This ’80s Swim Brand Is Making a Major Comeback
With super high-cut styles permeating the Instasphere via It-girls like Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, and, well, basically all of the KarJenners, the ’80s-style swimsuit has been back for a little while. The Kardashians and Jenners, specifically, took it upon themselves to endorse the revival of one of the most iconic brands of the era, Body Glove. You know the one: bright neons, contrast panels, zipper details, and of course, high-cut legs. Now it’s reaching a fever pitch with Body Glove’s ‘80s Throwback Collection — an assortment of their quintessential styles, complete with the hand logo.

It all seemingly started with Kylie Jenner. The youngest sis was spotted back in 2015 in a hot pink one-piece once sported by her mom, Kris Jenner, and instantly ’80s kids everywhere got a touch of nostalgia. More recently, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian were spotted in Turks and Caicos rocking matching Body Glove suits from the ’80s Throwback Collection.
The throwback collection is remarkably true to the original offerings from the brand, with the same sexy surf-inspired aesthetic that made it so popular back in the day. Ranging from $50 to $122, you’ve got your choice of one-pieces, swim tops, bottoms, shorts, a skirt, and even a zip-front bodycon dress, all named after classic hits from the era, ie: the Time After Time Swim One Piece.
And while it may seem like this is the type of made-for-the-‘Gram garb only the Kardashians can pull off, there is something about that Baywatch-approved high cut that just makes anyone’s legs look like they go on for days. So it might be worth a try. Just be sure to avoid looking like an extra from Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion by tempering the retro vibe with sleek, modern accessories. (And don’t forget a trip to the waxing salon.)
