This Gadget Feeds Your Cat Using Facial Recognition Software
Whether you’re on vacation or just working 9 to 9, 24/7, leaving your pets at home can give you a serious guilt trip. You leave out food and water, of course, but you wonder how they’re really doing while you’re away. Well, now you don’t have to wonder anymore. Bistro, a new project being funded on Indiegogo, will allow you to feed your cat throughout the day, without having to lift a finger.
Bistro uses facial recognition software to feed your cat while you’re not around. As your feline friend approaches the feeding dish, it recognizes her and dispenses exactly the right amount of food.
So instead of leaving a full dish, which your cat can eat all at once, she’ll get food measured out throughout the day. That means whiskers will be full but won’t be allowed to overeat. Aw, fat cats!
And if you’re really missing Whisk’, Bistro lets you check up on her through its app. You can see how she’s been eating and even check out the live camera — um, we guess now you can even have lunch with your kitty from the office.
We’re all about quantifying ourselves and tracking our own diet, appetite and weight changes — so why not do it for our pets, too? This feeder will give you stats on how your cat’s doing throughout the day and over time, so you can be sure to keep up to date on your furry friend’s health, no matter where you are.
More than one cat? No problem! Because of the facial recognition software, Bistro always knows exactly which feline is approaching it at any given time. So even if your cats have different dietary needs, (and one is a little more you just need to snag one device to keep them all fed throughout the day.
