Three Boozy Ways to Espresso Yourself: Soda, Ice Cream and Caramel
For most of us, the day hasn’t really begun until that first cup of coffee. (But first, coffee — amirite?) Thankfully, coffee isn’t reserved for our mornings and is totally acceptable to consume during afternoons and evenings. A lot of the time I like coffee-flavored things more than the actual coffee itself and am always looking out for new ways to incorporate espresso flavors into recipes. Great coffee pairings include coffee and chocolate, coffee and cream, and of course, coffee and booze. Here we present three boozy espresso recipes to spice up your caffeine routine!
ESPRESSODA COCKTAIL
Earlier this month, Brit + Co discovered the amazing espressoda (espresso + soda) at the new illy Caffè in SF. We fell in love and decided to spice it up with chocolate and yes, booze.
Ingredients:
— hard soda
— 1 ounce espresso
— 1 Tablespoon chocolate chips
— heavy cream
Instructions:
1. Melt chocolate in the microwave. Mix in heavy cream until you get a runny consistency (you may need to add a splash of milk.)
2. Fill a glass halfway with ice. Add espresso. Add hard soda, leaving room at the top for the chocolate.
3. Add a spoonful of the chocolate mixture. Stir a little before drinking.
