Queen B may be joining Disney’s Lion King remake in a totally worthy role.
Fans freaked out when it was announced that Donald Glover had been cast as Simba, and surely he’s as psyched as anyone to learn that Beyoncé is apparently the top choice to play his character’s best friend and love interest, Nala.
The key figure leading to Simba’s return home and taking back the throne from his villainous uncle, she’s no simple minor character, but is instead a role that we can definitely see piquing the interest of someone like Beyoncé. And we bet Blue Ivy would LOVE for her mom to be in the Lion King, because, honestly, wouldn’t we all love for our moms to get such a super cool opportunity?
With James Earl Jones already on board to reprise his role as Simba’s father, Mufasa, this is absolutely going to be a remake worth seeing over and over again, and may even end up giving Beauty and the Beast a run for its money.
