Black Garlic Doritos Are the Creepiest Halloween Treat
Though this isn’t the first time Doritos has tried something new in a shocking color — we’re talking about rainbow Doritos, if you were wondering — and although we’re totally into Doritos and Halloween coming together (couple’s Doritos costume, anyone?), we have to say that Black Garlic Doritos may in fact be the creepiest Halloween treat this year.
Perhaps not as hot as Paqui’s Carolina Reaper chip (natch), Black Garlic Doritos are intense in their own way. With a vampire, a creepy castle, gravestones and bats adorning the black bag, this is definitely the treat you want to nab for your Halloween bash. That is, if you want to ward off the undead (or your crush, TBH) with some super strong breath.
If you’re curious, black garlic is created by caramelizing regular garlic over the course of several weeks. The taste is described as sweet and syrupy and has hints of balsamic vinegar or tamarind, which makes us totally wonder what it’s like on Doritos.
If you want to get your hands on Black Garlic Doritos, you’ll have to book a trip or get a friend to send them overseas, as they’re only available in Japan and only for the month of October.
