You’ll Never Guess Which Disney Character Inspired Blake Lively’s Cannes Outfit
The stars are getting ready to shine once again, this time at 2016’s Cannes Film Festival. And while Blake Lively is surely still on cloud nine after receiving an absolutely dreamy Mother’s Day gift from Ryan Reynolds, she’s taking on Cannes in full sartorial force. Her first-day look, although totally on-point with the current prairie chic trend, would be just as at home in a Disney movie — The Hunchback of Notre Dame, to be exact.
If you’re wondering if we just compared the celeb to Quasimodo, you’re a little off the mark. It was the star herself, making the festival rounds to promote her work in Woody Allen’s latest movie, Café Society, who made the character comparison, posting a pic with the caption, “#Cannes2016 fashion inspo day one: Esmerelda.”
Yes, she means Esméralda, the beautiful, free-spirited gypsy from the old Victor Hugo novel turned Disney flick. Blake captured the look with her own full-length, navy-blue dress with white embellishments. Off the shoulders and a blingy rhinestone halter, the dress is definitely a glammed-up version of the Disney heroine’s get-up.
The Shallows star also showed off her stud-encrusted stiletto sandals. We’re not sure how much dancing Blake will be able to do in those fierce black and white patterned mile-high heels, but no doubt she waltzed right down the red carpet.
BUT WAIT! While we’ve been loving the boho-chic look, Blake popped up in yet another outfit and is totally slaying every red-carpet step. In a fire-engine-red, wide-legged jumpsuit with a plunging neckline and a scarf cavalierly flung over her shoulders, Blake looked full-blown French Riviera glam.
Seriously, girl, slay, slay, slay!
