Billy Joel and Wife Alexis Roderick Welcome a Baby Girl: Find Out Her Name!
Billy Joel and wife Alexis Roderick revealed just last week that they were expecting their second child. The couple of two years disclosed at the time that Roderick was due “next month,” but the “Piano Man” announced on Instagram that their new daughter has indeed already arrived.
“Billy Joel and wife Alexis welcomed their second daughter, Remy Anne, on Sunday, October 22nd,” a statement accompanying a pic of Joel and his youngest daughter read. “Remy Anne Joel entered the world at 7:52 pm weighing 7lbs, 3 oz.”
Little Remy Anne joins two-year-old sister Della Rose, whom Joel and Roderick had one month after getting married in August 2015.
Joel also shares 31-year-old daughter Alexa Ray Joel with ex Christie Brinkley. Both Billy and Alexa Ray were at Roderick’s side as she gave birth at New York University Hospital in New York, and mother and baby are said to be doing well. “Everyone is thrilled,” the family shared in the statement.
During the The Belfast Telegraph interview in which Joel revealed he and Roderick were expecting, he said he hoped his new daughter would be as easy-going as his toddler. “This one is pretty good,” he said, referring to Della Rose, who was present during the interview. “She sleeps through the night. I hope the next one will.”
It seems the new phase of Joel’s life is indeed keeping him young — he admitted that what he does for fun these days is a far cry from the party life of being a rock star in the ’70s.
“I hang out with her,” he said, referring to Della, “and watch her little wheels spin. She’s a funny kid. She loves to laugh. I like to make her laugh.” We have a feeling there’ll be a lot more laughs in the singer’s future. Congrats to the growing family!
