Bikini Cardigans Are the Next Modest Swimwear Trend You Need to Try
Celebs love Lisa Marie Fernandez swimwear, whether it’s Nicole Richie wearing her gold bikini while boating in Cannes, or Rihanna sporting a blue-and-white one-piece by the designer during last year’s Fourth of July (not to be confused with the time she wore a scarf as a bikini top). Now Lisa Marie Fernandez has come up with a new genius idea: bikini cardigans.
Fernandez designed the Bikini Twin Set for women who don’t want to get too much sun or don’t like to show their arms, Fashionista reports. “You’re sitting at a pool somewhere or it gets chilly at the end of the day. Or not and you just want to go swimming in it — it’s the same exact material [as the bikini],” she tells the website.
The set comes with a matching bikini top, bottom and cropped cardigan, and you can bet you’ll be paying celebrity prices for the trendy beach must-have. The Genevieve Twin Set in seersucker, for example, is listed on the designer’s website for $605. But the cardigan is worth the price because of its dual purpose, Fernandez tells Fashionista. Outside of the beach, it can also double as a cardigan over your tank top or dress for a perfect summer ensemble.
If you’re feeling the bikini cardigan, head over to the designer’s website to check it out. And soon, the twin sets will also be available at Net-a-Porter, Matchesfashion, Shopbop, Saks Fifth Avenue and Barneys, Fashionista says.
We expect to see a lot of cardigans on the beach this summer.
