This New Subscription Razor Brand Was Made With Women in Mind
Finding the right kind of shaving tool to tackle the curves of the female body is a feat in and of itself. But remembering to switch out your razor blades once you’ve found the right fit is just as much of a pain. Before you know it, you’re dealing with knicks, razor burn, and ingrown hairs because your blade has run its course. Companies that send fresh blades to your doorstep take the hassle out of the repurchasing, but they’ve also been tailored to the needs of men — until now.
Billie, which launched today, is a female-first body brand that offers razors, shaving cream, body wash, and lotion at affordable prices (even for broke millennials!). Think Dollar Shave Club, but for women. Plus there’s no BS pink tax. The brand is an intentionally “anti-pink tax” company, which means that they’re fed up with women having to pay more than men for body products. Same.
Here’s the deal: Your first Billie order is the Starter Kit ($9), which includes a razor handle, magnetic holder, and two five-blade razor cartridges. After that, you can order refills (and choose to receive them every one, two, or three months) that are packed with four additional razor cartridges, which also cost $9. If you want to throw in The Shave Cream ($8), Sudsy Body Wash ($9), or Dry-Bye Body Lotion ($12), you can add those items to your delivery too.
These are not your average razors either. From the millennial-minded, muted colors (Periwinkle Pop, Coral, Billie Blush, and Cool Blue) to the thoughtful design, like a waterproof “power putty” that provides a seriously strong suction to your shower wall, these tools are a definite step up. The brand even fixed that annoying thing that happens when your razor gets clogged with soap and hair: Razor heads are specially designed to have just enough space between each blade so that nothing will get gunked up. Between the cost, the design, and the fuss-free subscription model, Billie is here to shake up your shower.
