Summer Cocktail Alert! Blueberry Lemon Ginger Fizz Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 jiggers of vodka (8 ounces)
- 2 bottles of ginger beer
- 2 teaspoons of sugar
- 2 teaspoons of fresh ginger
- 2 cups of blueberries
- a few sprigs of mint
- 1 lemon
Directions
The night before you plan on serving these yummy drinks, whip up a batch of ice cubes with lemon, blueberry, and mint. We recommend using a rasp to get some of that yummy lemon rind into the mix. Squeeze a wedge of lemon juice over the whole ice cube try before adding water.
Now, onto the drink! Take your blueberries and add 2 teaspoons of sugar, 2 teaspoons of ginger, and a wedge or two of lemon juice. Mix well.
We’re going to make the vodka base of this drink in two batches, simply because of the size of our shaker. Add 1/3 cup of your blueberry mix to a shaker. Add chopped mint. Muddle thoroughly. Add 2 jiggers of vodka and muddle some more. Add ice and shake!
To pour into our bottle, we used this lemon juice funnel because we couldn’t find our regular funnel! Add lemon slices, blueberries, and mint to the bottle. Repeat with another shaker. At this point, you’ve got a nice fruity vodka mix. You can store this in the fridge if you’re not quite ready to serve drinks, or you can go ahead and add the ginger beer.
Use a funnel to pour the ginger beer in.
Pour your cocktail over ice cubes in wine glasses or mason jars, and sip the day away.
