Blake Lively Makes Her Daughter Wear Ugly Shoes and You’ll Totally Understand Why
We may rarely get to see Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ daughters, but that doesn’t mean the proud parents aren’t totally willing to share plenty of super sweet deets with us. From the, er, interesting name Ryan had chosen for baby #2 to Blake’s adorable joke about her girls, we love hearing about their loving little family. Now, Blake has revealed that she makes her daughter wear ugly shoes, and while that may seem strange at first, when you find out the reason behind it, you’ll totally understand why.
“We were arguing over what shoes she gets to wear today,” Blake told E! while on red carpet for Michael Kors’ NYFW show, not surprising anyone who has every had (or even met) a stubborn toddler. The mama-of-two added, “She wanted to wear jellies, like strappy jellies. And I was like, ‘It’s 20 degrees outside. You can’t wear jellies.’ But she loves them.”

So what does Blake make little James pop on? Well, the foot-wear that is often deemed one of the ugliest trends to ever hit our feet: Uggs. Loved by plenty and hated by just as many, Blake herself often slips on some Uggs (and has been doing so for years now), so it shouldn’t be surprising that she has her mini-me do the same.
But she does indulge her kiddo with a slick mom move. “’You wear Uggs when it’s 20 degrees, and when it’s warmer you can wear the strappy jellies.’ So, I put the jellies in my purse, so she could transition into them when she got indoors.” Well done, Mama!
