Jenna Bush Hager Book Club Pick "Black Cake" Is Officially Coming To Hulu
Staff Writer, Jasmine Williams, covers a variety of topics from home decor to beauty and everything in between. She has bylines at Motherly, The Everymom, and Byrdie where she wrote about motherhood, beauty, health and relationships. Jasmine knew she wanted to be a writer when she realized she was actually interested in reading the articles in her mom's favorite magazines — and she may or may not have ripped her favorite articles out to study them later. When she's not working, you can find Jasmine playing make-believe with her toddler, spending an undisclosed amount of time in Target or TJ Maxx, and searching for a family-friendly puppy to add to her family.
Parents can lead complex lives, sometimes shielding their children from any less desirable aspects in the process. Upcoming book-to-TV seriesBlack Cake explores just this. A Jenna Bush Hager's book club pick, the TV-adaptation of Charmaine Wilkerson's Black Cake introduces family matriarch Eleanor Bennett who decides to reveal dark truths to her adult children...only after her death.
Unlike some of our fave TV moms who always keep it real, Bennett chose to do the opposite. Before we pass judgement, it's worth noting she felt justified because she ultimately feared for her safety. We know this doesn't excuse keeping secrets from your kids, but we can relate to burying a secretor two for a certain amount of time. Even if you'd never hold a secret so close to your chest, Black Cake is one series that'll keep you on the edge of your seat this fall. Here are all the amazing details about it!
