When Blake Lively shared that she might be toying with the idea of designing a clothing line at some point in the future at November’s American Made Summit in NYC, we immediately assumed that the potential collection would be a women’s clothing line inspired by Blake herself.
Well it seems like Blake’s New Year’s Resolution was to find more time. According to a Telegraph report and a source who spoke with OK! Magazine, Blake is launching a clothing line, just not one for us fangirls.
Rather, the mom-to-be will be kicking off her fashion career designing infant wear under the name Preserve Baby. “The line will include diapers, bath and body products and infant clothing” said the source, who also spilled that Blake, who will sell the items through her website, is looking to cater the mini-me goods to high-end, celebrity clients.
The report is currently unconfirmed, so at this time, you can file the news under “rumor we realllly hope is true.” It seems completely plausible, though. As we mentioned—and as you’ve probably seen if you double tap Preserve’s Instagram account as often as we do—Lively’s style has always been covetable, especially since she’s been styling her bump. So making the most out of her newfound status as a maternity style icon would be a natural move for entrepreneurial Blake.
If it does pan out, we’re hoping Blake taps her network of Preserve artisans to create handcrafted, American-made pieces for the line; mini cape coats and Southwestern-patterned diaper bags are on our wish list. Even if the pieces end up on the pricey side and on the likes of celebrity kids like North Westfirst, we’re fairly confident we’ll be able to figure out a way to DIY the goods on a *real* new mom’s budget.
