How to Dress for NYE Whether You’re Going Out or Staying in
Britt and Whit are San Francisco style bloggers, but really feel more like your fashion girl bffs — you know, those gals who know how to throw together the most on-point outfit like that. All through December, they’re sharing their best cold weather style hacks! Check back here for tips on how to nail your trickiest winter style dilemmas.
HOW TO PICK THE PERFECT NYE DRESS
Whit: I always like to celebrate New Years with a bang! If there’s one night to bust out the sparkles and sequins, it’s New Year’s Eve! A classic party dress with a little sparkle is always perfect for dancing the night away. This burgundy sequin dress caught my eye because it’s a bit more of a unique color than your typical gold or silver sequin dresses. Plus, I love the cut of the back!
#StyeHack: For a more unique take on this sequin option, try a jumpsuit or a top and short option! If all-over sequins is not your thing, try adding sparkle with heels or a glittery clutch to get a bit more festive without being overwhelmed.
How to Dress for a COZY NYE AT HOME
Britt: I may be the only one to say this (or at least admit it out loud), but I love to stay in on NYE. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve done my fair share of crazy NYE parties, but the thought of squishing myself into a crowded bar or restaurant with a bunch of strangers is not my ideal way to ring in the New Year. Instead, I opt for a quiet evening in with my husband and pup. Staying in doesn’t have to mean sweatpants and slippers though. I lean towards cozy sweater dresses or sleek pants and sweaters.
#StyleHack: I’m a huge fan of winter white and love a monochromatic look to make a statement during the holidays. It’s a chic alternative to the glitz of NYE but still looks polished. Plus, it’s the perfect base to layer on colorful outerwear, like this bright red coat, for when we go outside to watch the fireworks!
